Chips and guacamole the guacamole is amazing, and so plentiful that half of it is buried underneath the mountain of chips!

I'm pretty sad that we live in the area and didn't know this place was here. The tacos are delicious and are a good portions, we came here twice in a week so I also had the quesadilla. The asada and shrimp tacos are flavorful and will be ordered again very soon. The carnitas quesadilla is delicious as well, the carnitas have good flavor and I loved the crisp in the tortilla. There is nothing worse than a super soft tortilla on a quesadilla, there should be some crunch. Anyway, we were greeted right away and everyone that works here is very nice and respectful. We will be back soon!

Great food and service! Big portions and tasty food. I had the steak quesadillas and the portion was enough for leftovers. Staff were friendly. They had tables and chairs outside so you could eat there or take it to go. This little roadside gem was worth the stop along the way. We would recommend and go back again!

4- asada tacos with a side of refried beans

We are visiting the New River area & happened upon Katrina Tacos & talk about an amazing discovery! Yes, it's a food truck. Yes, it's set up in a gravel parking lot. Yes, it has covered seating with clean tables/chairs. But, talk about pure taco deliciousness! We first stopped by on a Friday afternoon to try them out. Basic street tacos are a great way to try out the food & these were pure tastebud overload. The serving size was amazing for $4 you actually had enough asada meat for the two tortillas the taco came with (I separated my tortillas) plus another regular sized corn tortilla. The refried beans were delicious also. I tried them plain then added some of the salsa provided, the mild salsa truly added to flavor of the beans. We loved our meal so much we ended up returning the next afternoon for another order of tacos. The gentlemen working were the same both days & they even remembered us, especially remembering hubby's dairy allergies. Talk about excellent customer service. When you're in the New River area be sure to check out Katrina Tacos, their taco are out of this world & we've heard excellent things about their burritos, maybe next time!

    12$ of two avocados

The way I am flabbergasted right now. I walked up, ordered chips n guac and asked for a smaller container. I asked for two avocados instead of one due to me ordering chips n guac in the past and the chips ALWAYS out weighing the guac so this time I doubled the guac order thinking it would make up for the abundance of chips... but they really charged me 14$ for a bottle of coke and a container of guacamole. Zero chips. A spoon!!! are you kidding me? Just CHECK YOUR ORDERS BEFORE LEAVING.. bc they don't answer the phone if you call. And I'm not driving back just to get chips smh. I live in Phoenix. Update- I was charged 16$ after it went thru the bank and all I got was guacamole smh

This food truck is simply the best. Not a lot of words needed to describe it but I love all that I've tried. They offer fresh guacamole with chips, burritos, quesadillas and tacos. Various proteins including grilled fish. The menu is pretty limited but what they offer is done right. They have covered seating to enjoy your meal or you can get it to go. Service is friendly and fairly fast considering everything is short order. Call ahead if you're in a hurry. It's a food truck so no real ambiance but the seating is just right, clean and plenty of parking. Give them a try.

Found this place on Yelp as we drove to PHX to fly out after a few days up in Sedona. Anthem, AZ. didn't appear to have too much to offer other than the basic chain restaurants, so we decided to try Katrina Taco's. Almost gave up trying to find this place as it's on an access road and the visuals don't suggest any type of food option is about to appear but keep looking and you'll see it! Literally in the middle of nowhere. I figured this was either going to be a memorable meal or they would be hunting us for sport in the desert. Luckily, it was a memorable meal! We ordered chicken and shrimp tacos. Both were delicious with overflowing portions. Very reasonable prices as well. The local fire truck and crew pulled up for lunch as well which is always a good sign. Very friendly folks with great tacos so don't let the drive out scare you off! Also, very cool bathroom (see photo).

Unfortunately, the business displayed a large political sign on the hill behind, which they confirmed was theirs. We felt unwelcome and will not be coming here again.

FANTASTIC FOOD!!! My husband and I ate here yesterday for the first time and came back today for more! Generous portions and outstanding quality of food! We will definitely be back (again)! :)

We were looking for a lunch option and saw all the stellar reviews for Katrina Tacos. We were also very impressed! It's sat up on the hill on the side of the i-17 access rd between Anthem Way and New River. Pretty unassuming location, but there are a couple signs on the road to point you in the right direction. When you get there, you park in the dirt lot. There are a few tables under a sun shade for you to sit and eat your food at. I know some earlier reviews said they only took cash but that has since changed. We used our card today with just a small surcharge (about 3% which is pretty typical of small businesses using credit/debit machines). We ordered three tacos; the carnitas, the pastor and the carne asada. Even those these are street taco size, the amount of meat that came in each taco was enough to double the order! The meat was flavorful on its own, but there were two sauces on the table to add if you wanted to. The tortillas had a nice crisp to the outside and held up well to the weight of the meat. They didn't turn into the soggy floppy corn tortillas that sometimes happens with the street taco size tortillas. We paired our tacos with a Jarritos grapefruit soda and a side of rice. Should've gone for some chips too, so maybe we will next time.

The restaurant is inside of an old brick home with wood interior and warm colors. The service was good-- friendly and food came out at a good pace, we were checked on regularly. We ordered an appetizer and then entrees from the lunch menu. The aguachile appetizer is SO good. It's bright, fresh, and has a lot of flavor in the green sauce. It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). I look forward to trying other items from the menu, I was eyeing the steak Mexicano or red snapper. Those dishes sound good for dinner.

This restaurant is centrally located near the ASU campus and offers generous patio seating in addition to their indoor dining area. I was greeted upon entering and since I was dining alone I decided to sit at the bar. I didn't realize you were supposed to order at the register at the bar, but the bartender was kind and took my order from my seat at the bar instead. I started with chips and salsa, which came with guacamole but I'm not a fan so I didn't give it a try. The chips were perfectly cooked and seemed to be house-made or at least a high quality chip as they were thick and had a good salty flavor. The red salsa had good flavor but mild spice. The green salsa was bright and had a little kick to it. I wasn't super hungry, so I only ordered one chicken taco (without the avocado salsa). The taco was pretty good, although I was anticipating a chopped grilled chicken but it came with more of a pilled marinated chicken. Still good, just not what I expected from a more "authentic" taco. I also missed having a salsa bar with toppings (onions, pico, etc) that you can add. Instead these tacos came as designed by the chef. I also ordered the mango and original house margaritas, both were refreshing and hit the mark with the chips and tacos. They had a $5 margarita for a special as it was Monday, but my margarita was full price. Not sure what the difference was, perhaps a lower quality tequila? This is a great spot for a quick bite or a light happy hour. They are newer, so show some local support!

Also bring a group. The portions are huge and the food is clearly meant to be shared. Trust me on this one, bring friends. I've tried a bunch of dishes here, and there are a few I always go back to. For the table, Camarones Locos is an easy choice. The flame grilled shrimp comes out hot and full of flavor, perfect for passing around. La Patrona ceviche tower is massive and worth the order. When it hits the table, you immediately feel good about the decision. El Pulpazo is technically an entrée, but we always order it as a shareable. The octopus is grilled perfectly and it comes with rice and beans, so everyone gets a little of everything. For entrées, my number one pick is the Lobster and Crab Enchiladas with green sauce. I think about this dish at least once a week. The enchiladas are packed with lobster and crab, and the green sauce ties the whole thing together. Honestly, I could talk about this place all day. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic.
