Got to try so much tasty food. The kiddos enjoyed the aloo ticki and chicken momo the most of coarse (deep fried goodness). The Aloo Ticki (potato creation) was surprising how well liked it was by everyone, a tame flavor but filling. My husband who typically goes for butter chicken actually found the chicken lababdor more unique and flavourful with a good amount of heat( the spicy kind). We also got some samosas - vegetable, beef and chicken. I always love a good vegi samosa. And the lentil dishes were fantastic, I would highly recommend those! Dal tadka and Dal makahni. Vegetable Hakka noodles were super similar to like a Chinese noodle dish so nothing special but an easy crowd pleaser. This place has been recommended to me many times...finally had a chance to try it out. This is an East Indian - Nepalese and Hakka restaurant...not too many of these spots around! We ordered the Chicken Korma, Lamb Biryani, Chicken Momos, Chicken Hakka Noodles, Samosa Chaat and Cheese Naan. The flavours were amazing, each dish was made with fresh ingredients. It was such a treat! Our favourites were the biryani and Hakka noodles. The momos were a huge hit with our little one. The portions were quite large as well...some good value!!! This review is based only on taste and prices as we had to order through Skip the Dishes due to the Corona virus pandemic happening right now. I know this restaurant is fairly new and we've been wanting to try it out. We ordered butter chicken, lamb curry and beef vindaloo for our meat choices. The meat was so tender and the sauce so flavourful. I was especially surprised with the lamb! The naan bread was a good amount for two orders. The veggie samosas was packed full of potato so each one was very heavy. It came with two different sauces, the green one tasted better than the red one. The shahi paneer was also very good considering I don't usually eat it from a buffet table. I thought the prices were also a bit cheaper than some of the other restaurants on Skip the Dishes. I recommend the food from here. Can't wait to go into the restaurant and try more dishes! read more

Super easy to find and get to via Google Maps. Lots of parking as it's located in a nice little strip mall. Greeted warmly upon entering. I ordered on the phone and was very pleased there was no miscommunication due to strong accents. Order took 40minutes but expected since I ordered for 8 adults. Ordered all as 'mild' heat. 1 order of vegetable Samosas, 1xbeef, 1xchicken (2 each per order) - not too spicy, crispy shell, very nice. 4 orders of aloo ticki (2 peices per order) - my 3 year old nephew loved this, not spicy, great mild flavor, everyone enjoyed. Dal tadka (yellow lentils) least spicy dish, loved the flavor but not as rich and creamy as expected. Dal makahni - pretty spicy but lots of lentils and more filling. Butter chicken - not my favorite but very standard flavor. Chicken was a little rubbery for me. Chicken Momo fried - my 3 year old nephew loved this too, not spicy, not very crispy, lots of filling. Would order again as everyone liked this. One per person wasn't enough. Chicken lababdor - very spicy, spice-loving family members loved this. Vegetable Hakka noodles - just chinese noodles, great for picky eaters but won't order again. Chicken Biryani - my favorite. Had quite a heat kick but portion, flavor and texture was 10/10. I've had the vegetable one as well and also 10/10. Mixed Vegetable for 12.99- so spicy I couldn't eat it but spice-loving family members loved this. We supplimented with homemade riceand opted out of naan which was sad but we got more variety instead. Overall great Indian food. Leftovers enough I could have forgone the noodles. We ordered in for Yelp's Big Night in. The food arrived hot and 4 different sauces were provided was was great. The vegetable samosas are only 99 cents so we got a few of those. Potatoes and peas in a flaky pastry was delicious. Since I can't eat very spicy food, I got the butter chicken mild to be on the safe side (you can select from a scale of 5 from baby mild to extra hot) and it wasn't very spicy. There was lots of sauce and large pieces of chicken. I used my garlic naan (3 large pieces per order) to sop up the sauce. If you like garlic, I recommend getting that naan. Next were the steamed chicken momo. I've never tried them before but tasty with the spices mixed with the meat. I found the portion sizes to be reasonable and all the food was $33 and leftovers for the next day. I would definitely order from there again until I can visit in person. read more

Fantastic food, good portions, fresh. Great place for East Indian, hakka and napalese food. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was a bit lacking though, drinks are rarely refilled, no check up on if we needed anything like napkins or water, dessert ect. My father mentioned this new restaurant so we decided to check it out. The decor is very simple, possibly due to the pandemic, since here is no reason to over spend on the decor. The menu was of average size, It had some typical Indian dishes which i decided I didn't want to order. I was curious about the Hakka dishes they had, I haven't found anything decent here in Edmonton for that style. We ordered steamed and fried momo's ( vegetable dumplings), Cheese filled naan and vegetable Hakka noodles. All the dishes were truly delightful. I have since ordered twice and drive 30mins to pick it up. This location is a gem in the city to add some diversity to the Indian food scene. The service was great as well, they seemed very busy with pickup orders. Each time we have received food from here their quality has been consistent. The pricing is pretty standard but you do get a generous serving. Once this pandemic is over I can not wait to return with friends to share the amazing experience. read more

Tried Kathmandu for the first time tonight and they have gained a few new customers. We ordered butter chicken along with 6 other dishes and appetizers. Everything was great. Portions were decent. My only complaint was there could have been a bit more chicken in the butter chicken. The beef vindaloo had an adequate amount of meat but was lacking when it came to our butter chicken. Fortunately we ordered lots of naan so the extra sauce won't go to waste. Definitely recommend if you enjoy Indian cuisine. We'll be making the trip in from Stony Plain more often in the future as long as these guys are in business. read more

Very tasty Indian food! The saffron rice is the test for me and it was perfect. This fine establishment survived the Covid test and we couldn't be happier. I don't live anywhere close to the place so I've gotten larger ($60-70) orders since I know it will be a while until I'm in that part of town again. I believe that this is a new Northern Indian style restaurant opened in the space where a Thai restaurant used to be. I rarely write reviews but my experience of the food here was so good I want to do my bit to help it succeed. I went for lunch and had the lamb curry combo which included nan and rice. The serving was huge...enough for 2 full lunches for me. I dreamt about the leftovers until I had time for lunch the next day. It was so delicious. You can ask for the amount of spicyness you want and I asked for medium. It is very flavourful and not really spicy. I honestly do not remember having a better curry anywhere. This newly opened restaurant (only 3 days) is special It's menu is East Indian, Nepalese & Hakka which means it has a very large & extensive vegetarian selection. It has a range of spice levels from Baby Mild to Extra Hot - Just be sure to specify which one you want when placing your order so you aren't surprised by the heat of your order. We went for lunch to try it out & were not disappointed. The portions were generous & the service attentive.The Baingan ka Bharta (roasted eggplant) was wonderful. We also loved their Butter Naan & Masala Chai. We plan on coming back soon for dinner with more people so we can try more dishes. A great place to get take-out for a Covid picnic! The paneer pakoras were especially delicious and unlike anything I had ever had. I also ordered Ras Malai out of curiosity (it's a rich, milky, sweet dessert) and was not disappointed! I also highly recommend the cheese naan.
