I have been coming here for years, but lately there are some issues I'm concerned with. #1: There are NO perks for being a loyal customer. Never any coupons, deals for however many times you go there, etc. The best seems to be to save a couple of dollars by paying cash over credit/debit card. It would be nice to feel appreciated and have some sort of reward or coupon program, given how large the business has grown to. #2: Lately, it seems that the nail techs are too busy to sanitize their tools in between customers. I really have no desire to catch anything from non-sanitized clippers, cuticle trimmers, or nail files. I would LOVE to see the techs opening sanitized tools in front of me while I'm there, so I know they're using clean stuff during my session. #3: I'm not sure if it's the tool or the techs, but I am so sick of my fingers getting cut up by the edges of the nail files! Like a papercut but deeper and it stings!! #4: Not everyone is trained equally. Some techs refuse to learn simple new techniques. It could be because they are over-worked and always busy. I also don't think each person does the dip manicure or the cat-eye manicure the same way - which way is the right way? It's different every time, it seems, and some techs' manicures definitely have better staying power and durability than others'. Overall, I find that this is a pretty good value for what you get, most of the techs do a good job, and I love that cat-eye dip is now being offered, but I'm just starting to question what's going on here. I am new to the area and just in town for work and needed my nails redone. Came across this place on Yelp and saw good reviews on it so I gave it a try. Kind of regretting it now. The place wasn't as clean as I thought it would be. I needed to soak off my old gel and was not happy with the soak off as well. They reuse the soak off for every customer, kind of gross. I wanted gel polish French and she doesn't seem to know how to do that well. My white tip came out all crooked and she had to fix it a couple of times. Some of the tip are still crooked. My nails was also filed unevenly. I had to tell her that it's not even. I'm going to have to redo these nails. Waste of money.. read more

This is a salon you're going to want to check out. I wouldn't come in without an appointment though so make sure you call ahead to book or you book online! I scheduled a spa gel pedicure and dip nails with anyone that would be available on a Friday at 9am. I accidentally sliced a finger and had a laceration healing on my finger. They were very accommodating and were willing to work around my injury. Ultimately I decided to just go with the pedicure to avoid any infection. This salon is huge. There are tow floors and when you come in you're supposed to walk to the second floor in order to check in. The woman and the man at check-in were extremely friendly and made me feel welcome. There is plenty of parking outside of the salon on the side of the building. When I walked in around 8:45 for my 9am appointment there were already 4 people sitting at chairs getting their hands done and 3-4 people getting pedicures. Apparently this is the place to me. My gel spa pedicure was relaxing and took a little over an hour. I definitely recommend the suggestion of getting there 15 min before your appointment to give you time to check in and pick out your color. The color selection is huge! Heads up: they don't accept AMEX and if you pay card there is a $2 convenience fee to pay with card. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is such a Syracuse gem. I was able to call at 9am on a Friday for a 10am appointment - gel manicure and pedicure. Location The salon has its own parking and entrance. There is a main store front entrance. Don't be silly like me and walk around. Just pop in from the entrance in the parking lot. Color Choices P L E N T Y Service My technician was so patient and thorough. When I showed her a color that I currently had and wanted, her and a helper found a similar selection. She also seemed to intuitively know that the color selection I made for the pedicure would not be dark enough. Her and the salon assistant then found the color I had hoped to have. To continue to be a PIA customer, I had selected a sparkle to go on top- my technician patiently painted 1 toe to make sure it's what I was wanting - of course, I didn't want the sparkle and then finished up my pedicure. So much patience with not one sign of irritation. Time Commitment The techs seem to take their time to ensure quality of product. I am not a massage person- a true minority, I know. I skipped the massages on both the mani and pedi and was in and out in about 1 hour and 15 mins. Ambiance The salon is two levels with plenty of stations. It has a warehouse vibe but comfortable. I wasn't going to leave a review until today when I realized a whole nail worth of polish popped off. I went a few months ago and wasn't super impressed, but decided to give them a second chance. I went earlier this week and got a dip manicure and a gel pedicure (which was fine). But my manicure is a mess. I got a dip manicure & honestly they look amess. The manicurist ripped my cuticles up so bad one of my fingers was bleeding. My nails are all completely different shapes and not even a week after my appointment a whole nail popped off! I don't do anything strenuous with my hands so it's not like this should happen, I even wear gloves when doing any dishes to not mess up my nails. This is my go-to spot for my gel pedicures and ANC nail dip. But recently, it has also been my hub for beautification all around. With a wedding coming up, I wanted to make sure I looked my best. I came to Kieu, at Cosmo, for 3D microblading tattoos and eyelash extensions. The prices were very reasonable. If you shop around for the same service elsewhere in Syracuse, and any other city, you'll find that it's a very competitive price here with Kieu. The microblading was a two session deal. The first session was like an outline almost and the second session was when the brows took full shape and texture. The second session allowed for my brows to have the really natural, fluffy hair look that I like. I