I came here for a birthday and it was my first time, I heard great things about the pancakes online and overall about the place from family but was different when I got there. The service wasn't great the waitress seemed like she just didn't wanna be there at ALL! I got the Big Daddy and my eggs were very oily and i basically had to choke them down, the pancake on the other hand was very good I didn't even need butter or syrup! The hash browns were okay I guess but not great kinda greasy, the bread was mediocre, the bacon was good the sausage was not. But one takeaway was the ambiance it was very cozy a little cafe people can come and just chill out me have a nice morning!

Stopped here for breakfast at about 10:30am. The breakfast crowd had left and lunch crowd wasn't there yet so we had the place to ourselves. They have a senior menu for those over 55 (yeah that's me) so I had a HUGE pancake and two strips of bacon for like $5. Perfect amount of food. Pancake was fluffy with slightly crispy ends. So yummy. Bacon was cooked to perfection. Husband had the eggs/bacon/hashbrowns/toast meal (can't remember the name) and he loved it as well. Nice huge deck if you wanted to hang out outside. Staff was awesome. Loved this stop.

This place is everything you condo want in a small town diner. The food was delicious and out so quickly. Our server (blonde, wavy hair) was very nice and We drove 20 minutes out of the way just to get this kind of food- hoping it was worth it. It was!

He ordered very, very rare, and explained to the waitress that he wanted it even rarer than the photo shown as rare on the menu. When it arrived, it was well done. He sent it back, and the second steak was medium well done! He ate part of it, but when you order an expensive steak, you should get what you ordered. Many had there food arrive overdone, and COLD! My wife ordered onion rings - they arrived hot, but burned - even the onion inside was BLACK - the waitress offered to bring her new ones, but she declined. ( Who wants to get their food when everyone else is already finished eating?) Even people who got their food on grill platters had cold food, because the grill plates themselves were ice cold! I think the people that had ordered shrimp were content with their food, but most were not happy. Sorry, but I don't think our group will be visiting again any time soon. It's a shame, because the old Budger's restaurant was an awesome place to eat!

There are very few tables in this small restaurant, so we ended up waiting quite a bit and then had to push two tables together. It didn't matter much since we were still waiting for some of our other family members to arrive, but just know if you have a group larger than 3-4, you'll likely end up waiting at least 30 minutes. The food was overall satisfying. I got the cranberry, turkey, and Brie sandwich with the soup of the day, which happened to be bacon cheeseburger. Both were yummy! At the end, we got sold on the desserts in the window (me and my partner on the chocolate creme pie). They were all good as well! The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars was the service. From the time we entered, we felt like an inconvenience. A party of six shouldn't be too much to handle, but we were apparently too much. We didn't get much attention unless we flagged someone down. Overall, I liked the food and the feel of this place, but I wouldn't come back unless I was with only one other person!

They also have coffee drinks, beer and wine.

There was only one waitress but she was attentive and friendly. The menu is your typical "diner" food including breakfast served all day. I got the breaded chicken sandwich which was steaming hot when it arrived. The tots were delicious and my friend enjoyed her BLT with hash browns. I also tried the 8th Ave Fav dirty soda which was refreshing. The only negative was the smoothie had chunks of ice in it. Worth the stop if you're driving through Pipestone.

We sat ourselves and a waitress named Ella came over after a few minutes and said "do you want a drink?" My husband: Do you have a Diet Coke? Ella: no My husband: ok, I suppose it's a diet coke. She looks at me never saying a word. I said I will have a coke, and Ella walks away. Again, no acknowledgment. Ella walks back to our table, again not saying a word with her writing pad and pen to take our order. So, we both ordered a burger which came with fries or potato chips, which we were never asked which one we preferred. Ella brings both orders to our table, and walks away again not saying a word. I looked at my order and it had no fries; my husband's was fine. So, I waited hoping Ella or someone would come back to let them know, but nothing. I noticed Ella hiding behind the donut counter texting on her phone. She was there a good 5 minutes, then hurried and put it in her back pocket. I showed my husband and he was like wtf?!? He walked up and let them know at the front counter that my order had no fries or chips. Eventually an older woman brought my french fries out. Ella never came back to see if everything was fine, if we needed anything. No one did. She was slowly walking around the small diner pretending to sweep. My husband had to go to the front counter yet again to get refills on our soda. The food was good, the service needs a hell of a lot of work! Not friendly at ALL!!! Or attentive. The small diner was cute and clean which is why they get 3 stars. Which this place has potential, they just need new management and training. The burger was very dry, french fry's were good but too late so I brought them as well as my burger home to my chickens.
