As mentioned above in other reviews. Dr Fahmi and the nurses are very good, but the Office Manager…read moreis very rude unprofessional and disrespectful. Ended up hanging up on me when I called yesterday. Also, the office wants to charge you ahead even before billing to your insurance to see what you really need to pay for visits or services like EKG etc. Once they made me pay for an EKG and then my insurance paid them too. so, they Got paid twice for the service and never heard back from them. I had to double check and call them & they wanted me to go to the office in person in order to refund me my payment when they already had my CC information. Another issue, they don't send statements neither call if you have a balance pending. How are you supposed to know if you have a pending balance or where to send the payment payable to who? etc. I really tried to stay in the office because the DR. is good but to have a hard time every time you need something is not good at all.

Dr. Fahmi has been my physician for nearly 20 years and was also my mother's PCP until her untimely passing from Leukemia. She is compassionate, thorough, and a consummate professional. I am a licensed medical provider and have never felt uncomfortable, unheard, or in doubt about her care. I have known Lourdes, her medical assistant, equally as long as she is truly a gem of the practice. I'm seen right away and have rarely been in the waiting room with more than one other person, at most 2 or 3. Are there times when there may be a longer wait? I'm sure of it, but this happens in every facet of healthcare. Dr. Fahmi is an excellent choice if you are looking for a competent and caring medical provider.

Unfortunately I would never recommend Dr. Mao as a surgeon to perform blepharoplasty. If you are…read moreconsidering blepharoplasty you should see an oculoplastic surgeon/surgeon board certified in Ophthalmology. Dr. Mao's oversight cost me $40,000 in surgical repair fees ($15,000 if done through a less experienced surgeon) from THE BEST surgeon in the country that corrects these issues (lower lid retraction and entropion). The repair surgery involves a graft from the roof of my mouth being used on the back of my eyelid. It's not guaranteed it will even work because the damage to my eye is so extensive. I had been living in horrible discomfort as my lower eye lashes have been turned into my eye. Dr. Mao wasn't able to recommend a protective contact lens to ease the pain. Another surgeon I consulted with recommended it. It was a lifesaver. Immediately following my first surgery with Dr. Mao, I can see the lower lid of my left eye is pulled down. Sadly, nobody caught it at followup appointments until I brought it up. I was consistently told by Amanda that I looked good. Dr Mao performed a second surgery 3 wks post op to correct it, unfortunately only made it worse. One time I woke up and my eye was bleeding in the middle of the night. It was terrifying. After a 3rd surgery with no improvement, I decided to seek a specialist. PLEASE do not have anyone other than an experienced oculoplastic surgeon perform surgery on your eyes. And never have implants inserted into your tear troughs - no oculoplastic surgeon would recommend them. Initially I felt that Amanda was helpful and compassionate but in hindsight I believe she was gaslighting me. She kept telling me I looked great despite specialists telling me I needed grafts to fix the retraction. I never had access to Dr. Mao post op - only Amanda or Arissa. Everything went through Amanda. Dr. Mao's office has not offered any financial assistance towards the specialist repair surgery despite the damage done to my eye. I don't want anyone else to endure this extremely traumatic & costly experience. From my perspective it's important to choose a surgeon to perform the surgery that knows how to correct it should something go wrong.

One practitioner failed to treat his illness and spoke to him with outright disrespect--completely unacceptable behavior from anyone, let alone a medical professional. Children deserve to be treated with care and dignity, and that was absolutely not the case here. On top of that, the front office staff is consistently rude and dismissive to parents. It's painfully clear they no longer care about their patients or their families. If your child's well-being matters to you, stay far away from this place.

