I previously lived in OH and saw the same hair stylist for 8 years. After moving back home to Syracuse in 2009, I have spent the past four years trying to a professional, talented, amazing colorist! She scheduled a consultation with me and I had my first appointment this past Saturday. I am SO extremely happy with the results and I cannot believe I finally found someone in Syracuse with this much talent. In addition to giving me a truly great haircut and color, Katie is just a lovely person. She is thoughtful and calm, and really took her time when helping me figure out what I wanted. She's not the overbearing, excessively chatty type, which I appreciated, and it was a really relaxing experience. She did have me look at pictures with her so we both could pick the exact color/highlight style I wanted. And she was very careful not to cut it too short. She made coffee and tea, and made sure I could reach them while she was doing my highlights. The hair washing stations have an extra platform between the sink and the chair so my neck wasn't sore afterward. The chair I sat in while my color was being processed even had a heated massage cushion attached. TLDR: Katie is fantastic, and it was a lovely experience. I couldn't recommend her more. read more

I got my hair cut and colored a few weeks ago for the first time by Katie. From start to finish she was great! At the beginning of my appointment she spent time getting to know how my hair behaves, how I like to wear it, what I was looking for from her, etc. Throughout the appointment she gave me pointers on how to style my hair, hair dos and don'ts, and so much more. My hairstyling abilities are limited so her help and suggestions were appreciated. I kind of had a few different ideas of how I wanted my hair and with the combination of photos and my explanation, Katie went to work. When my hair was finished I was so pleased with how it came out. I've spent a long time looking for a consistent hair stylist who gets it right every time. I've gone to Katie several times and am always happy with the results! She knows what she's doing! I have long fine hair and it often falls flat, but Katie has managed to give me a style that keeps the body even after I leave the salon and wash & dry my hair at home. She has also given me tips to keep the volume and to help it stay looking and feeling healthy. If you're someone who is worried to try someone knew - don't be worried with Katie, she'll do a great job! She really has an eye for what style will fit your face and lifestyle. I am one of those people who depends on a stylist (like I depend on my mechanic to fix my car) to know their craft and to make sure my hair is healthy and looks good. I took a chance based on Yelp reviews and I am SUPER glad that I did. I have very thick, wavy/curly coarse hair and many stylist do not know how to cut and style it. Katie ANALYZED my hair and cut it PERFECTLY. She understands all hair types. She is knowledgeable, warm, and professional. She is very attentive, asking questions in an effort to get to know me and my hair. She took her time and got it right. She is the best stylist that I have EVER gone to. Katie is AMAZING!!! I had a terrible experience with my hair from another salon. My hair was GREEN with orange tints through it! I found Katie's review, a color specialist , and made an appointment for a consultation. Well she took the time to explain to me what had to be done to correct my hair . I've been going to Katie for over three years now for cut and color. She is great with my curly, frizzy hair. I am very low-maintenance when it comes to how much time I have to do my hair, and she always checks for any concerns I have and adjusts the cut accordingly. Katie is not only an expert colorist able to fulfill any request or fix any mess, she has the ability to tame any mane! I am biracial and have extremely thick, poofy, curly hair.
