I had a very disappointing experience due to poor care quality and lack of organization. The facility isn't well maintained. I initially went in for a cleaning, which was fine, but later had three fillings done--one of which fell out just 20 minutes after the appointment, and another about a month later. I also questioned the accuracy of the diagnosis, as the dentist strongly pushed to get very small cavities filled, and was also insistent that I remove my permanent retainer and start Invisalign--recommendations I hadn't received before. It all felt overly pushy and a bit off. When I went to a new density to get these fillings fixed, an actual dentist redid them, unlike the here when they were filled by her assistant. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, but they did refund my money, which I appreciated. Overall, it was an odd experience and I wouldn't recommend this office. If you have no other options, it might be acceptable for a basic cleaning, but I personally wouldn't return. read more

Dr Wu is a great dentist. I have been going for about three years, we did Invisalign (which I sought her out for) a bonding on a sensitive tooth and an old filling repair from a prior dentist. She and her staff have always been very patient with my dental anxiety. She clearly explains what needs to be done vs what would just be an improvement / optional. She also explains every step of the way when completing a procedure. Of course they ask you about tooth whitening but never made me feel self conscious about my smile. Do not go here. Please find anywhere else to go. They told me I had massive problems that needed lots of procedures to fix. After (thankfully) moving out of town and seeing two other dentists since, it was all lies. They were upselling on everything. The dentist herself was completely condescending and tried to make me believe that I didn't just gag on their improper use of tools - "you may think that's what happened but it didn't " were her exact words. I just just got home from my new dentist and I was inspired to write a review of my old one, Dr. Wu. Man, what a difference. I'm so glad I won't be coming back here. This office looks nice, but they constantly prayed on my insecurities in an effort to get me to pay for expensive procedures I don't need. Their techs could use some practice too. I had a hard time with the (lack of) suction, it felt like I was being water boarded.. they labeled me as "sensitive" as if it was my fault. Not only that, she severely messed up a filling, to the point where it left a sharp edge that was catching food all the time. I went back in to have it looked at, and she said it was the tooth next to it that was causing the issue. NOPE. Turns out it was a botched job. My new dentist had to replace it, and the experience was so much better, way less pain and more attention to detail, and I had zero issues with the suctioning. He took before and after photos and I couldn't believe the difference -- don't go here! read more

