When compared against its local and metro peers, this restaurant does well. I do prefer the location in Nederland but this good. Variety and options are always good here. Plenty of vegetarian and meat options. Around lunch time the buffet well stocked and nothing is suffering from sitting in the steam table long. We have eaten here many times over the years and it seems consistently good. Some things are just so so but it's all a matter of taste and preference anyway. Chili chicken and potatoes and broccoli were stand outs today. Full of flavor. Freshly cooked and I left nothing behind. The naan is plentiful but one piece is enough. The samosas are pretty standard for every Indian restaurant on the planet. I love veg chow chow having had this on our Mount Everest base camp trek so many times. Love it! Service is ok. It's a buffet. They seat you and you dig in. We prefer to sit outside as it was hot and humid inside. Price is ok for Boulder and the current state of inflation and pricing of everything being stupid. This restaurant is huge and can seat every size group. We will be back. read more

They kept asking if the food was good and we said no. They still didn't seem to care. Very tasteless masala and watery. The Momos were just not edible and felt frozen. Also, no real flavor and chewy. This is an absolutely MUST TRY restaurant. Great Vegan options as well as meat dishes, but be prepared to experience overcooked meat per usual Indian standards. Regardless, there are many offerings to enjoy the Nepalese style cuisine. I loved their curries and especially the sweet potato curry! I added their hot chili sauce and HOLY HOTNESS BATMAN!! That stuff really spiced it up!! Their mint chutney was terrific and the naan was yummy too. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and there was a very nice man who spoke very little to no English who showed us to our table. Overall, it was a good experience. read more

i've driven by this place a lot before but hadn't eaten here originally until today. i came in for the lunch buffet which ended up being about $40 for 2 people. there was a wide variety or indian/nepalese food and sauces to choose from. the foods had gluten free or vegan labels on them. as for the food, it wasn't anything amazing. it was horrible but i don't feel the need to come back. found a hair in the chicken but could have been mine i guess. overpriced for the taste of the food. it was also extremely quiet in the restaurant with no music or anything like that in the background. the waiters were nice and attentive and they had good water. read more

The main courses (Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala) were of sub-par quality for Indian restaurants in the region. The chicke was overcooked. The naan was dry and otherwise not memorable. Service was essentially non-existent. After bringing our food, the waiter disappeared and did not return to our table. This was during evening meal time and we were literally the only customers in the restaurant. When we wanted to leave, I had to get up and roam around the restaurant until I found our waiter involved with his cell phone to ask him to bring our check. This place is so good! I love everything on the buffet, greatly appreciate knowing what does and does not contain gluten,and the great variety! Every single dish is unique in its flavor profile & each hits its notes with grace. My picky picky 14 year old ate more vegetables here than I've ever seen him eat in his life! Menu items are also perfect! The chicken momos were a great meal for the kiddo. If you go for lunch they have never given me a menu lol I think it's a known lunch buffet place so they don't bother with menus) They are a family owned vibe, everyone was nice. Only complaint was a fruit fly in my water cup, I'm assuming it's just because the pitchers of water were prefilled on the tables and the doors were open because it was a beautiful fall day. Yummy Indian food buffet. Stopped in for the first time last Sunday. Located behind Trader Joe's and near Target. The food was good. They had a great selection of items to please everyone in our party. Both dairy and nondairy saag. I enjoyed the chai tea and Chili Chicken the most. I did have issue however with some of the items not being hot enough and actually a few dishes were still cold when they should not have been. As if they were placed out cold on the buffet table to heat. Also minus a star for the awful sewage smell in the bathroom. They must have ongoing plumbing issues because 3 air fresheners were visible but doing no good. It was so bad I had to turn back around and exit because I just could not hold my breath long enough. THANKFULLY this was after I had already eaten. If it was prior I don't think I would have stayed to eat here. So skip using the bathroom here altogether if you can. read more

I am so happy I found this amazing gem! I used to love going to Yak and Yeti for their buffet. Unfortunately after Covid they no longer have a buffet. So I was super excited when I found Kathmandu. The food is delicious, the restaurant is very clean and they keep the buffet fresh and clean at all times. I bring my toddler with me whenever I come in and she loves it. She's the worlds pickiest eater unless it's here and then she eats everything. I finally brought my husband in with me and he was super happy. I love their saag paneer and veggie pakora and highly recommend both, but honestly everything is tasty! Great go to spot, particularly when you are hungry. Whether it's a weekend afternoon or date night it's great for it all. This is my most favorite genre for food so what better time to visit then when they have a buffet! I recently came in after a long hike. I was honestly surprised how hungry I was at 11:30 am on a Sunday. It was a bit on the quiet side at that time and everything looked like it had just been put out. The hot items were steaming, the ice cream was filled to the brim, and the plates and bowls were stacked high. My lunch companion was raving about the ice cream. He had it with every visit to the buffet (which was a total of 4 times, shhh don't tell him that I was counting). There were three choices of rice, lots of gluten free options, various meats (chicken, fish, etc.) and veggie options to boot. I just couldn't get enough of the noodle dish, chicken curry sauce, and of course the amazing chutneys! I had a coupon for 20% off of the buffet (with purchase of a beverage) so this visit was even more economical than ever. They also have a frequent buffet diner card which I was sure to get stamped. Just one more stamp and it's a free buffet visit for me! The staff are attentive and efficient. The space is clean, and the music is classic (Om Mani Padme Hum played on loop). As we stayed for quite some time the place was near packed when we headed out around 1pm - tho I had no idea as it was not particularly loud. Went here one evening because someone said it was good and looking at the reviews seemed like it could be. Just proves don't trust the reviews. 1. When you come into the restaurant you get this weird off putting smell. I have no idea what is was but it isn't pleasant. 2. Place is run down and not very clean. Our bench seat was repaired with tape. I touched it and it was very sticky so I avoided sitting on it so I didn't ruin my pants. 3. For dinner it was the buffet 4. Buffet selection was very limited. Probably the best thing on it was the Chicken Masala. Chicken was very dry and way overcooked but at least it calmed my fears a bit of food poisoning. They only had plan naan bread (wanted to try some of the other options but no luck). Rice set up was odd at best. We each only had one plate of food and the plates were not filled. 5. Cost for two people with tip was over $50 and that was just for the buffet, no drinks, etc on the bill 6. I will never go back. Only reason for 2 stars is I was not seriously sick the remaining night. I have no idea who is giving this place 5 stars but they definitely have never had real good Indian food. read more

One of my all time favorite Indian buffet spots. Over a dozen different dishes to choose from, Ive tried them all... all delicious! Never have I ever had sweet potato masala and damn is it good! Great vegetarian option along with plenty others. Priced at $15 for all you can eat gourmet, I'd say it's well worth it. Staff is attentive and polite too. Kathmandu has your average Indian buffet food available. I tried tandoori chicken, and many different curries. I really enjoyed the Samosas here and liked how large the restaurant was. Even though it was pretty busy, the restaurant was so spread out, so you were not sitting on top of other people. Restrooms were pretty dirty and the restaurant is very dark inside. Also, was surprised to see how light in color and liquidy the tamarind sauce was here. Not much taste at all. read more

Our favorite Indian buffet in Boulder. We have live closer to the one in Ned but have been ardent supporters of the Boulder location since they opened. It's a consistently decent Indian style buffet with the typical fare. I would consider 5 STARS if the naan was more crisp instead of soggy steam table limp; and if they would be willing to stop playing hip hop and rap music which ruins the dining experience in my opinion. Yes sometimes the Om Mani Padme Hum CD gets old, but at least it weaves in and out of conversation and works with the atmosphere. See you tonight! read more
