    Chicken Korma
    Mark Y.

This place has been recommended to me many times...finally had a chance to try it out. This is an East Indian - Nepalese and Hakka restaurant...not too many of these spots around! We ordered the Chicken Korma, Lamb Biryani, Chicken Momos, Chicken Hakka Noodles, Samosa Chaat and Cheese Naan. The flavours were amazing, each dish was made with fresh ingredients. It was such a treat! Our favourites were the biryani and Hakka noodles. The momos were a huge hit with our little one. The portions were quite large as well...some good value!!! Definitely recommend!

This review is based only on taste and prices as we had to order through Skip the Dishes due to the Corona virus pandemic happening right now. I know this restaurant is fairly new and we've been wanting to try it out. We ordered butter chicken, lamb curry and beef vindaloo for our meat choices. The meat was so tender and the sauce so flavourful. I was especially surprised with the lamb! The naan bread was a good amount for two orders. The veggie samosas was packed full of potato so each one was very heavy. It came with two different sauces, the green one tasted better than the red one. The shahi paneer was also very good considering I don't usually eat it from a buffet table. I thought the prices were also a bit cheaper than some of the other restaurants on Skip the Dishes. I recommend the food from here. Can't wait to go into the restaurant and try more dishes!

Super easy to find and get to via Google Maps. Lots of parking as it's located in a nice little strip mall. Greeted warmly upon entering. I ordered on the phone and was very pleased there was no miscommunication due to strong accents. Order took 40minutes but expected since I ordered for 8 adults. Ordered all as 'mild' heat. 1 order of vegetable Samosas, 1xbeef, 1xchicken (2 each per order) - not too spicy, crispy shell, very nice. 4 orders of aloo ticki (2 peices per order) - my 3 year old nephew loved this, not spicy, great mild flavor, everyone enjoyed. Dal tadka (yellow lentils) least spicy dish, loved the flavor but not as rich and creamy as expected. Dal makahni - pretty spicy but lots of lentils and more filling. Butter chicken - not my favorite but very standard flavor. Chicken was a little rubbery for me. Chicken Momo fried - my 3 year old nephew loved this too, not spicy, not very crispy, lots of filling. Would order again as everyone liked this. One per person wasn't enough. Chicken lababdor - very spicy, spice-loving family members loved this. Vegetable Hakka noodles - just chinese noodles, great for picky eaters but won't order again. Chicken Biryani - my favorite. Had quite a heat kick but portion, flavor and texture was 10/10. I've had the vegetable one as well and also 10/10. Mixed Vegetable for 12.99- so spicy I couldn't eat it but spice-loving family members loved this. We supplimented with homemade riceand opted out of naan which was sad but we got more variety instead. Overall great Indian food. Leftovers enough I could have forgone the noodles. But next time more Momo!

Celebrated mine & my mothers birthday. There was 8 of us, everyone's meal was delicious. Will definitely be going back to try more items. The service was okay. Absolutely love love loved the food, the price was amazing especially on the portion size you get. A hidden gem!

Fantastic food, good portions, fresh. Great place for East Indian, hakka and napalese food. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was a bit lacking though, drinks are rarely refilled, no check up on if we needed anything like napkins or water, dessert ect. Some other customers brought cup up to counter for more water...paper menus reusued - some had dried sauce from previous use.

My father mentioned this new restaurant so we decided to check it out. The decor is very simple, possibly due to the pandemic, since here is no reason to over spend on the decor. The menu was of average size, It had some typical Indian dishes which i decided I didn't want to order. I was curious about the Hakka dishes they had, I haven't found anything decent here in Edmonton for that style. We ordered steamed and fried momo's ( vegetable dumplings), Cheese filled naan and vegetable Hakka noodles. All the dishes were truly delightful. I have since ordered twice and drive 30mins to pick it up. This location is a gem in the city to add some diversity to the Indian food scene. The service was great as well, they seemed very busy with pickup orders. Each time we have received food from here their quality has been consistent. The pricing is pretty standard but you do get a generous serving. Once this pandemic is over I can not wait to return with friends to share the amazing experience.

He had heart balloons and flowers for our table which made the occasion even more special. The food is fabulous, the peaches and shrimp dish is so good as well as the beef with Gai lan and the tofu assorted vegetable hot pot. Noodles and desserts are great as well! We have tried so many dishes here it is hard to name them all. This restaurant is also on SkipTheDishes and with my referral, my office has ordered on several occasions. Everyone was very happy with their lunch choices! Excellent food and service, prices are very reasonable and if this restaurant was closer to my home, we would be eating her all the time!

You can actually park your vehicle safely in their free lot now, for up to 2 hours. Security is watching and even checks in with you when you park. As for the food, in my experience it's all been great! The menu is a funny combo of different cuisines, definitely befitting the name "bistro". There are a variety of asian dishes (Chinese, Japanese, Thai), HK-style foods and very traditional western cuisine like beef bourguignon. That one intrigues me, super old school and looks really good. There are also some set menus that come with drinks. It's one of the few places I feel spoiled for interesting selection, hard to make a choice. Chinatown Dining Week has brought me back here three times in as many weeks, got hooked by the beef and sour veg steamed in a lotus wrap. This visit my husband got the gyukatsu set, which was really good if you can live with slightly sweet Glico-style curry. The omurice was perfect. Their katsu particularly is really, really good, better than your average schnitzel, and much cheaper! Have been back a few times and even brought the extended family. There's something for everyone! Everything we've tried has been tasty, fresh and a generous portion. Previously we tried the bistro premium fried rice which had scallops and tobiko, delicious. My food-restricted niece tried the crispy shrimp appy, which were really tasty and more like prawn-size. Not sure she got many back after offering to share with the table. Ah Chinatown. Been coming here my whole life but always get the side-eye, usually from the owner, until ordering. The experience wouldn't be the same without it. The other staff were more genuinely friendly and happy the food was enjoyed. One01Bistro is officially a new family favourite, especially before events at Rogers Place. Psst also... cheap beer.

The sweet and sour chicken batter was dry and the chicken inside was stringy. The crispy ginger beef was not crispy but chewy and lacked beef. Spring rolls had good flavour but spent a bit too much time in the fryer. The chicken fried rice was bland. The only dish that was good wsa the mixed vegetables with garlic. We quickly grabbed a new set where multiple sets were ready for distribution when neccessary. As Asians, we generally wash all of our bowls and utensils prior using as our practice with hot water or tea (depending on what you ask for). Food - 4/5. The chicken casserole was flavourful, just a lot of bones. The beef was very soft and tender. The sweet and sour pork chops had a thick tangy sauce but good that it had a light batter around the meat, which kept the meat moist. The chicken is the typical dish you can get at most Chinese restaurants. It was interesting that it actually sat in a soy sauce base. The ginger sauce is missing the typical green onions. However, it was seasoned quite well. I didn't take a picture of dessert though. It was red bean with glutinous rice sweet soup. I actually quite enjoyed it. Overall: 3.5/5.