If I could give this office negative stars, I would. Other reviews are absolutely correct in that she is a SALES PERSON, not a dentist. She will spend a lot of time chatting with you, which on the surface seems like good bedside manner and conversation, but she throws in questions to gauge where you work and ultimately how much you make. Her and her staff will push unnecessary treatments on you, focus on expensive superficial procedures (Zoom whitening for example) instead of filling cavities or thorough teeth cleaning, and the worst part is you leave her with more problems than you came in with. After thousands of dollars and several ruined teeth that will cause me issues for the rest of my life, my bf and I went into her office to request our records. They not only tried to withhold them (which is illegal, by the way) but when they did release them, 2 years and thousands of dollars worth of dental work was condensed into two crappy photocopies of xrays that weren't even labeled. No descriptions of the procedures, no bills, nothing. Thankfully I saved all the receipts on my own, and am honestly contemplating legal action. From my personal experience, I went to her when I was 26 and under my mom's dental insurance for the rest of that calendar year. I explained this to her several times and she seemed to understand that I wanted to fix everything in my mouth while I was insured. I didn't have any pressing issues, just a couple cavities and a check up on a root canal I'd gotten a couple years back (from trauma, not negligent tooth care). I also got talked into their Zoom whitening which was absurdly expensive compared to other places. Like I mentioned previously, her and her staff focused on the whitening and messed up several of my teeth in the midst of filling in a couple cavities. One of the teeth turned gray and I had to get a crown from a different dentist (somehow she tried to talk her way around this and make it seem like it was my fault). Now, the root canal tooth was a nightmare. Every time I saw her, she would chip away at the tooth and put poorly fitting crowns over it. These would fall out if I inhaled too hard, and each time I went to have them put back she'd charge me and, again, make it seem like it was my fault, even though I insisted it didn't feel like it fit properly. The third time she actually had the gall to lie and say that this was a temporary solution (false, I still have the porcelain tooth that my new dentist said is absolutely not temporary, just poorly made, and was so appalled by her worth that he recommended I save the tooth in case I sued for medical malpractice). And since she kept filing down my tooth, 4 visits later (after having to leave work early because my damn tooth fell out) this scam artist tells me I need to have it extracted! And naturally she has a friend who's a specialist that she can refer me too and it's absolutely imperative that I pay her another $300 for a flapper (which I didn't agree to, I said I would need to learn more before making a commitment like that, but she began making the flapper anyway). This was my breaking point, I went for a second opinion and the dentist I'm seeing now put in a tooth without having to extract my natural one or put me through an expensive, invasive and time consuming implant procedure. Earlier I mentioned her front desk attempted to withhold my dental records, the reason they sited was that I still owed them $300 for a flapper I neither needed nor asked for. I said I would not be paying for it and after reminding them it was illegal to hold my records hostage, Dr. Wu made it seem as though she was being nice and doing me a favor by letting me take them. Anyway, don't make my mistake and let the comfy chairs and flat screen TVs fool you into thinking this is a high end, professional dental office. Dr. Wu is incredibly smart, if only she applied her intellect into her dental work, instead of manipulating her patients into debt for treatments they didn't need and procedures that were poorly done. I will be spending years paying off the debt I incurred simply from fixing the disaster she created in my mouth, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I went to Dr. Wu for a cleaning. She told me I had all sorts of gum disease issues and that I needed a deep scaling from a periodontist (which I went to) and that I would have to go back to her every 3 months for a cleaning. Every time I went she told me I had more issues and she insisted on selling me a $600 night guard. I had bought a $20 night guard at the pharmacy and asked her what the difference was and she had no answer. She also tried to sell me on teeth whitening. I spent around $2,000 in the 8 months I went there. Avoid her, she is a sales person. read more

Thought this place was Great my first visits, but soon learned it's about quick fixes to get more money out of its customers. Quick personal note: I'm one of those weird people that actually doesn't mind the dentist. My last visit required me to go back to be seen because I left in more pain than I went in with. What felt like a slightly uncomfortable ache I just wanted to check on before the chance of it getting worse, has turned into me having to now get a root canal! Why? Because dr.wu insisted I switch my silver fillings out for white fillings. Well, that exposed my nerve to the point where the new filling has left me in constant agony. I could tell the assistant went too deep, then packed the tooth and smoothed it down so she wouldn't get in trouble again that night. It wasn't smooth. It wasn't even aligned with my other teeth until my next visit just days after this one. I've been getting cavities filled in since I was 6 years old, and never left in the pain I have been in. Dr.Wu's office is nice. Chairs that massage as you get worked on, and tv's in every room. But these things are a ruse to hide the fact her and her employees are not good at dentistry and Dr. Wu will talk you in circles until you agree to the procedure she Thinks is best for you. read more

Awesome service and very knowledgeable staff! I went in for a teeth cleaning for the first time as I just moved in the area and could not be happier. The person who cleaned my teeth (Michelle I believe it was) was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and walked me through everything she was doing with clarity. She also helped provide me with some info I did not know before vs. just doing a cleaning and leaving. Dr. Wu was also great in the evaluation and provided good feedback to any questions I had. I have never felt the need to write a one star Yelp! review in my life until I went here. I will preface this by saying I have been one of the weirdos that has looked forward to going to the dentist my whole life. Teeth cleanings have always been enjoyable and I love the way I feel when I leave. When I left Prestige, I never wanted to go to another dentist again. I now understand why so many people dread the dentist. The problem starts and ends with Dr. Wu. As a fellow Temple alumni, I was excited to support her. After sitting in the waiting room about 15 minutes, not a big deal, I was taken taken back to a very clean room with a comfortable chair and TV to watch, perfect, I originally thought, WRONG. Half of my appointment I spent bleeding from my gums while Dr. Wu blamed my sensitivity on the fact that haven't had a proper teeth cleaning in two years, which I found insulting and untrue. I have never had a cavity in my life and have always taken oral health seriously, so for her to say I haven't taken care of myself is ludicrous. I left without feeling clean at all and had splatters of green tooth paste on my cheek, also unacceptable. She also commented that my built-in bottom retainer hits too low to my gum and then wiggled it to put it up. Now, 3 days later, my retainer has FALLEN OFF COMPLETELY. Did I have a problem before her? No. I am completely blaming this on her and will make sure all my friends and family know to go to any other dentist in the area. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Do not like the shiny interior of this place fool you, you will not leave happy. read more

