Great spot for lunch! True Value is defined by 2 things when I eat. Experience - Cost and Katana has great value! The atmosphere is clean with a beautiful design. Yes the sushi is not 5 star but it is sushi, it is delicious and it is well prepared. The food was cooked perfectly for me, the waitress kept my drink refilled and all for a great lunch special price I had the Bento Box lunch special all for around $11 which is amazing! It was presented perfectly even though it seems difficult to eat from 4 squares it really isn't as bad as you think. It is a lunch item so you don't get a whole lot but it was delicious and perfect portioned for a Big Man as myself to eat. I got the Chicken Teriyaki, Miso soup, 4 California rolls and edamame beans. The Edamame beans were the only thing I didn't like but that's just my preference Overall if your looking for Lunch I can tell you that you have to keep in mind that your not eating at a 5 star restaurant here and your not eating at a fast food chain either. If you can accept that then you will have a great experience! I recommend this for families, dates or low level clients.

Great sushi. We also had the hibachi chicken. It was very good and was presented well. There was a half price sake that we took advantage of. Great service. I am so happy there is sushi in Dover!!

The sushi was weird. Dirty bathrooms and foyer. 5 and 12 year-olds were our waiters. Guy making sushi was rude. Pass on this place.

Horrible! Zero flavor and slow service. Food was cold. Save your money and go somewhere else.

We were denied because it was just the 2 of us. We were seated in a dark area away from everyone else. We waited 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us after we were seated to take our drink orders. Our plates were mostly filled with rice. My husband ordered the chicken-steak combo hibachi and got very little meat While sitting waiting on our food which we got 35 minutes after being seated - I had the pleasure to observe the front cashier. She was more interested in her phone and eating than anyone who walked in or waiting on people who walked up to her. Once our waiter did come over he was very courteous and nice. My husband said he saw him helping other staff when we walked in. Good possibility whoever seated us did not inform him we were seated. Our food was hot and good for what we got, my soup bowl barely had soup in it and my husband's plate barely had meat. Step up Sumo! This was a much better restaurant when you first opened. Also, could you have your staff where uniforms or at least a shirt saying Sumo on it. You couldn't tell who worked there and who didn't.

The inside was very modern with a decent sized dining area and sushi counter. Their menu is very large with a wide variety of appetizer, sushi, ramen, and hibachi choices. They were also doing a $22 Sunday Special which had a huge portion! The service to start was a bit scattered and we felt a bit pressured to ordered immediately. As time went on, things improved. Our group ended up ordering the Fried Calamari (a bit small of a portion) & Gyoza appetizers which were thoroughly liked by the group. For mains, we ordered a variety of sushi rolls, ramen, and noodle dishes. The Lo Mein style noodle dish had a very large portion and great flavor. The favorite sushi rolls were the Eel & Cucumber, Spicy Crab, and all Specialty rolls. All "spicy" sushi was rather mild. All presentation aspects exceeded my expectations! The staff was kind to bring out a complimentary dessert and sing happy birthday for our guest of honor. This was incredibly kind to make our experience that much better!

For appetizers, we tried their egg rolls, and they might honestly be in the top ten egg rolls I have ever had--paired with the old-school hot mustard and duck sauce, they absolutely did the trick. I also tried the coconut shrimp soup; it was flavorful, creamy, and a very unique dish that I had never seen before. My wife ordered the Kani roll and the Rainbow roll, both of which featured incredibly fresh ingredients and beautifully balanced flavors. For my main course, I went with the General Tso's chicken, which was perfectly crispy and wonderfully flavored. The interior is sparse and I saw some dirty tables while I waited. I liked the look of some of the boba teas I saw other customers get, but I was too cheap to buy one for myself. I was (and always am) craving a poke bowl so I ordered a grilled chicken poke bowl with edamame, sweet potatoes, seaweed salad, kimchi, and ginger dressing and waited about 15 loooooong minutes for it to be ready. Imho, I think my chicken poke bowl was overpriced at $14 even though I chose the cheapest protein options and stuck to only 4 add-ons as I didn't want to pay another $0.75 for each additional topping. I think the rest of the menu is also overpriced as well. I did like my bowl in the end though and found it all pretty tasty. I have has better poke bowl experiences before and know of quite a few other places that are much more generous. But I had a craving and was in the area. I just wish I could have gotten tuna or salmon as my protein without having to pay 2 or 3 more dollars on top of it. And why did it take so long to make?? I dunno, I think I'm just being impatient because I was running late to work lol.
