My friend and her husband wanted to spend some time with family nearby at a rock climbing facility on a Sunday. They dropped me off at the Katy Mills Mall, which happens to be pretty much next door. It was quite convenient actually. I probably spent about 3 or so hours here enjoying and killing time at the mall. The Katy Mall is small enough to walk in circles for days on end and probably get bored. There is 1 major food court, but on Sundays, it seemed sadder than others. There wasn't much to do here other than shop. I did see a lot of families shopping here, which is nice. I ended up walking the mall space at least a few dozen times, trying to discover what's around. I ended up sitting at the food court playing with my phone and falling asleep. When I was awake and walking around, I felt like the Katy Mills mall was decent and had potential to attract more people in the surrounding communities. I think that the mall was newly built, maybe less than 5 years old, but I am not mistaken. The mall has majority of your essential stores and anchor businesses to make this an one stop shop for anything and everything you need on a daily basis. Complete with the food court to complete life as you know it today. It was nice that they had a movie theater here but nothing was good to see while I was there. The overall experience here at the Katy Mills mall was decidedly decent and definitely a place where you can chill and maybe rest your head for a few hours. I probably slept at one of the tables at the food court for about 45 minutes before my friend rang me and told me that they were finished and on their way to pick me up for dinner that night. The mall itself was clean and organized daily. It was cool to see a lot of the name brand stores and businesses and discover new ones along the way. For the most part though, I thought that Katy Mills mall experience could have been better, but at least it beats staying in the house for majority of the day. It took me about 15 minutes to circle the mall at a steady pace. I probably took about 3 laps before chilling at the food court. I ended up grabbing a soda from a nearby food court vendor and did some people watch before falling asleep. Not the best shopper or customer, but that's my experience here at Katy Mills Mall for 3 ish hours on a Sunday in December 2025. If you enjoy the mall experience, consider coming to Katy and enjoy the beauty that is the Katy Mills Mall. Might be the best thing in the community besides the restaurants. Katy Mills mall is located in the heart of Katy, Texas, one of Houston's many suburbs. It's owned by Simon Malls and located at 5000 Katy Mills Circle. Many of the merchants and businesses accepts major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there is a ton of parking options to choose from. Make sure you know where you parked, or else you'll have a fun time finding your vehicle after you finish your time inside the mall. Best bet would be to come early enough to secure a prime parking spot before the mad rush comes. Not sure about regional public transportation options here, but best thing to do is to either rent a car or find local friends to hang out with here in Katy. Of course, there is also Uber and Lyft to help you get here or anywhere in the metro Houston area you'd like to be. This mall is pretty cool for what it can be. It's a credit to the Katy community for sure. The food court could be freshened up, but other than that, it's a nice mall that's comparable to The Woodlands Mall in The Woodlands or the Galleria in Houston. As with most malls these days, this one felt pretty sad. I came on a Wednesday afternoon hoping to get some work clothes at the "outlet" stores. Over the years I've found that outlet stores are usually not much of a deal and better sales can be found on the clearance racks of the regular stores. This mall was no exception. The styles were dated, many of the stores had leaks from the ceiling, merchandise with dust or tags so old and worn you wonder what the garments have been through. The forever 21 that seems to have once been an anchor is now vacant. I only bought something from old navy and the items were available at the regular store as well. Online shopping has ruined the American mall but this one is still trying to hold on. I gave 2 stars because they open early as a walking track which I think is great and there are still a good amount of recognizable stores open. If you live nearby and have time to kill by all means. Otherwise, don't go out of your way. read more

Overall the mall is extremely huge! They layout is organized to where it's not a bunch of stores just placed inside one building. They have a wide range from Polo to the Cheesecake Factory! In my "old age" I have grown to not like malls much, they're usually over crowded, expensive and a pain with parking. I visited Katy Mills to kill some time. I LOVED that they had a Marshall's in the mall. Marshalls/TJMAXX stores are more my style than the expensive ones like JCrew and whatnot. I was able to find stuff for everyone in my family here. Aside from Marshall's, I only went into Buckle (I have been carrying a $100 Buckle gift card with me for years and never find anything... at this location, I was never greeted or talked to by any employee so needless to say, I left empty handed). There are a TON of stores, many of which are outlet/factory stores, too many to name. I came in an entrance by Rainforest Cafe and was intrigued. I have never seen one in person and I t looked quite interesting. Menu seemed a bit lacking. Needless to say, I was only at Katy Mills for maybe 50 minutes. Not nearly enough to really explore. There is a large variety of stores at this mall. You can just about find anything you are looking for. I will say that some of the prices are not all that great. A lot stuff isn't on "sale". All of the employees I have encountered have been friendly and helpful. One of my complaints now that I am a mom is that the baby changing tables are right next to the loud hand dryers... like about a foot away. They scared my daughter! Katy Mills Mall was billed as a discount outlet mall, but it has always been quite expensive. Other than Staples like Books-A-Million, expect to pay a lot for everything. Sometimes there's a good sale, but unless you're a serious shopper willing to spend hours on such a hunt, it's not really worth it. While generic fast food is in the food court, there is some pretty good food. We have come here to lunch alone several times. The vendors in the middle are extremely aggressive and refuse to take no for an answer. They alone are enough to make me avoid this mall. read more