I started seeing Dr. Wu in 2014 - her office is clean and very new (massage chair and tv in the exam room, nice little touch.) I enjoy that Dr. Wu really explains to you literally everything you could do 'in a perfect world' for your teeth and mouth and then gives you the rundown on what really NEEDS to be done now. On my first visit, I had a deep cleaning (I had not seen a dentist for a few years (bad experience)), I was fitted for a night guard, and then I had 2 crowns and 2 fillings done in the office over the span of a few months. My dental insurance doesn't cover the deep cleaning, fluoride, or a lot of crown work but before any work was done they were able to tell me exactly what the cost would be... before doing anything... it was very nice not to get surprise bills in the mail like my previous dentist. Finally, the actual work was done gently, she asks if you are OK a lot, and pays very close attention to what she is doing.. OK she will get water everywhere lol, but it's worth it. Unfortunately, I've had to lower my five stars to two stars. In the span of six months between cleanings, the office claims an entire root of a tooth became exposed. I think they missed the early stages of this happening because I had mentioned sensitivity on the tooth at every single visit and they said it was fine. The specialist I saw said this happened over the course of a few years, not 6 months. Now thousands of dollars later, I will probably have to get the tooth pulled. Dr. We also insisted that I needed all of my molar filings replaced when I first saw her, but as time went on, as she got more patients, it became less urgent that I get that done. I had half the work done and then took a break because I got pregnant. I kept on on regular cleanings during that time. The next visit I had with her after baby, I brought it up and she said "oh if you wanted to do that I could" .... making me feel like the other work I had was optional when she made it seem urgent. First impression, the dental assistant was very nice. BUT BE AWARE: There is a noise and privacy level that bothers me, under HIPAA we should NOT be able to hear the medial related conversation of other patients and I definitely did. Also THIS OFFICE IS PUSHY WHEN IT COMES TO ADDITIONAL SERVICES. The dentist tried to be subliminal with her messaging of you should get additional services but I am savy and a health administrator for an entire hospital so I picked this up immediately. And I have a beautiful set of natural teeth so I know this was bs! Im on the fence about reporting some of the things I witnessed. Even when I checked out, the receptionist says so you also had a fluoride treatment? I said NO. She says oh I have you down for one. I said well I declined so please take that off of my bill! GUESS WHAT? When I was waiting to be checked in, She did the same EXACT thing to a patient that she was checking out while I was in the waiting area! read more

After 3 years without going to the dentist I finally decided to make my way in at the beginning of the year [2015]. Since I had neglected my teeth for so long I ended up going to her office seven or eight times for a spectrum of treatments [Don't judge]. I had all my amalgam silver fillings removed and filled with composite resins. The silver fillings were from my childhood and were worn and starting to crack, while removing one of the filling it was discovered that I needed a root canal. Dr. Wu took care of it on the spot, no extra visit needed. I also had my teeth whiten. Dr. Wu's offers a take home whiting treatment, she makes you custom whiting trays and your first whiting treatment is done at the dental office and the rest are done at home on your own time. At first, I was a little annoyed that I had to take the treatments home instead of an in-office one time whiting treatment. I'm lazy and I didn't want to dedicate 15-20 mins of my time to whiten my teeth but after the first couple of treatments I could see a significant difference in the color. At home whiting stinks for us lazy people but if I can do it so can you! Believe me, you will not be disappointed. Dr. Wu also gave me great recommendations on how to get the really stained parts of my teeth and she gives you more whitening gel every 6 months after your cleaning visit. I just finished my last visit with a crown and 6 month cleaning and I could be happier with the look and feel of my teeth. I'm still testing out the crown but I know if I have any problems I can call and get seen right away. If you want someone who is patient and will make sure you are happy with your visit[s], will answer your "dumb" questions and explain what they are doing every step of the way, Dr. Wu and Jackie are the duo to see. read more

