The space is rather simple but welcoming and very clean. In the massage room it was dimly lit (but not dark by any means) and there was some soft music playing in the background. The table had a warmer, which was wonderful because I am always cold! Although I sometimes enjoy aromatherapy there were no overwhelming herbal smells... which often cause headaches. Visually speaking the space is very warm and welcoming... nicely put together to aid in relaxation. I had the pleasure of meeting/ receiving a massage from Dru. She was very kind and thoughtful, she took her time in talking with me and I didn't feel rushed... she truly listened. The massage itself was one of the best I have ever received! I walked away feeling less stressed and very mellow. She was able to relieve a lot of tension and soreness. She applied the level of pressure required to relax my muscles and never too much. I will certainly be back! I can't wait as a matter of fact! If you want to feel better and don't need all the frills then this is definitely the place to go!

Adams name popped up with 5 solid stars and I was immediately intrigued. His reviews were amazing, for very good reason. Then i saw his prices, for a second I thought this was too good to be true but the reviews were persuading enough for me to give him a call. I left him a voicemail and he returned my call within 10 minutes. Very nice and professional on the phone. He was able to get me in the next day at my time preference. This was amazing. Adam's hands are meant for massage. They are strong and they know just the spots to hit. I had been extremely sore, from daily exercise and neck strain from reading. He spent ample time on whatever spots I asked. My soreness has improved tremendously since I had his massage a week ago. I did not feel nervous or weird around him at all, as a younger woman in a mans house getting a massage. It was a warm and relaxing environment and Adam was very laid back yet professional. I also happen to know a lot about serial killers and all that, but when someone else said that they chose to go to a strange man's house for a massage and take off their clothes and it was amazing, I believed that Internet stranger! And guess what, guys? Adam is amazing. It was the fastest hour of my life, and I nearly fell asleep. Adam knows how to put one at ease, not just with massage but with his demeanor. I will absolutely be back, and have recommended him to friends already. The fact the first one is only $25 is a huge selling point, and it was $25 well spent to say the least. I messaged him on Yelp and had a massage the next morning. (You may not want to start your day like this, turns out. I'd been experiencing pain for about six months before finally making an appointment so didn't expect all of the damage I'd done to be erased in one visit. Jenn asked a lot of questions and got to work. At first I saw Jenn every few weeks. She has used a combination of deep tissue massage, cupping, medi-cupping and has also used a variety of CBD lotions dependent on my pain levels. I really appreciate not only Jenn's abilities as a talented massage therapist, I have also gained so much knowledge from her on other holistic approaches to my healing: stretches and herbal remedies being only a few. Every appointment starts with a discussion about any issues I've had....and lots of times I just tell her to find the areas that seem tight...it really is amazing how she can find the spots to make other parts of my body feel better! Jenn is incredibly dedicated to her business and clients and I appreciate that she is willing to go above and beyond when we discuss issues I experience and how I can supplement my massages. Although I haven't taken advantage of some of the other offerings at Modality, I think that her addition of other treatment methods shows her dedication to providing options for anyone. While I only see Jenn about once a month now, making that first appointment really was one of the best choices I made for myself in a very long time not only physically but mentally as well. Our experience was okay- not bad but we weren't wowed by any means. The location was nice and cute going for a quaint spa vibe. There's some light snacks, water, coffee, and tea. It wasn't brought to our attention that there were showers, sandals, or additional post service accouterment like razors, combs, lotion, hair ties, dry shampoo, etc. It would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could come prepared. We were told about the robes available to use so that was nice. I've never had a maternity massage so I can't compare it but it was nice. Took a little trial and error to get comfortable. They offer a bolster to allow you to lie on your stomach. I think perhaps it's better suited for someone not so far along, or just with different anatomy. The hole for my stomach did not feel deep enough and I felt pressure on my belly which was uncomfortable. My masseuse was gracious to work with me to get comfortable on my side and had a bolster to lie on my back as well. The "scalp treatment" was pretty basic and left much to be desired. I think they put peppermint oil on their fingers and then push your hair around your head. It absolutely was not worth the time or price we paid. I kept my opinions to myself as I tend to be a tougher critic than my husband but as we left he mentioned his thoughts on the "scalp treatment"- his words were I could have done without that- the hair dresser does a better job- I agree. We usually go to Panacea Spa but they were booked so a friend suggested Woodhouse Spa. It's really difficult to compare the two as Panacea is a true luxury experience albeit with a price tag to match. With our scalp add ons we paid almost the same as we would have at Panacea and by no means was it a paralleled experience. We might consider trying a basic massage service again but certainly not our first pick here in Columbus. Not bad just not amazing.
