It's a triple act here - shop, cafe and takeaway. The shop sells all manner of Italian foods - pasta and Roma's home made pasta sauces, rice, polenta, pannetone, home made ice cream, sausages, charcuterie, antipasti... you name it, it's here. Then there's the take out - home made pizzas etc. (we went for a take out salami calzone which was amazing) and desserts. The desert I went for was something with an Italian name which I could barely pronounce so I'm hardly going to try and spell it now, but suffice it to say it was an amazing blend of meringue, amaretti biscuits and Nutella. We didn't sample the cafe but it was doing brisk business on a Saturday lunchtime and lots of the people were clearly regulars. The standout feature of our visit had to be the staff. Even though we were only getting a very small order, they incredibly attentive - taking time to explain the options, asking how we wanted things packing, offering to tweak the temperature of the calzone better to our suiting.

The staff were lovely and accommodating for our group. A couple of us ordered their Club Sandwich and the portions were hearty, with the separate portions of chips being crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside (i.e. how they should be!). It's in a great location after a walk around the lake, though given its size it would definitely get very busy during the more popular times of the week. Be sure to check out their deli counter for the likes of scones and other baked goodies.

I had the pleasure of visiting cute little Littleborough a few weeks ago to do a short photography project. fair to say I was blown away by the place and in particular this tiny Deli in the heart of the village. With the city centre littered with franchises and chains, finding independant business' has become a mission of mine. Discovering this little hidden gem therefore gave me a great deal of satisfaction. I've bookmarked it and will be returning to review Hollingworth Lake a small piece of Lake District not far from here.

I shouldn't have to make an excuse to go here - It's excellent. The ground floor is their outstanding chocolate and cake shop - definitely worth spending some time here tasting and choosing what they have on offer. Their selection of over 40 celebration cakes on display are stunning - you'll find yourself staring at them like some sort of art. A few of the wedding cakes are pushing £1,000.. asking if it would be worth it? For me, yes! Their cakes are amazing - no wonder Wayne Rooney bought his wedding cake from here and had it shipped to Italy. You'll find me with my face pressed up against the viewing window where you can watch the cake decorators working hard to perfect these masterpieces *drool* I'm certainly not planning my wedding or anything but I already know that there's a massive possibility that my cake will be from here. On the first floor is an elegant restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and of course CAKE. The menu is fab and I haven't heard anybody mention a bad word about it. I have yet to visit the restaurant and I hear that unless you book weeks in advance you've no chance of getting in, but this only makes me want to try it even more and it is certainly on my list. In the past I have bought baskets from here and made my own hampers, mainly for family or friends at Christmas time - consisting of chocolates, hand make cakes, biscuits, marmalades, wines etc (all locally sourced). Since it's catering to the Jewish community it's closed on Saturdays which means more people will miss out... but it's worth making the effort to drop in. We stop by for the bagels - freshly made, cheap, and better than anything you'll get in a supermarket. Throw in some smoked salmon or some of their wide variety of sandwich fillers and you've got a winning combination. Staff are super friendly and the prices are very, very good. If you're Jewish then this is the place to get Kosher foods you may struggle to find elsewhere, but even if you're not then this is still a great place to stop and get some fresh and great tasting food.

Went for a French Brie, creamy blue Brie and this incredible horseradish cheese, which is really tasty if you like horseradish. My friend Holly had the coffee and cake option. It was insanely good value for money! The decor is a bit simple and basic but the staff are fantastic and the cheese top notch. I love The Butchers Quarter - every time I come here I'm greeted with so much enthusiasm and joy it's just so refreshing! The guys who work here are clearly passionate about meat and they can answer pretty much any question that you have. They offer advice on how best to cook the meats that you're buying, how to prepare them and how to get the most for your money. They'll let you know where the meats have been sourced - all from local farms - and give you anything else you want to know. The gym pack is £35 which is what I buy on a weekly, sometimes every two weeks, basis. It consists of 10 chicken breasts, 2 pork chops, 2 rump steaks, beef steak mince and beef stir fry. I always but sausages from here too! You can also get wines, cheeses and cold cuts from here - so you can tick off half your shopping list before you leave. The meat is premium quality and I know this because it doesn't shrink when you cook it. It's excellent. It's a must go for your meat!
