All of the vendors were nice and most were eager to give samples. Stop by Dee's Nuts (yes you read that correctly) and by some Sriracha Ranch and Dill Pickle flavors to mix (yes you read that correctly). Delish! Also grabbed some Ruin beverages. Instead, you have to sign up in person (given very little notice), pay with cash before receiving a hand-written receipt, and have your info sheet added to a giant, messy appearing binder. This organizational method has routinely caused many issues, including double booking same-type vendors and losing track of cancellations/communication with vendors. We have attended 14 of the last 15 Katy Market Days as a well-loved vendor of fresh-squeezed lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved ice. Our first 6 or so events with Katy Market Days ran smooth with very little interaction with Betsy and Harry Proctor, the owners of The Limited Edition Art and Antiques and coordinators of Katy Market Day. As the months progressed, more issues appeared, including multiple lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved iced vendors attending the market, despite reassurance this wouldn't happen. We were always met with excuses such as, "a new girl let the other vendors book". The market this past Saturday started with a duplicate shaved ice truck parked directly across from our booth. Harry, Betsy's husband, handled the situation with respect and professionalism. He apologized for the double booking and offered a refund for this month's market. His attitude and demeanor was much appreciated in the midst of a frustrating situation for both vendors. Shortly after, a large, white food truck pulled directly in front of our booth and parked, hiding us from view of customers. My husband asked Betsy if the truck was going to stay, as it was an unusual spot and there was plenty of other options. My husband walked back to our booth and Betsy chased him down and began YELLING that the "truck is not moving" and we are "more trouble than we're worth". This outburst made the vendors surrounding us and the customers in my line visibly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this display was not out of character for Betsy as we've witnessed numerous verbal disputes and disproportionate negative reactions toward other vendors over the course of our time. We've seen Betsy run after and scream at another vendor leaving the event early. Betsy routinely speaks abruptly and disrespectful toward vendors while signing up. In our early days of attending KMD, she even refused to let me and my young son use the restroom in her store while I was heavily pregnant and in dire need. Sometimes making an exception to a rule is necessary and compassionate. You'll hear numerous similar stories from most every vendor. Katy Market Day has the potential to be an excellent monthly event for the community but sadly falls short due to ineffective, unprofessional, and callous management.

It's clean and nice and has a cool Russian grocery store, and some little places that we like to check out now and then. I definitely give it a four star rating, even though the road next to it is really annoying for getting in and out.

It's a good Plaza which is easy to get into, and kind of in the middle of nowhere (which I said already), so it hasn't been plagued by bad traffic yet. The KFT that is at this plaza is a shiny new Kung Fu Tea location in the middle of nowhere (that's the third time I said that) in Richmond Texas, not too horribly far from Katy and not to horribly far from Sugar Land and not even too horribly far from Vietnamesetown and Chinatown. Sort of in the middle of all three of them, and a sort of a tumbleweed-infested wasteland between a lot of popular areas. If you like to take the Westpark Tollway then it's not too far off the tollway. It's also not too far from the Grand Parkway. And most importantly, it has extremely lovely service and really nice products too.

The farm placed a small 8x11 inch sign near the entrance of a open field that read "pumpkin patch parking". Needless to say, we didn't see the sign until 3 U-turns. The entrance fee was $10, but it should have been more like $3. The grass was overgrown and sadly the grounds were upkeep. Per a friend, in previous years the farm provided a small train around the farm for the kids to ride, but this year nothing. The small playground was messy with lots of dirt on the toys and trash in the enclosed area. The staff was unfriendly and very rude at times. They provided horseback rides and the kids were able to do this, but the staff again very rude to the kids. It was like the kids were bothering them (why work at the farm if you don't like kids). The pumpkins ranged from $5-40 dollars and this was totally over priced since the size of the pumpkins we very small and you can purchase a better pumpkin from the local grocery store large and less expensive. They had a Halloween trail with lots of dirty plastic hands and feet. It was NOT frightening or scary at all and our 6-8 years olds ask why did the farm drop hands everywhere. Buyer beware and save your money, time and your kids from a horrible experience.

So it's a massive and awesome Plaza - one of many - but it definitely rivals the others as one of the better options for rent, and it's a great Plaza to explore for sure.