My child had an apt canceled and they still billed his insurance (I only caught it when I got the bill for the copay in the mail). Staff: The front office staff is atrocious- no follow through, no call backs, no personality (terrible for working in a pediatric office). The physician we saw took 10 days to send in a prescription for my child who went a week without their medication. This physician also barely assesses the child when in the office: never measured head circumferences of my children when they were infants, no assessment on my last child who was there (point of care strep test + and thus treated the strep and never assessed him, just gave antibiotics), etc. If you are looking for good, thorough care for your child, this is not the place. I went against the advice of others I know who useD this practice and left b/c of the same issues, thinking it was close, convienent, and the pediatrician we were seeing was personable with kids. Don't make the same mistake I made - the kids deserve better care than what this practice can give.

I had a deeply disappointing and costly experience with Dr. Carpenos at New England Spine and Disc…read more I came in with leg pain caused by two degenerating discs pinching a nerve. During my initial visit, Dr. Carpenos recommended spinal decompression therapy -- a treatment not covered by insurance. He then started to talk to me like a snake oil salesman: fast and confusing. I explained that I had a very limited budget and needed clarity before committing. So I asked him to slow down and I asked some very specific questions about how the treatment wold work, what the success rate typically was, and what I could expect if I decided to follow the treatment plan. Instead of answering my questions calmly, he became visibly annoyed and said he felt "pressured" by me. I reminded him that it was MY body and my very limited, hard-earned money -- and I was the one feeling pressured to spend it without him having the patience to explain this therapy that insurance wouldn't even cover a significant portion of. His first response was to say that financial hardship shouldn't be a barrier to treatment. When I said I'd have to decline since I couldn't afford the full amount he wanted (Close to 4,000 as I recall) he suggested fewer visits for about half the price. , When I expressed concern and asked if I'd still get relief he assured me I would, so I agreed to take part in the treatment. But at the end of the treatment, I felt no improvement. When I reminded him of his earlier assurance, he said, "I expected that you'd feel a bit better, see the results, want more improvement, and then commit to the final visits." He'd completely ignored my statement at the beginning that there WAS no more money. I felt completely misled and taken advantage of. The experience was not only financially draining but physically uncomfortable. His chiropractic adjustments were rushed, and during one session, he failed to check the placement of my arms during a bear hug/anterior thoracic adjustment. When "hugged" me sharply my fists were jammed into my voice box which hurt so I reflexively pushed back. He asked what was wrong and I explained what had happened. The following week, he asked if my cold was better. When I looked at him, confused, he said "Well, last week you had a sore throat, didn't you?" [It was surreal, like he just was unable to take any responsibility for his own actions.] He also gave questionable medical advice outside his expertise -- once telling me not to use sunscreen despite a family history of skin cancer -- and another time I heard him telling his staff that he'd advised another patient to ignore their cancer doctor's recommendations and to follow his own. Dr. Carpenos' demeanor throughout my treatment was pushy, rude, and evasive when asked direct questions. His team failed to track the decompression machine's pressure settings, so I had to remember my own numbers to ensure proper progression -- a detail that made me feel my investment wasn't respected. If you read his responses to other negative reviews, you'll see a pattern: sarcasm, deflection, and a refusal to take responsibility. I strongly caution anyone considering treatment here. While some patients may find relief, many don't -- and Dr. Carpenos seems far more focused on securing payment than on assessing whether spinal decompression is truly appropriate for your condition.

There was no explaining except the one item of feeling improvement once they left - there was none and it got worse. The rest of the time was just rudeness and yelling. I was given a next day virtual appointment. I explained that I would need an in-person appointment to conduct an actual physical (blood work, vitals, etc). I was then met with the most unprofessional experience I have ever experienced with a doctor (and I deal with many different doctors in my career daily). The manner and tone in which I was spoken to by this doctor was unprincipled and rude. I was refused care because of her own beliefs about Covid, and I was indirectly told that the office no longer wanted my business. This doctor went off about how she only received the first vaccine and that she has a wedding to attend. I will obviously no longer be a patient of this doctor, but wanted to share this information to help other people who are seeking out medical care in the future. She lacks compassion, empathy and clearly medical knowledge.
