I had a well-worn pair of business-casual pants I recently accidentally ripped. I came here since the original pair were purchased at Banana and I liked them enough that I wanted to get something similar. Despite being at an outlet plaza and having signs proclaiming "50% OFF!" I didn't think the prices were much better than a "regular" Banana Republic store, even with the discount. The men's section, like all Banana Republic stores, is much smaller than the women's area. They have a large selection of shirts but not a great variety of pants. But I quickly found a pair which were almost exactly like the ones I had. And in my size! Yay! I came in today with a 50% off the entire store and if you compare prices online on which today was an additional 20% off, and I mentioned it to the clerk, they honored it. My grandson was looking for jeans and he's hard to please and hates trying them on. We finally found a couple pairs, the one he picked was regularly $105 which I never would pay. It was 50% off still pricey as he still growing, he's 14. But I knew he needed them for school so got them. Nobody helped us or anything we just wondered around. Yah I'm still stuck in the 90's when Banana Republic was at its peak. I still wear their boxers to this day. I saw some on sale online that I liked. Even checked to see if I could pick some up at Outlets in Orange...yep. Dread this place now like the plague. Anyways the place is clean and tidy cuz no one goes to BRF anymore. Checked to see if they had them in stock...nope. Not in the back, nowhere. Asked manager if they would honor the online price... nope. Oh well, take my money elsewhere. Btw BR especially online has this habit of rolling their prices UP and then magically say it's 50-60% off. ie a set of boxers msrp $60. Marked down to $30 months ago, then magically price goes UP to $36, then minus another X%. BR death spiral is nearing its end. read more

I can't help but be coaxed into the banana republic outlet, because you get high quality clothes at 40-60% off. I feel like I had to circle around the mall to find banana republic but it is located by a police office and across from Anne Loft. I felt lucky to come in today because it seemed like the clearance section had a lot of clothes that were my style and happened to have a 60% off on top of their sale prices. What's nice is there is a price checker to validate the sale prices :) Not a huge store but i believe there's a great selection w the men's selection on the left side, the women's on the right, and the dressing room in the back. As is the case with all Banana Republic's, whether it be an outlet store or one of their standard stores, this business is filled full of a nice selection of all styles of clothing. They have your casual all the way up to your formal wear. They also have a very good selection of things like sunglasses, jewelry, socks, you name it. ...All of the stuff that Banana Republic is known for. This is a large location. The aisles are well organized and you can easily find what you were looking for. The staff here are all very friendly and helpful. Though I suppose there's really not a lot of questions that they need to answer when you're looking for the style of clothing that Banana Republic has to offer. The Factory Outlet clothes are definitely different than the regular Banana Republic clothes. At the retail stores, the clothes are a little dressier or business-based. At the Factory Outlet, they're more casual. Different, too. (E.g. you won't see the same clothes in the retail vs outlet locations). Knowing that -- there are still some nice things you can get here. Banana Republic is in the City Drive outlet mall in Orange, California. The store is insufficient responsibility to perform the tasks during business hours. The associated and the manager were racism, making fun towards customers with diversity culture. The clothes are unorganized, dusty shelves, mismatch exhibitions inside the store. The Cashier at the Register are rudely, uncommunicative without courtesy, and never appreciated the customers. I would never recommend people shop at any Banana Republic store. read more

Few things - I have always liked this brand as they have decent & affordable clothes whenever they have a sale - the quality has been hit or miss lately, but importantly, for this particular store there is 2 issues 1. Lack of selection compared to the much better outlet in cabazon (to be fair it is farther away) 2. Poor and cold customer service experience I will expand a bit more on the 2. Returns, if you have taken off the tag and managed to lose them, are not possible, even if you have the receipt. They won't even allow an exchange. It is the policy, I don't mind now that I know and will be extra careful buying anything from this brand in the future Importantly, this message can be delivered with a smile instead of a rude and gruff demeanor that the service staff shows here. And this staff attitude seems to be different from the one I have interacted with in the past. I have probably been treated better at the DMV than the ppl supervising the checkout counter here I have spent many thousands of dollars in this store over the years but the attitude shown by the staff on a modest $45 return (ultimately not a big deal), has turned me off from using this store again in the future read more