naturally have really light eyebrows and was getting tired of having to draw them on daily. Three years prior, I got microblading done in California but it only lasted three months. This one with Kieu has already outlasted the other. It hasn't faded. I love waking up and being able to leave the house without doing anything to my brows. You get lidocaine on the brows prior to the microblading. The session was more painful than my session in California but with the longer lasting result, I don't mind. I've never gotten a tattoo so I don't know if it compares. As for lashes, this was my first time ever getting extensions. I'm in love! They look so natural and dreamy. I like the different lengths that add dimension to it. The session took an hour and a half and was pretty relaxing. The lashes feel like I have nothing on at all. It feels completely like I'm not wearing anything and it is light weight and pretty! I can see why folks get hooked to lash extensions now. The staff here are always very welcoming and nice. Not great. Cashmere was so nice but she tore my hands to shreds. I was going to do a gel mani because that's what I'm most comfortable with but Cashmere talked me into dip because "they would stay on till I took them off." Sounded good to me but she did not do a good job at all. Aside from cutting my fingers in at least six places, she applied the dip on my cuticles? Or very close to them, I guess. That's the best I can describe it... it's starting to grow out a little and my hair is getting stuck underneath the edge and it's driving me crazy. I don't want to take them off or pay for another manicure yet. I thought this would last longer than my gel mani which is why I got it. Apparently, they have a "out back" where the employees and all other patrons park. I walked through the front, which is a hair salon. But it was fine they knew I was lost and directed me to the back. I did not have an appointment but luckily I was able to snag a spot. This was a friday afternoon and WOW, this place was the place to BE lol. There were so many workers, this is like the apple store of nail salons. I just wanted a quick polish change for my hands and feet. Which is advertise at $10 and $12. Total would be 22 right? In the middle of polishing my hands, the tech told me it'll be 27. Hmm I wonder what the extra 5 was for. So i asked and she said they charge $2.00 more if you use a card. It just doesnt add up to what a price list says. After i let her reach into my wallet and take my card, she comes back and lets me sign the receipt. I gave her a 3 dollar tip,( but in reality I gave her $10.) After i go back to the front to leave, the guy at reception tells me to bring cash and it'll be $2.00 off the price listed. So clearly, she just over charged me for herself. -shrug- she was very nice though. so, I will be back! I made a nail appointment for a gel manicure and I left hysterically crying and so upset. I went to this salon with hard gel nails on which is very normal and any nail salon should know how to get this off. They then proceeded to drill and soak off my nails in dirty tubs of nail polish remover for a hour and 15 minutes. I had to cut my appointment short and not get them done because my nails from from long strong nails to weak and breaking off. I was so in so much pain that I now cannot do anything to my nails. if you are considering going PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT. I made a same day appointment for a pedicure and my first dip manicure. The pedicure - was with cashmere and she scrubbed my feet of all dead skin cells which was amazing and the 1st time ive had such a good/full pedicure. I cant wait to go back! my polish lasted for over a month. The dip manicure was $32 and did a really good job. i missed the 7 day touch up which resulted in the dip lifting after 2 weeks instead of lasting 3-4 weeks but ill try to make it next time for the free touch up. read more

I have been going here for about two months now and always go to ThaTha! She is incredible, I always get the dip manicures in regular colors but today I decided to try out the ombré dip powder. I came in with a photo of what I wanted and she replicated it exactly how I wanted. She always shapes my nails the way I like. I am shocked I had such a different experience than so many other people. First impressions is that it is dirty and not kept up. When I was finally seated the water was super hot. my girl had me soak then left for 25 minutes to take someone else despite having an appt. when it was over she just walked away and left me in the chair to talk to her friends. The dip removal station was very different than the usual foil and cotton ball process , it went much faster. Par did an amazing job on my nails. They look fantastic. Wow! This place is huge! Two floors of nails and a hair salon at the bottom. Immediately, I was rushed to choose a nail color. They do have a large selection to choose from, but the nail technician was waiting there with me to pick a color. I don't know her name, but she while cleaning my cuticles she made me bleed not 1, not 2, but 3 times!! I've been to plenty of salons back home in Seattle and never have I bled from cuticle cleaning. This time it actually hurt. Seeing that this nail salon has the best reviews in Syracuse, I'm disappointed what the area has to offer in terms of nails. It's also $16 for a manicure, while back home it's $12 for a way better job! I gave them 3 stars because the other nail technician did take time to help paint a missing spot that the original gal missed. My new favorite nail salon! I don't get manicures and pedicures often anymore. Really just for special occasions. This was my first time at cosmopolitan as I have tried other salons around the area and were not happy with them. I had a spa pedicure and dip manicure with Par. It was fantastic!! She took her time and was very detailed. The pedicure was especially great highly recommend the spa pedicure itself. It was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back! They also were great at sanitizing between customers and they even have you wipe off your personal belongings such as purse and phone when you come in.
