Trying to reach the front desk for scheduling or changes is impossible. It is not unusual if I try to schedule or need to make a change to have to call ten times in a row before reaching someone. Often I show up to check in and no one is at the front desk to check me in which means the therapist thinks I am not there and session starts late. Service has really gone downhill at this location. read more

Being new to Columbus, I sought a massage place and had never really given Massage Envy a thought so I was in search of a new preferred therapist. Receptionist: At this location, they are not as friendly as other locations. They don't offer recommendations based upon my needs. When I did ask for someone to address my concerns, the therapist admitted during our session that the receptionist did not give me accurate information. Therapist: Did a good job of addressing my needs given their skills did not exactly match up with my desired massage requests. He was friendly, talkative, and provided good treatment. I've used Massage Envy for massages but yesterday was the first time for a facial. It was not worth the money. It wasn't even 45 minutes long and I didn't feel any different and my skin didn't look any different after I was done. Her 'recommendation' was to do a 90 minute facial next time and buy their Vitamin C product, both of which costs more money. I was very disappointed in the service. read more

We received poor customer service from an incompetent Clerk at Massage Envy in Westerville, Ohio. It was supposed to be our time so we can check them out. We initially called to find out if they have any available for a couple and was told that they have at 5:00 pm. We went to the place to check the area where it's located. We went inside and spoke to Jen and asked again if there's any appointment available for a couple for the day and was then again told about the 5:00 pm appointment. We then scheduled the appointment and Jen had ask for our credit card to guarantee our appointment. We were then asked to come in at least 10 minutes before 5 to fill out some paperwork... and we left their office, cancelled some of our plans so we can be on time for this "guaranteed" massage appointment. We came back in at least 25 minutes before our appointment. Kiana, the other rep asked for our names so she can check us in but our name was not in the system. Just remember now that this was a "guaranteed" appointment with our credit card getting swiped 'twice'! Kiana had us both sat down to fill out paperwork and we noticed that Jen was scrambling to figure out what excuse she could give us to tell us that she messed up! After a few minutes sitting there and completing the form Jen asked us if we can in a separate room. This was after she supposedly had booked us for a "guaranteed" appointment!!! To make the long story short, the big lady Jen sitting on the front desk screwed up because she wasn't paying attention on her JOB! Great job Massage Envy for hiring incompetent people in your company!!! We came all the way from Maryland, had to cancel some our plans with friends just to have some time together getting a massage and this is the experience we received from Massage Envy! I had a two hour massage gifted to me for Massage Envy. As usual, the time slipped by too fast for me...massages are just so wonderful that you want them to last forever. Cameron gave a deep enough rub to offer some relief of built up tension it my shoulders. He was super nice and made sure i was comfortable. Granted, I have been to some swankier places....and I really dig that vibe much better than the low key vibe here. However, it was so affordable.....89.00 for two hours! What a wonderful present! My husband bought me an hour massage session as a gift. I had never had one before and was SUPER EXCITED (I had been hinting at him for awhile that I would like to get one....but you know men...it takes a minute before they get the hint). Anywho, I called them up to schedule my massage. I wanted to get it done ASAP and they had an appointment available for 8pm that night (AWESOME!!! I love that they are open late because between work, kids & sports sometimes late night is all that I am available). So I arrive 10 minutes early to fill out the required paperwork. After that I am called back to my room and told to undress and put this sheet thing on over me (you can leave as much or as little clothing on as you like). As soon as I was done getting naked (or almost) the massage therapist knocked on the door and asked if he could come in. He put massage oil/lotion on his hands and started rubbing me down. And I must say, it felt FANTABULOUS. He paid special attention to my back & should (have been having pain there for years) and he made it very clear if he was massaging too hard or soft to let him know and he would adjust accordingly. They made it very clear from the time I walked in, that my massage was "all about me" and let my massage therapist know if there is an area that I would like him to focus more time on. I would recommend this location. I don't understand all the bad reviews. The ladies at the front desk were very nice & very informative. They could not have been more helpful. read more

My mom and I had gift cards but there was an issue with one of them and they didn't stop until they had the issue figured out so we wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. I went in last night for a 90 minute massage and 60 minute facial as a birthday present from my husband. While I did thoroughly enjoy my massage and facial, it was my first time doing this and I didn't feel very informed on what to do once I got into the room. I did have to call the therapist back and ask him what the process was. That's the only complaint I had. I felt great last night and still do today. A sucker for a deal, I decided to treat my wife and I to their one hour intro for $39 each deal. I was a little hesitant to go to a "strip mall" masseuse but it turned out ok in the end. We ended up getting there a few minutes late, but they rushed our paperwork so it was about 6:10 when our massage started. It seems a bit unfair to me to advertise a "one hour" massage, but then only massage for half of that (10 minutes before and after for changing, and even with a 6pm appt, which we arrived late for, we were out the door by 6:55). But I guess it might get better after the intro. The massage itself was ok, I guess, don't really have much to compare it to since it's not my normal bag. It was definitely only a relaxation massage though, although I think she did a bit of deep tissue work around my shoulderblades and back knots. Do I feel better? yes.. Do I feel great? not really. Was it worth it? only for the intro price... We managed to get out without too much badgering to get us to sign up for their membership package. read more

I received a gift card for 75 dollars to massage envy as a present and decided to use it. I called and scheduled an appointments. They asked me over the phone if I had been to a massage envy before where I told them that I was given a groupon to one that I had redeemed. They told me that did not count as a visit so they would gladly give me the introductory rate of 50 dollars for a 1 hour massage. I scheduled it for a Friday at 4. Upon arrival they had me fill out a standard medical form. They walked me into the waiting room and the masseuse received me. The massage itself was great. Wonderful massage. The check out process was a different story. On check out they asked me how it was where i told them i was pleased with the massage. The checkout girl told me that they would have to charge me the non-member non-introductory rate as the groupon visit according to her interpretation was considered a visit. She tried to charge me 25 dollars more than I was told on the phone. I told her that I was told over the phone that it was the introductory rate of 50 and eventually made her honor the deal where she charged me the original 50 dollars. At this point I was a little irritated but at least was able to make her eventually do the right thing and honor the introductory charge. I proceeded to inquire about the member rates. She told me that since i visited that day that they would waive the enrollment fee of 50 dollars. I told her that I would be on vacation for the next 3 weeks and that I would like to think about it and possibly join on my return. She told me that if I did not sign up immediately that I would be charged an enrollment fee. Her tone and attitude despite her doing what she was taught to do made her seem like she did not care for my business and only wanted me to sign up right away. It was a high pressure sale which is standard in that industry however her attitude made it seem like my business was not appreciated and that I was simply a number. In the end my great massage was ruined by the checkout process due to her attitude. If they had friendlier more courteous staff at the front then this place would be an excellent massage venue. Until they change out the front counter staff or teach them manners this place is not worth going to. read more

I gave this location 4 stars only because on more than one occasion I have had a difficult time calling in to schedule an appointment. I continue to have scheduling and customer service issues at this location. The most resent prompting this review occurred today. I called Friday and scheduled a massage and a facial for Monday. I called today to cancel the massage portion. Not only did they not have me scheduled for the massage they did not have my facial appt either. She asked me if I wanted to schedule a service and I responded I would like to do the facial at my original requested time. Her response was Mmmmm no but I can do four hours later. Ummmmm no thanks.