Ive had some terrible experiences at dentists in the past, but Prestige Dental is a 5 star establishment. I had a whole spectrum of care provided, including referral that was great as well. The staff is awesome and Dr. Wu is very knowledgeable with being approachable at the same time. read more

This business is completely unprofessional and lacks as a Dentist. My fiance has been having on going issues with his mouth and originally was assigned to them through his insurance company. When we first went there, their computer systems were down and they referred us to a specialist because they could not take a basic X-Ray. The specialist advised what the issue was, a simple procedure that his primary dentist, Kathleen Wu, should be able to do. When he returned to Wu's offcie, they did not even listen to what the issue was and tried to offer him other unnecessary services. They made no attempt to listen to his concerns about paying for an unnecessary procedure that he would have to pay out of pocket for if they sent him back to a specialist. Kathleen Wu and her office is clearly only about making money and not taking care of the needs of their patients. I also think it is sad that during the first visit when they were experiencing computer problems, all of the members of her office were criticizing her and rolling their eyes anytime she left the area. Do not go there! Save yourself the headache. read more

Dr. Wu's dental practice is the best. The staff are friendly, the office is warm and welcoming. Dr. Wu makes going to the dentist less scary, she's quick and painless! I struggled with coming to the decision to write this - I do not like leaving negative reviews - but after my husband, my son, and I have all three suffered after appointments at Prestige Dental, I felt it was time. My husband had a filling done at Prestige that had to be done again because of the massive amount of space left between the filling and neighboring tooth - which meant a lot of food debris got caught -- causing pain and inflammation. I also had a large filling done -- and was in pain for at least three weeks following the filling. I have had many fillings on my teeth - but none as painful as this one. I could not eat properly for quite some time. I had to have the filling redone -- again because of massive space left following the filling which left me with inflammation, bleeding, and pain. After the filling was redone I was in pain again for several weeks. This was about 4 months ago - and now I have discovered, after visiting another dental office -- that I have a cavity -- decay -- at the site of the filling I received at Prestige Dental (twice!) - because the filling was not properly done and the filling is not flush to the tooth! There is a problem at the site of that filling - which has left me needing to get it filled yet AGAIN -- this will be the third time!! In addition to all of this, I had taken my son in for a check up at Prestige - his first one - he is three. I was told that all was just fine, and I assumed his teeth were in a great shape. Three months after his check up he ended up needing emergency dental surgery (I took him to a pediatric specialist for this) because one of his molars had such bad decay and such a deep cavity on it that the tooth split in half down to the gumline! He was in intense pain! And this intense decay was not seen only a couple of months prior? Three members of my household have suffered following appointments at Prestige - and we have also been affected financially -- I now have to pay for another filling that I just paid to fill - and my son's surgery cost $350 out of pocket. I went to this dentist for about two years. Recently I went back after a long absence and was told that they needed to check with my insurance provider before they could schedule my deep clean to get "approval" and would call me in a week. I was told this by the dental hygienist and the doctor. After a follow up call in which they said they would put the request in and get back to me again they never called. I went to another dentist and they told me I had gum damage due to periodontal disease and recommended a non-surgical treatment for people that are pre-disposed to build up. They asked me why my former dentist did not recommend me to a Periodontist. I am wondering this as well. Instead of referring me to someone that can help DR. Wu LIED TO MY FACE ABOUT SOME INSURANCE bs and never called me back. Oh yeah and they push braces hard, Dr. Wu told me they would help my bleeding gums. Do yourself a favor go elsewhere. read more

I came across Dr Wu last year when I was looking for a local dentist in my area. I am absolutely petrified of the dentist, sure a lot of people can agree with my statement. From the moment I met Dr Wu until now a year later, I am beyond satisfied with the services I received and her professionalism. I no longer have that pre-dentist appointment anxiety. She really listened to me and is working with me to achieve my long-term dental goals. I have referred over a dozen people and every single one thanked me as they are experiencing the same professionalism. This is truly a 5-star establishment with a 5-star team!! read more
