I haven't ever been a handbag girl but I have been wanting to get into the bag charm game to accessorize my Disney fits and in order to properly utilize a bag charm I need a cute lil handbag to adorn! I did some research online before stopping by Kate Spade at South Coast. The staff were very attentive and definitely wanted me to take a look at some of the more popular (pricey) handbags but I knew what I was looking for and found it pretty quickly. I like that they sell the bags at the outlet prices so I could get a discount without going all the way to the outlet or ordering online. They also wrapped it up very aesthetically. Kate Spade New York will remain my favorite brand of all time for jewelry, fragrance and Disney designed sweatshirts. I stumbled upon this shop at South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA., was because I was visiting their Nordstrom on the second floor. Decided to stick around for window shopping. They had super colorful designs out as usual going off from merchandise such as handbags, wallets, tops, bottoms.... But I was in a hurry out so didn't find anything to bring home. I was in there today with my mom because what she had got me for Valentine's Day I didn't like so I wanted to exchange or take it back. The last time I was in here a very nice employee by the name of Katella was so nice and helpful. She treated me with kindness, was helpful and non judgmental. However today was not the same at all. There was a nice lady in front, but the older lady who was in the rest of the store was so unpleasant and made me feel as if I was a criminal. As my mom and I were looking at the jewelry she kept a close eye on us and kept hovering over us as if we were going to steal. She even asked why we were in and I thought it was obvious we had a return or exchange because we had a store bag with us. I believe her name was Wendy. She had glasses on and looked very unprofessional dressed in a wrinkly black t-shirt and black pants. This lady whom I believe on the return receipt says Wendy was so off putting and made me and my mom feel so uncomfortable. I kept telling my mom that I'd rather take our business to the Kate Spade up in Century City. She should learn of how to be professional like Katella and Yesenia are. We were already having a not so good day and Wendy made it that much more unpleasant. Softest red leather gloves with tassels on the backs , even works with touch screens (thumb and pointer finger feature magnets that allow this ) Not every glove offers this component but Kate spade does . I always have such a wonderful experience shopping here and the sales are to die for, but on my most recent visit I wasn't actually planning to walk out with something since I was merely checking out the sizes of two purses I was looking for. At the time, there was a really good deal for additional 30% off sale items. The toujours purses were just released in October but some of the colors were on sale. Now I normally purchase black and neutral colors only, but in this particular sale my eyes were drawn to the cherrywood color which resembled more of a wine red. I also usually stick to small cross bodies but I was really interested in the design of the medium satchel. There was something about the open purse with middle security pocket that really made me want to try it out. The associate, Kere Z, was super helpful in making a decision. She brought out several different colors and sizes and when I finally picked the purse I wanted she brought out everything that was on the floor so that we could look at which ones had the least amount of blemishes. I typically like to order online as the purses come from their warehouse in Kentucky. There was a slight blemish on mine that I honestly wouldn't have even seen if Kere didn't point it out. Nonetheless, I opted to buy the one in store since I just couldn't wait any longer to get my hands on it. But I did appreciate the fact that Kere was really invested in making sure I made the right purchase. Overall, I'm not surprised by the excellent customer service that Kate Spade provides. Apparently it opened the day I went (03/26/16), but there are no directory updates on the South Coast plaza or the Kate Spade website yet, but I will update the suite numbers, phone number, hours as I find out. This shop is pretty big, and carries the purses, accessories and jewelry, like most Kate Spade stores and outlet stores. I purchased the black Candace bag here at this location just to be treated as if I was unwelcome . I have spoken to one of the workers (who's name I do not know) and also another worker (seem to be the manger) name is Abbey . They both ignored me... Gotta love this new Kate Spade store. They have everything that you could hope for in the new collection and more, except perhaps the sales! I love their bright colours (what KS fan doesn't?) and especially the hot new rose motif for this season. The dresses were beautiful and I was pleased to see that they offered more than their traditional A-line style which can be less than flattering, if you aren't a size 0. We were greeted with champagne upon entry, even if we weren't there at the opening. A huge kudos to Dylan and Fernando from the catering company (eek, can't remember the name) for ensuring that we had a drink in hand while we shopped. As we perused the store, we were served tiny lobster rolls and kobe beef, and although I was saving my appetite for my Easter dinner, both were delish! Usually at these type of events they run out of everything; either that or the items are cold (here's looking at you, Neiman Marcus) especially if you arrive after opening. Not here, though! Although I did miss the beautiful roses that were given at store opening, before we left we were able to receive a small bouquet of sunflowers, thanks to the fine efforts of Jill, the district manager. In the past I had always gone to FI which could be hit and miss for service. So far I am impressed by this store and I look forward to visiting them again soon. Visited this location today and service was fantastic. I was looking for a wedding gift on their site and needed it today. It said "limited quantities" online and typically, that means they either have one/display or none at all. I gave them a ring anyways just to double check. The guy who helped me over the phone was so nice (I think his name is Daniel?). He knew exactly which product I was talking about and put me on hold to go find it. He was back on the line and placed the item on hold for me. When I arrived at the store, I was promptly greeted (well done). I said I have an item on hold and Daniel brought it up to the counter and even beautifully wrapped it up for me. I was in and out of that store within 5 mins. This is one of the best Kate Spade locations I've been to. My friend and I are huge Kate Spade fans and own a lot of her items. This store was definitely a must while shopping in OC! This location is really big. They have 4-5 different rooms. It was so cool! The first room had all of their new arrivals. Second room had jewelry and some other new items as well. I think the third-fourth rooms had some sale items, shoes, and homeware. Then there was a room with wedding/bridal items. It was crazy! Customer service was really good here. We had several sales associates come up to us asking if we needed any help. They were very helpful and friendly! We didn't end up buying anything that day, but they definitely had a bigger selection than most of the stores I've been to. Definitely need to stop by again next time I am at SCP! read more