Oh man, this could have easily been a 5-star review if it wasn't for a certain dark-haired lady. My first time in this outlet store, nice and big, they have a lot of different things with great prices! I was shopping for someone else. It's normal for one to take out the folded shirts and look at them. What's not normal is being followed by someone, who folds EVERY shirt you looked at, immediately after you looked at it. She clearly looked annoyed, so I apologized (not that I had to) for making a mess, (it wasn't a mess). The dark-haired lady looked up at me without a word and obviously annoyed. She continued to follow me and my friends everywhere "cleaning up" after everything we looked at. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. How about you smile and ask if we need help? Despite the stalker-like behavior, we found some awesome deals. The younger blonde girl at the register was nice and personable. All you have to do is smile and say hi. The BR Factory Store is a far different experience than the regular store at South Coast Plaza. They have virtually the same clothes, but the service at this BR is not the same. I feel welcome at SCP, where I feel...nothing here. It's just cold from the lack of service. I like BR and their clothes. The store is pretty clean and orderly. I find that clothes at BR Outlets/ Factory Stores are mostly made up of much lower quality merchandise that's created specifically only for the outlet store (and not found in Regular Banana Republic stores). The outlet does indeed have a few pieces from the main mall stores, but a vast majority of the things inside the outlet stores isn't the same stuff you find at your local mall-based Banana Republic. If you really want to find a good deal @ BR Outlets, you really have to do some digging to find something good...a lot of times their stuff is mixed up all over the place; it just depends on the location. One quick way to tell whether that shirt you love is an "outlet" item, is to look at the label. If there are three dots beneath the words "Banana Republic" then it's an item created specifically for the outlet. Prices here are standard, even with a discount it still is not a killer deal, especially with outlets going towards merchandise that is made only for outlets (read lower quality). No clearance section at all, and a medium sized store. Absolutely average. To maximize discounts, like their Facebook page to find some internet discounts that can applied over top of store discounts. Banana Republic is my favorite hassle free store for all of my business attires. I love that it's conveniently located pretty close to the parking lot & I can always make a fast trip in & out. I pretty much I always run to this store before every presentation or training that I have to deliver when I need to be dressed in business casual or business professional. Thank goodness that everything is fairly priced or I would be breaking the bank for my business events. All the employees are usually very nice & attentative. I especially admire Andy the store manager. His customer service is above all. My husband even gives Andy credit for his technology savvy ways. We both love that Andy is very calm under all circumstances. We've seen him being tugged & pulled in every which way by customers & his staff but he remains very poised & handles every situation in a smooth & timely manner. That's when we began to realize that he is the manager & not just another member on the sales floor. Andy is definitely manager quality. I literally buy ALL my business clothes and the majority of my casual wardrobe from Banana Republic and have been doing so for over 25 years. They offer excellent quality, pricing, and a wide variety of styles. I just went to the BR outlet in Orange and the selection is not as great this time around and the discounts were not as steep as I have seen in the past, which is fine since you still receive great quality garments. Since when did they get so cheap? Everytime I purchase a suit, I get it on a hanger in a garment bag. This time I purchased a business dress and when I asked for a hanger, the Asian girl at the cash register claims that they are not allowed to give me one unless I buy a suit. Really? That seems a bit ridiculous since it's a plastic hanger. I truly prefer not to have my business dresses folded twice then thrown into a super small plastic bag. It makes me feel like they don't care about their garments, nor the customer, and I feel like I just bought the dress from a Walmart. Worst experience ever I have ever experienced while shopping. The manager named Paul is the worst ever, he was full of negative attitude and so unprofessional to us. When we asked him for his name to report him, he snickered at us! Wow! I can't believe he is a MANAGER! He wouldn't return items for us although we had our receipts. He made me so mad that I called customer relations department to report him. Hopefully, the corporate office will remedy this problem soon! What is this??? A BR Factory Outlet Store. Did the angels from heaven open up and sing??? My boyfriend LOVES BR but the clothing is rather expensive in my opinion. I grabbed my friend and we headed in to just "look around". The deals were so good that I started grabbing clothes left and right. Most factory stores don't really have good deals and only have a few pieces that are really on sale. Not here, it was deals galore!!! The store was organized nice and neat and the sales associates were super friendly. I believe that Natalie helped me out on the sales floor while I was looking around. I ended up with 9 t-shirts, 4 polo shirts, 4 long sleeve casual shirts, 2 dress shirts, 2 sweaters, 1 hoodie, 4 jeans, 3 boxers and a bottle of cologne for $560.00. i got an extra 15% off for opening a BR credit card which is also a Visa card so I can use it anywhere. Deal of the century!!! I was so pleased with all my purchases and I know my boyfriend will be to when he comes home from overseas. Efran was great during the checkout and credit card application process. He was so friendly and packed up my clothes so nice and neat. I just can't say enough good things about this store. I cannot believe how cheap it would have been to buy a full suit... The quality was great and their clothes fit perfectly... I say "would have been" because I did not buy the suit... They only had one pair of pants in my size, and while I was trying the jacket one someone swiped the pants. There were two employee's who approached me asking if I needed help. They both agreed that the shirts fit perfectly and helped me look for the pants. They actually went out of their way to check the computers to see if it has been purchased yet, checked around the store in case it was misplaced or had been tried on and left in the dressing rooms... They finally checked locations of other stores that had the pants. I really did appreciate how they made me feel as a customer. I most definitely recommend this store! read more