I've been working at the mall for 2-3 years here's everything I have to say as of 2024. The mall is just your regular local mall, it has one floor, and walking distance is about 1 mile so this isn't really a big mall at all. It does have a variety of stores but nothing too big such as macys, target, or Dillard's. It also does not have a smoothie king anymore and does not have a coffee or donut place. It does have a playground for kids, a movie theater, and carousel. The food court is very small and only has about 8 places to eat and I wanna say 4 of those are the same bento boxes/ Chinese places. It does contain other restaurants such as rain forest, Cheesecake Factory, and others but are not near the food court. Cleanliness is not good, I've seen literal dog poop on the floor, people leaving trash anywhere they can, the trash cans are filled to the top many times, and don't even start on the bathrooms that have literal pee on the floor (yes even the women's bathroom). Sometimes the entrances smell awful, not just from people smoking (which I can get over) but mostly from the trash that's left there. Thought it does look like they've been getting better at cleaning the past few months. The parking lot also has plenty of trash and many many holes, almost every entrance has big holes right in the middle of it. Ouch. Safety has also been getting better since there has been less fight and I've noticed more police. If you're also up with the news you've heard everything that has happened here, and around the surrounding area. Saying all of this, I would not recommend this as a tourist spot, maybe just a one time thing to explore. But if you want a good mall go to the ones near downtown (galleria, memorial), there's much to do there. This is more of your local mall you'd go to if it's near you. Nothing too fancy. read more

Since it if tax free weekend and we were near the mall, we thought we would take a chance and see if there was anything interesting. We found a couple things that were a decent price. It was pretty busy with last minute back to school shopping but the lines went fast. It was nice to go to an inside mall with a selection of stores where I could touch the material to see if I liked it instead of hoping it was ok after buying online. And the staff was nice even though they had to be tired. I would come to this mall again if I were in the area. read more

Absolutely spectacular and massive mall - and if you walk from one end to the other you feel like you just walked for 3 miles. The layout means there are tons of access points, which is handy. Massive number of stores and a very large food court with not too many great things in it although they have an excellent bubble tea stand that is part of a very good chain but hasn't quite got its act together yet despite being extremely friendly - Feng Cha. If it does then you will be in for a treat, judging by their NYC and Dallas locations. I don't think you should spend so much of your money here. Save it for the Katy Bills. The Victoria's Secret here is good, and the Build-A-Bear next to it is super friendly. The It'sugar has the sexiest pix on the walls of all the many nationwide locations I've been to. Fun times though, seeing some of the racist/anti-city-folk/anti-poor-people posts on here. I'm all for freedom of expression, but not blatant discrimination. F***ing fascists. Forget the people giving this Mall a low rating. They want Katy to be The Woodlands. Newsflash. Katy is infinitely more multicultural now, and is becoming more so by the week. And it's better for it. Some of the people here (such as the girl I came with) are so good looking that they give me Katy Chills. Speaking of which, this mall is famous, because it's the first place where she did a "legs and feet" pro photo shoot in public (i.e. not the kind that could get her arrested for obscenity), in her hometown of Houston. She's done them in Los Angeles and Vegas before, but never in TX. Kudos to the security and fellow mall-goers for not interrupting the shoot or giving her a hard time. It's become one of her popular ones. Where does Katy Perry get dinner? I'm not sure, but whoever provides those Katy Meals must have also designed Katy Mills, because it's elaborate, delicious, and caters to all kinds of tastes! They have a lot of the outlet stores here. Some of my favs include the Nike store and Kate Spade. Nike factory has shoes on sales for sometimes 60-70% off. I got some Nike frees for $40, regularly $110. Kate spade outlet only has their outlet stuff at super discount (70% off plus another 20%) kind of deals. The quality isn't always there with their outlet products. You can feel the materials and tell. Good if you want the name and don't care if the purse breaks down easily. :/ read more