I've purchased Kate Spade items online before, but never in person. I was looking to purchase a mini backpack, but felt the need to see and feel it in person before committing to the purchase. Went to South Coast and remembered this boutique was inside it, so decided to visit. I LOVE the look of the store. It's classy and cute. Wonderful array of items from simple and clean to colorful and whimsical. The workers are super nice although a couple of them don't seem to smile at first glance. I was helped by 3 different people and let's say I walked out of there with a new mini backpack. When I was carrying the bag to the check out, one of the workers tried to find a new one in the bag since I grabbed a displayed one; unfortunately she couldn't find one, but nonetheless her efforts amazed me! Emily is amazing!!!! She goes above and beyond for her customers and you can tell she truly enjoys working here. I bought a new bag and wanted to get it monogrammed. She helped me figure out what design would look best for my tag and even told me I can get something on the back too. Unfortunately, the person who does the personalizations wasn't in. However, Emily told me I could leave my tag for the weekend and she would have it shipped to me next day for free!! Also, I had a wallet from a different location that was falling apart and she offered to return it for me and replace it with a brand new one for free!!! The staffer who waited on me was very helpful; she asked me questions about my return, and then made some recommendations on what I might select as a replacement from among their in-store inventory. I love Kate Spade, however the ladies working in this store are very slow and more concentrated on selling you more products then catering to what you're actually asking them to help locate for you. A few days ago I seeked this store out to purchase a gift, upon finding out this specfic store doesn't have it, I asked them to order it for me and expedite it. This process took sooo long since they were so busy trying to convince me to buy other items that I wasn't intrested in. They brought out one product after another and went all "Ooo" and "Ahh its amazing" trying to Not so subtly make me purchase more items, one employee went as far as wearing a dress and paraded around the store announcing that this was the perfect New Year dress while I STOOD infront of the chekout waiting to finish the transaction that was a single item. The apperance of any new item made my checkout stop all together so all the employees there can comment on the item, example the dress or bag, in each color, each brought out separately. I swear my patience was running thin with this little game of theirs. I just wanted to buy the gift! I wrote my address twice and kept asking to be done with this long process. By the end of it I was asked for my card and the lady said the total quickly then went to finish the transaction when I asked her to pause then I said how did I end up with that total? Apparently another item which I clearly informed her I wasn't intrested in was added to my bill magically LOL Please make Kate Spade classy again when dealing with established customers, since this experience makes me weary of trusting this Store with my credit card ever again!!! read more

In my shopping travels I peaked inside very briefly without touching a thing. My search for summer sandals plagued onwards for something simple, classic and elegant but with a budget of $185.00 as the maximum limit. I must commend the courteous and well-mannered staff for customer service as I was sincerely and happily greeted upon my entrance. This boutique is nicely sized, and merchandise is cleanly displayed by style without a lot of clutter. Kate Spade is known for their high quality leather products of women's shoes, bags, wallets, clothing, ergo I am willing to shell out extra green papers with dearly departed U.S. Presidents in exchange for long term quality products. I love Kate Spade and am especially fond of her totes. I was traveling and stumbled upon this location at South Coast Plaza and decided to peruse after seeing an especially cute clutch shaped like a violin case in the display facing the mall entrance. I went into this store and found the employees on duty to all be very standoffish and not welcoming at all and instead of feeling like they were being helpful to shoppers I felt like I was being singled out and watched and judged throughout the store (it's not that big that every time I turn around that there needs to be an associate hovering over me with her judgy eyes). I felt like they were worried I would steal or damage product despite the fact that I was carrying a newish tote on my shoulder by Kate Spade as I walked around. As a disclaimer, I rarely put yelp reviews. This is actually my first negative review. This flagship store is brightly lit and has a large selection of bags and wallets. However, less can be said for their customer service. I went to the store this past Saturday afternoon with a cousin. My cousin showed me a floral dial watch from their new season. The Asian salesperson who was near us did not hesitate to ask if my cousin was "done with the watch so she could put it on the counter for us". I felt like my cousin and I were being judged and possibly accused of shoplifting. To make things worse (I probably should have left by this point), when I looked at dresses.. I picked up a dress to try on, and the same salesperson asked, "are you sure that's your size?". Please keep in mind I'm only 102 pounds, and I have bought several dresses from Kate spade in the past. This is completely unprofessional behavior. So I read some reviews where people got the snobby vibe. And I guess it depends who helps you really. The first time I came in to check out the sunglasses I wanted, no one bothered helping me and I was kind of put off with wanting it at all. I saw on the website that south coast didn't even carry black in those sunglasses but she opened the drawer up and there were three in the store. She was really nice and basically saved this entire review. She gave me both colors of the sunglasses cases and was super helpful the entire way. I suggest you come in and specifically ask for her if you are alone and need someone to help you choose because she will literally make the experience Kate Spade and give you her honest feedback!
