I trust their staff when I board my little Chihuahua mix here. They all really love puppies. I highly recommend Kate's Canine Resort!

We have been going to Kate's for over 15 years and both of our dogs have loved it. Lots of quality playtime for the pups!

Ask the Community - Kate's Canine Resort

Just a dog lover looking for a doggie day care. Are the dogs kept in groups for playing/interaction or separated individually? Is there a doggie cam InThis facility? Is there a fenced area outside for the dogs?

Hello! Thanks for reaching out! We can answer all your questions by calling our number at 816-753-4188. We usually do an over the phone behavior assessment to ensure they are a fit for doggie daycare before any dog is in our daycare. We also…

There was a day when Freud (my mutt) got sick at daycare and Tracy felt awful and offered to give him bath.

In my opinion and observation…read more.. So disappointed. After years of loyal patronage, it's painfully obvious this place sold its soul the moment it changed hands. The guy who sold it is now cruising around in his shiny new McLaren, while the rest of us get to enjoy "premium" flea and tick meds with one price in Riverside and a suspiciously cheaper one in Tiffany Springs. Because nothing builds customer trust like location-based price gouging. Prices keep climbing well above market rate, proving they're not in the business of pet care anymore -- just maximum profit extraction. Dr. Sparks should be ashamed. Congrats on helping your predecessor upgrade to supercar status while the clients get the bill. Time to find a vet that hasn't forgotten what integrity looks like. Never again.

Then they tried to get me to come to the desk to do paperwork while someone with a large dog was checking in and while I was obviously holding a loose cat. By the time I finally got checked in (3:16) they told me I was now here past my fifteen minute appointment window and I would be treated as a walk in. And guess what, my broken carrier was still laying in middle of the floor of the lobby because no one got up to even hand it me to while I went to the exam room. I ended up having to leave the room, while still holding my cat, and get the carrier myself. The doctor and vet techs were very nice and treated my kitten very quickly but the front desk staff need to work on their empathy and ability to react to situations. I understand that I did not arrive early enough to factor in for people spending ten minutes checking in and workers on the phone, and yes, it is also my fault for not making sure her carrier wasn't fully secure when I brought her in. However, in an animal clinic you need to be able to react and be aware of your surroundings. Not helping a client who is struggling with a loose cat while people are walking in and out of your lobby with their animals is, as a former animal care worker, is insane to me. Front desk, do better.

I am appalled at how my dog was treated over Memorial Day weekend. I've been a customer of Pooches…read moreParadise for more than 20 years and used to think of the business and the staff as an extension to our family. I am heartbroken by the decline and know that many of my local friends have also expressed concern over it. All the staff who used to work there left soon after the new management took over a few years back. It's become so much worse recently in my opinion, especially the last couple of times I've boarded my dog. First off, you are blasted by a strong urine smell when walking in the front door, which it never had before. After that, I was told by the front desk attendant that my dog peed her bed the night before. She then brought me all of her stuff, including the soaked pee filled bed in a trash bag that reeked 1. My dog has NEVER peed on anything in the house, for the 10 years I've had her, no matter how long I've left her. NEVER, not even after 12 hours! 2. It definitely smelled like more than one accident the night before. I asked the front desk attendant what happened with her the rest of the time and was told curtly that she guessed it was fine since she had no other notes on her. She also said that she only handled the front desk and never offered to get anyone to talk to me about it, even after I said that she had never peed on anything in the house, ever. I regret not asking her to get anyone else, but wanted to get myself and my dog out of there ASAP as the smell was only getting worse. Finally, she brought out my 11 year old pitbull-boxer mix who looked really unhappy. She just seemed like a different dog the rest of the evening and through the next couple of days. Not the normal, so exhausted she only wants to sleep, but more like she was not happy. I noticed when I unpacked her belongings that they didn't follow all of the instructions by what was sent back home. She didn't get her lunches most days or her bedtime snack every day I was gone. The longer I've been away from the situation, the more frustrated I've become wondering what happened to my poor girl while I was out of town. I will NEVER be bringing my dog back to Pooches Paradise! I also know quite a few neighborhood friends who have also stopped using Pooches Paradise in the last couple of years. Sadly not the place it used to be.

The reason for 4 stars is that their hours for pick up and drop off are inconvenient (read: you can't just drop off at any time, only during certain time frames). Each location is an individual franchise and the terms as well as prices per location is at the discretion of each franchisee. Furthermore, I had brought my dog here before and he did fine. It's a new location and the facility is clean. That said, I would recommend finding boarding at another location if possible. I had previously made a boarding reservation here for the holiday weekend for my dog. However, with inclement weather approaching, we changed our travel plans due to potential road conditions. I had to pay a deposit equal to half of the cost for stay. When I called, they said due to their policy of it being a holiday weekend, I would have to cancel 1 week in advance. Otherwise, they would keep my deposit. No exceptions. I had planned to drop my dog off Friday night with Tuesday pick up. I had called other franchises and each have their own policy. The other location required only a 50 dollar deposit refundable if cancelled 72 hours in advance. If cancelled within that 72 hour period, the 50 dollars is kept but credited to the owner's account. Compared to other franchises, this makes the cancellation policy at this location much worse. I will not be bringing my dog to this location again in the future.