I love BR however tonight I was disgusted by the greetings, a blonde lady of cashier she rolled her eyes at me that because I am late she is not doing my purchase and she said: not me she is gonna do it. No smile just a grumpy face like She hates me from the start. I came at 7 and it was like 7:45 that the girl was mentioning we close at 8. Then Another girl wearing black she was so upset that why I still am in the store, I was getting ready for my coupons and then she was literally angry at me and it was like 8:10. I said sorry that I am late but she didn't even bother to respond. I also asked for a size and they did not give me and simply said we do not have it. Well maybe they did not have but what kind of customer service is it? They should really hate their jobs to be so upset with a customer at last minuets. Located in The Outlets at Orange. I prefer to shop at Banana Republic for business casual clothes that are perfect for any office setting. They offer a variety of essential styles, colors and sizes for anyone. Personally, I like that they offer a 'Petites' section, with smaller pants size such as 00. I used to pay extra to get my pants altered elsewhere, so it's nice to find pants that fit me as is. My favorite pair of pants from Banana Republic are usually $89.50 but my wallet just can't, you understand right? So, I love that factory stores have daily sales of 40-60% off of almost everything. It is still not the cheapest of clothes but in my opinion, better quality than what you may find at other retail stores. The employees here were so welcoming and friendly. When I did not see my size out on the floor, an employee offered to check if they had it in stock in the back room. I was very surprised to have a BR outlet here in the middle of outlets at Orange. Overall, I think that this is a nice outlet store, but its kind of small compared to the huge outlet stores located in Ontario and Cabazon. The selection is average and the prices are soso. While they did have a nice clearance rack when I was there, all the good stuff was gone. I think many people in the LA and OC area now think that since there is a Banana Republic outlet in the heart of OC, then there is no need to visit the regular stores. I do think that this is a nice store, but I just wish they had more wool jackets, slacks and dressy items. One of the staff members even said it can get chaotic, since everyone is looking for a good deal in this recession. It is worth checking out if you visit the Outlets at Orange, but be prepared to come early when they have special sales. The good stuff goes fast, sometimes too fast. In fact, I ended up leaving without any purchase, the good stuff in my size was already gone :( read more

I've been to unfriendly, unhelpful Banana Republic stores before and I thought that their standard retail location in SaMo (3rd Street Promenade) took the cake. This one may have bested it. Upon entering, I walked by two SAs and not one bothered to acknowledge me. I walked by a female SA (who appeared to be a manager, but I have could been mistaken) and she didn't address me until I made sure to lock eyes and I said, "Good morning." Enough about feeling neglected... This "factory store" is fairly small for an outlet and is smaller than some standard retail locations. It also has a very poor selection of men's clothing. Even scarcer are further reduced "clearance" items which predominately included sizes from opposite polar ends of the size scale. Furthermore, as for naming this location a "factory store", it may have been done to attract bargain shoppers...BUT Banana Republic retail stores regularly have sales that rival prices found at this so called outlet. I did not discover anything worth buying here, especially when current season items are available at similar sale prices in their standard retail stream. Hoping to give the guy working by the entrance/exit a final chance to recognize my existence, not even a single word was muttered as I exited. The men's clothing has much more to choose from, the prices are a lot better than at a regular store (those stores are too expensive for me) and the employees were friendly and asked if I was finding everything ok. Store is pretty clean and they finally have a clearance section! It feels like any other BR Outlet and the lay out is almost 100% the same. The regular priced items are still pricey but the ones that are on sale- which is often at something like, 30-40% off the entire store- it's not so bad. Add in the discount to the clearance stuff and I could actually afford some quality clothes for work on a nearly minimum wage budget. The staff is pretty nice too. I came in once 7 minutes before closing just hoping to grab some things and put them on hold for the next morning to try on (I was afraid they'd run out of my size) and the staff told me that they weren't closing registers for an extra 20 minutes so if I wanted to try things on, I definitely had time to. How nice was that?! I wish they had more of the smaller sizes... I'm generally a 2P or XS in their sizes but they never seem to have very many. If they had more in stock on a consistent basis, I would totally change this to a 5 star. read more

It's been open about 6 weeks and I went for the first time today...it's down in the southern part of the mall, by Burke Williams. It's a nice size with what appears to be a good selection and good pricing. They also have a big clearance area in the rear with quite a few things. The line to pay moved fast and they had a lot of cashiers who kept on top of the line. I'm glad there's finally a BR outlet close by! :-) read more
