My family and I went to try the buffet. The menu has always been decent so how could the buffet be so terrible? It was disgusting. Everything had been sitting out so long that it was dried out and chewy. The General Tso's had no flavor except sweet. The rice was gummy. The spring rolls are not made there and obviously from frozen. Everything was cold. The hottest thing on there was the soup. The salad bar was not sitting on ice. Dressings just in bowls on a counter. Nothing to keep them cold. Same with the sushi. Also, is it so hard to do dishes that you just have stacks of styrofoam plates? $15 got this buffet and flimsy styrofoam to serve it on. ‍ It was disgusting. We will never be back. Also, get a liquor license. At least to serve beer and wine. What a waste of money for us. read more

Great spot for lunch! True Value is defined by 2 things when I eat. Experience - Cost and Katana has great value! The atmosphere is clean with a beautiful design. Yes the sushi is not 5 star but it is sushi, it is delicious and it is well prepared. The food was cooked perfectly for me, the waitress kept my drink refilled and all for a great lunch special price I had the Bento Box lunch special all for around $11 which is amazing! It was presented perfectly even though it seems difficult to eat from 4 squares it really isn't as bad as you think. It is a lunch item so you don't get a whole lot but it was delicious and perfect portioned for a Big Man as myself to eat. I got the Chicken Teriyaki, Miso soup, 4 California rolls and edamame beans. The Edamame beans were the only thing I didn't like but that's just my preference Overall if your looking for Lunch I can tell you that you have to keep in mind that your not eating at a 5 star restaurant here and your not eating at a fast food chain either. If you can accept that then you will have a great experience! I recommend this for families, dates or low level clients. read more

I ordered the steak teriyaki bento box (which I always order). I always order the steak medium rare...it was medium to well done. There used to be 4 slices of a sushi roll...now there is only 3 slices. The edamame was not as good as it used to be. I wanted fried rice...I was served white rice. Oh, Katana... I love you, but I can't trust you. I've been here several times now and have experienced great service and also very poor service. I always, always go with sushi rolls, which have never let me down. I try to order a different roll each time I dine, and I've never had a roll I didn't like. I would not, however, say that these are the best sushi rolls I've ever had. Katana has a beautiful atmosphere. Everything is clean and well-kept. The decor is superb and updated, a rarity in this area. My one complaint is the music. It is the same. music. every. time. i. dine. AND on about a 5 song repeat. Oh well, good thing I'm there to enjoy my food and not to be entertained. I will continue to come back here religiously. I do, however, wish they could work through these few kinks, particularly their service. read more

I recently moved back to the area and was happy to know there was a place nearby where I could possibly get my sushi and miso soup fix. I ordered carry-out and got the shrimp tempura bento box lunch. It came with miso soup, edamame, 4 pieces of California roll, and steamed rice. The miso soup was the most bland soup I have ever had. The broth was clear, not the brown color that rich, flavorful miso soup usually is. The shrimp tempura had no flavor, nor did the vegetables it comes with. The California roll was not fresh and I was not about to risk eating the other 3 pieces. I know this is Ohio and sushi isn't going to be like what I've had on the west coast, but I was hoping for better. I have had delicious sushi in Cleveland and Columbus and was hoping for the best I will not go here again. read more

Went in today for lunch. Was told since it was the 1st of January there were no lunch specials. Checked their web site, No notice of no lunch on the 1st, Nothing on their Facebook either, or either of the doors leading into the dining area. I get to some people there are such things as "Holidays" but not this person. They are just another day in the 365.25 day year. If you want to negate your weekly specials on a weekday that's your right as the owner. If your going to do that then post it. I will not be returning to this place. Its completely empty every time i go in and food is overpriced for quality and serving sizes. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Tuscarawas county. The dinner prices can be a little on the high side but they have very good lunch specials. I've convinced several non-sushi eaters to change their mind by giving them a bite of my crunchy or spicy shrimp roll there. My kids love the sweet potato and Boston rolls and Gary likes their teriyaki chicken. The bento boxes can leave a little to be desired but work for a light lunch, and their hibachi is delicious. Unfortunately, this is a smaller restaurant so they do not have hibachi floor shows like the other places I've been to. Nice atmosphere and usually very calm and quiet. They seem to have a steady flow of servers in and out, so there have been times where the service left something to be desired. If they can get their servers to match the food this would be an amazing place, right now it's just great. read more

I have only ever had the sushi at this restaurant, but based only on that I love this place. It's never packed, and the service is fast. They have a wide variety of sushi at a decent price. It's not a dance place, and not the best sushi I've ever had but it's quick, delicious, and cheap. They also have really good lava cake for dessert. I have not had any other food options but my parents go for lunch and receive a really good deal on food. The food is Hibachi style, but is not cooked in front of you. They have lunch specials every day. I would say for something consistent and cheap this is a go to, but it is not like Hibachi style restaurants if that is what you are looking for. Decided to try this restaurant instead of our normal Sunday sushi place. They are under new management and while I don't know what it was like then I can say that I was very pleased with the sushi. Flavor, taste, texture, and presentation were all phenomenal. While the hibachi was just ok the fried rice was awful but again the sushi more then made up for it. read more

I was one of the first customers the day the doors open. Leo and Tiffany have created a wonderful restaurant that brings new flavors to a small town. Leo came to this neighborhood after working at Wasabi's in Canton, Ohio. They are kind to their clients and if something goes wrong they fix it immediately. I was ill and an error had been made to my order, I did not find it till I got home. Out of their own time, they drove to my house to correct the order within minutes. The food is delicious, and the lunch prices are amazingly reasonable. The dinner prices are a little steep. The only thing that could make this a full 5 stars is if they had the full Hibachi experience. I do know they were talking about expanding to do just that..I can not wait to see it happen. read more
