Ok, this was like a 4-5 years ago but people i know and my family including me got sick from here. let me explain. me, my sister and my dad went out to here. we got our food and stuff. we i was just in space looking around, i saw one of the employees take some food that was on the counter back into the food bin which in NASTY of course. my dad then saw another employee take some sushi from the kitchen and put it by the desert. we were like "WHAT?! why would you put raw fish by deserts?!" and we are still wondering why you would do that since that don't make sense. after we went home, we realized i got sick from the place then the next day my sister got sick. ima just say that we never went to that place ever again. read more

I love Chinese buffets, and I was in town on vacation, so I tried this one. My experience was similar to many of the other reviewers. First, the price was $13.95 + tax. There were several two-sided rows of the buffet. Much of the food was not very warm, though, and appeared to have been sitting out a long time. I got dishes I usually get a Chinese buffets: green beans, pepper steak, chicken with broccoli, lo mein, mushrooms, California roll, and crab rangoon. The food tasted OK, but the temperature was the problem. The chicken rangoon was a yummy surprise that I had not tasted before. Best part of the meal was the soft-serve ice cream. Yum! Went here because we were craving Chinese food and there wasn't really anywhere else in the area open. The staff got us seated and got us our drinks quickly which was nice.the Inside was clean and really did a good job with the Chinese decor. The food was mostly just ok. Nothing to really complain about but nothing to rave about either. The one positive and one negative exception to this was the wonton soup and the peanut chicken. The wonton soup was one of the most flavorful and delicious I've ever had and honestly it was worth it to go there just for that. The peanut chicken was really weird. Peanut chicken is usually served savory to meld the natural flavor of peanut and chicken together well but theirs was really sweet and it almost felt like I was eating peanut butter and jelly on chicken which was gross. The best time to go in is about 15 minutes after opening to 1 1/2 hours. The food I'd hot and fresh. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Honestly I do not like my food under the heat lamps for long. Including after the new food gets brought out the old food gets placed on top of the new food. Since we are limited in All You Can Eat restaurants in the area and I'd rather support locally this one fits the situation. I love the booth section over the chairs. read more

The only reason we go here is it is the only Buffet in town, used to like the food, but after the pandemic it changed. They changed the Chinese staff out for the Guatemala staff. Changed the flavor, if we want Guatemala food. We would go to the Mexican restaurant. We never before, but started going to the Golden Carrel. We go here only when we don't feel like driving. We also found a Buffet in Sandyvalley area. We eat out quite offended, so they know us when we show up. Most of our friends and family don't like eating Guatemala Chinese food.​ read more

I was craven a buffet and was happy when I found this one but was skeptical because of the bad reviews.... but decided to go anyway! They had 6 large tables of food, 4 hot 2 cold. The salad bar was impressive for a Chinese place, I enjoyed all my dishes and tried almost everything except the soups! All the food was tasty and I was not disappointed with any of it. The waiters are on the ball with refilling our drinks and clearing the plates, the place is clean! Don't be deterred by the bad reviews this is an awesome buffet!! read more

This place is normally one of the better restaurants in the area, however I was disappointed this time . We did get seated to our table very quickly which is a big plus. We ordered a water, pink lemonade, sweet tea, and coffee to start off with. We were given the lemonade, sweet tea, water, and MILK. The lemonade wasn't the best that I've had there but not the worst I've ever had. We did get the coffee after we got the attention of an employee. The food was colder than preferred but it was still warm enough to not make a complaint. I still plan on returning one day but this was definitely not the best experience. read more

Excellent variety of food! My family has always enjoyed our meals here. Take-out is convenient, always easy and quick... simply pay by weight of the food. There are many items, but I have my go-to items I can't get away from... lol. Peanut chicken, dim sum, pot stickers, dumplings, with a soy/garlic dipping sauce for the first plate. Teryaki chicken, assorted mushrooms, treasure chicken, coconut shrimp, General Tso's, and usually another chicken that catches my eye for the second plate. Chase it with a little vanilla soft serve and I am a happy dude! Service has been very good for a buffet, and the employees seem very attentive to the food itself on the lines. Never, ever have any of my family members become ill from eating here... except for maybe eating too much food :) read more

This place has gone from good (not! Great) to ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! The squid was rubbery! The A-1 steak was tuff! The Buffalo chicken was overdone! The only things good was the rice and angel hair noodles. The manager was terrible and didn't give a shit!! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

Probably the best Chinese buffet in the Dover-New Phila area. We had a large party of 15+ people. Everyone got to eat what they wanted without any wait. The severs were very friendly and responsive. The food was very fresh. The variety of choices was expansive, and not only Chinese food. My only slight criticism was that the organization of the buffet lines is a little random, so you might find a dessert next to the soup. I recommend you look over all the selections so you don't miss out on your favorites. read more

There's a nice variety of food there, I'll give them that. I always liked their coconut shrimp and scallops wrapped in bacon. However, the last few times I've eaten there I've gotten sick immediately after. Plus, my parents have gotten food poisoning twice from eating there. I say give it a pass in favor of the better Chinese restaurants around here. read more

Oh WHERE shall I begin?? So yesterday 2-1-21 my soon and I went to Empire China Buffet NOT IMPRESSED in the least bit. They are wiping YOUR tables down from a bucket of water, using the SAME gloves, to serve you with. She took our glasses to get refills grabbed another customers plate, filled our glasses up without changing them out nor washing her hands from picking up someone's plate. WE walked out, I talked to the manager, who did seem to be nice, but still charged up for a half a plate of food (should've been free after that)! I also saw afterwards that on January 18th a 7 year old boy found a cockroach in his sweet and sour chicken only after I went there was I made aware of this issue. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN, DIRTY, UNPROFESSIONAL, NOT SANITARY, AND I'VE GOT FOOD POISONING TO TOP IT OFF! I CALLED THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT! Their food also didn't look fresh either which makes me wonder how often they switch it out. I wish I could've uploaded the pictures and video I took. My son and I now have FOOD POISONING to top it off!! Please don't go here unless you want to get sick! read more

We heard a few good things about this place, and since it was the only buffet we knew in town, we decided to visit. We were hungry upon arrival. We walked in, were greeted and server walked us to a table. Immediately, they asked for our drink order. Honestly, in customer service, especially in restaurants, this is tacky. We walked around to look at the variety of foods they offered. Alot of it looked greasy and very heavily buttered. The salad bar was awful. No spinach, no romaine. Few selection of vegetables for hot dishes. Some areas were messy, ugh. A few chicken items were tasty, but the hot wings were dry and not sauced enough, The chow mein was overcooked, miso soup,,, I've had better. The only thing I could say i was pleased with was the sushi. Not much of a desert selection. I could go on, but won't be back. Staff needs to be friendlier, put on a smile. Its a buffet, all you can eat. I love their Hot & Sour Soup, and their Chicken Terriyaki Skewers. IT feeds the family at a decent price but its not a 5 star restaurant. The servers barely speak English and often sit there talking about people. You can't understand them but you can see them pointing at people. I happen to really really like this Chinese restaurant! They do chicken well a number of different ways. They even have some beef that I like which is uncommon for a Chinese restaurant. They've got the four topper and rangoons which I like and quite a huge selection. If you're craving Chinese in this area you're not gonna do you any better, so have at it! read more
