We visited on an early Saturday evening and started our meal with the Dragon Fruit Mojito, which was perfectly mixed and extremely refreshing. For appetizers, we tried their egg rolls, and they might honestly be in the top ten egg rolls I have ever had--paired with the old-school hot mustard and duck sauce, they absolutely did the trick. I also tried the coconut shrimp soup; it was flavorful, creamy, and a very unique dish that I had never seen before. My wife ordered the Kani roll and the Rainbow roll, both of which featured incredibly fresh ingredients and beautifully balanced flavors. For my main course, I went with the General Tso's chicken, which was perfectly crispy and wonderfully flavored. The sushi and cooked meals are wonderful! The service we received for our party of 5 was the best!! Love the whole restaurant, it's vintage look, high ceilings, beautiful!! Our only hiccup was the reservation I made through yelp wasn't picked up by them. They had no idea we were coming in....so we sat and waited looking like losers who "drop in" with 5 people like we own the place. Rather embarrassing and it was noted on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Oh well... It's ok. We will return but will call to make reservations next time. read more

***ALLERGY ALERT*** I have a shellfish and tree nut allergy. I ordered the pad Thai for carry-out. We very specifically told the person on the phone that I have a shellfish allergy and therefore my meal should NOT be made with shrimp, and it should be prepared carefully with no contamination. The person taking the order repeated the order back twice, and both times said there would be no shrimp or shellfish contamination. We brought the meal home to find shrimp in it. Thankfully my husband saw it before I started eating as the shrimp was covered. This could have ended VERY differently. Atmosphere: This is a frequent haunt for take -out and dine-in for us. I typically get the same thing every time and so does my partner. The inside is clean, have never had a rude server one time in the half a dozen times we have been here. But I will say to be careful with pick-up orders, Out of 4 times we have ordered for pick-up, 2 times it was messed up. One time in which my sauces were missing and the other time, we were given just the completely wrong order. The restaurant is very clean, the bathroom especially is immaculate and it always smells good in the restaurant! Food: Like I said, we are both creatures of habit. I always get the chicken satay appetizer which is more than enough for one person. There are 4 chicken skewers that come in the order and usually I will have 2 and then I will save 2 for later or to have for lunch at work the next day. It comes with peanut sauce (the best I ever had) and their Thai vinaigrette. It is perfect dipped in their peanut sauce and then Thai vinaigrette. Delicious. My partner always get the crispy pineapple chicken. She absolutely loves it and always has leftovers. She always orders an egg roll with it which she also loves. Unquestionably the best Chinese food around. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Even the crab Rangoon is terrific.

One word. Delicious! My husband and I went here with some friends while in town. It was in the middle of the day on a Monday and still had a fun and lively vibe. There were so many good options on the menu, we had a hard time deciding what to order. We really wanted to try a little of several items. We started with the Tempura Asparagus, the Minced Chicken Salad, and the Thai Salad. All were excellent. They had a great presentation of the asparagus. The Thai dressing is definitely what made the Thai Salad so good. We then split the Pad Thai and Spicy Peanut Curry. Both were great. I ordered a seasonal Apple Caramel Mule. It was pretty good. The ginger beer was the flavor that stood out most to me. Delaney was our server and was wonderful. I just the worst by far Sesame chicken I have ever had! The chicken was so over cooked it was dry inside. There were no broccoli or vegetables with it. It was pure honey with water. The sauce was none existent. The portion was very small also. Not worth near the $17 I paid. Never again. read more

Drove 35 mins to try this place. The hostess was rude. Said they weren't taking any walk ins because they had way too many reservations l. I've never heard of a restaurant turning down walk in all together and not giving a time to come back later in the night. I ordered takeout from Basil Asian Bistro and was extremely disappointed. I ordered the Panang Curry with shrimp, which already comes with an upcharge for the shrimp, and what I received was essentially half a container of sauce with a few pieces of basil and a handful of shrimp. There were no vegetables, no peppers, nothing that you would normally expect in a curry dish. To make matters worse, the container wasn't even close to full--less than half for a dish that costs about $15 plus the shrimp upgrade. It honestly felt like I was paying full price for leftovers. I rarely write reviews, but this was so disappointing that it felt necessary. This level of quality and portioning is unacceptable and unfortunately cost this restaurant what would have been a repeat customer. Very shameful. read more

Came in on a hoppin Saturday night 10 days before Christmas and the place was packed! If you come on the weekend reservations are probably a good idea. Parking will be hit/miss, you might get somewhere close. You might park 4 blocks away like I had to. The inside has a nice vibe as it's situated in an older building with lots of brick. The place is loud if it's busy so be prepared for that. The food is all really good, from the pho to the rangoons and egg rolls to all the sushi. My only chief complaint and I'm offering grace here because I know it was busy, is that it took a solid 25-30 minutes to get the appetizers after we got our drinks. Just ordered sushi through door dash and if I was not familiar with how great this place normally is I would probably never order anything from here again. We eat in and get takeout out weekly for years with amazing food. This time, wow! Horrible! Got sashimi instead of sushi for the octopus. It was tough and not eatable. Crab stick sushi was shredded crab (not even a clue). My rainbow roll was tiny and had some very fishy tasting pieces. Rolls were rolled loose and some pieces had no fish. WOW! This place is fantastic. I ate there twice this week while working in Canton, and for the life of me I can't figure out why they barely have 4 stars. I had the Siam Curry one night. And the crispy roasted duck the other. Both were fantastic. The prices are very reasonable, all the food we ordered, and that I saw on other tables looked great. I've been here a few times now and I am not crazy about it. The ginger salad dressing is very bitter so I'd avoid that; it's not like what you'd get at a hibachi or sushi house. I had the pineapple chicken it was ok but nothing over the standard of a typical take out Chinese place. My husband had sushi and it was majority cream cheese which was kind of a turn off. We went with three other couples and almost every order was wrong. It just seemed like a jumbled up mess. Drinks were good. I will probably never do carry out again, the wonton soup hilariously had NO wontons, I opened it up and it was all broth and cabbage (see attached) So I paid over $5 for liquid....awesome. The Kani salad which was a whopping $10.00 (its $5.95-7.95 at every other local restaurant) was about 3-4 bites of a portion, and it was just kani, there was no cucumber, avacado, sesame seeds, just about a 1 oz maybe 2 oz portion of kani, highly disappointed, I understand its covid and I hate leaving negative reviews during this time (and typically don't) but when people order for lunch they are usually at work and there is no way to resolve these issues....I tried calling the business twice and it just rang off the hook. The ambiance is beautiful. The service is good. The food is fine. But the restaurant week menu is actually more expensive than if you would have ordered the individual items separately on their own. It doesn't make sense; restaurant week usually means you get a little bit of a deal, not a little bit of an up-charge. And the choices were pretty limited; made WAY more sense to order off the regular menu. Either way, it was a nice dinner with friends. The crab Rangoon was good. Soup and pad Thai were fine. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was good and it was strong and it was expensive. I would have added a couple more luxardo cherries though! My favorite. If I could do it all over again, I likely would have chosen something else for my meal. The server's assistants were particularly attentive. My water never went empty and they were very friendly.
