Finally, I decided to eat here after much delay and due to reviews about a good chicken fried steak being served here. I visited New Year's morning with my wife and daughter. They ordered cheese burgers, and I ordered a chicken fried steak breakfast with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. I should have followed suit. The chicken fried steak that was served to me was soggy with grease, not crispy at all. It was more like a grease sponge. I took a bite, and the flour coating on the steak was still soft, doughy, and greasy. Steak inside was well seasoned, however. I called upon our waitress, and as I was trying to explain the problem to her, she interrupted me and said, "Fine, want me to bring you out something else?". Like, wow, calm down, lady. I don't want to ruin your New Years morning. I simply asked if she could instruct the chef to make a new one, make it crispy, and let the grease drain. When she brought back the plate, it was the same chicken fried steak I returned. The only difference was that the top of it was browned a bit more while the bottom was soggy and greasy. Basically, they put it in a hot oven in an attempt to crisp it not realizing that the hot air of an oven will only crisp (burnt in this case) the top of food because hot air rises to the roof of the oven. On closer inspection of the fried steak, it looked like they cooked it in a very shallow pan, with very little oil, hence why the bottom dough was flat as if it had been sitting, and why the top was so doughy. It also tasted like the oil hadn't been changed after every steak. There is a reason why chicken fried steaks are deep fried, as deep frying limits the time the steak has to sit in the oil while simultaneously cooking it through, making it crispy. You can't do that in a shallow pan with an amount of oil that barely covers the steak. By letting it sit in a shallow pan of oil, it just soaks in it. Upon leaving, I noticed a few other people in the restaurant had chicken fried steaks similar to mine, soggy, soaked in grease, and they didn't look happy either. After eating it, I had some of the worst nausea for 3 days, a sore upset stomach for an entire week, and frequent visits to the toilet. I won't be coming back here. The waitress was rude, but she's forgiven because she was probably stressed because she had a lot of tables to wait on. That I can get over and forgive her for it. However, I can not forgive the chef for serving a soggy, greasy dish that ruined my work week and a bad start of a new year. He should be ashamed of himself for putting that on a plate, serving it, only to get it returned, and cut corners trying to cover up his shotty cooking ability only to fail at it. The eggs and hasbrowns that came with my plate were good. My wife's cheeseburger, on the other hand, was falling apart due to the chef using OLD stale hamburger buns. I took a piece of it and rubbed it between my fingers. It was stale and old, hence why her burger was just falling apart in her hands. read more

This is my favorite place for breakfast. Delicious pancakes and omelets, and they never hassle me about substitutions. Also the best burger I've had in the valley. As a bonus, they give a small discount to school employees. I've always had good customer service as well. Highly recommend. read more

First I came in to ask for a bathroom and was told it was outside and the key wasn't available they said they would let me know when it is available , which never happened. I ordered my food and asked for hash browns and got home fries. Asked if they could make what I ordered with hash browns their reply it will take awhile. After we placed our order, she looked down and asked why there were flowers at the table and we told her it was our friends birthday. I have been going here for years I was here last week with my husband and we always have pretty good service except when we get served by the older blonde lady this last time we went I couldn't help to notice that we were the only table she was serving that she looked extremely bothered by and I can't help to feel if it was because we weren't white .. and I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt in the past but it's the same thing every time we get served by her the look on her face and the way she talks to us makes me feel like she's serving us against her will I hope she gets the help she needs read more

Every time I dine at Katz N' Jammers Cafe they never disappoint! By far the best breakfast spot in town no doubt about it. The service is excellent especially when being served by Ben! He is an outstanding server, very humble and friendly. ALWAYS checking on how you're doing and getting your orders out on time and asking if you need anything. Did an Apple Maps search for breakfast and this restaurant came up. We came in on Sunday 10/01/2023 at 9am. Restaurant was full except a few tables. We did not have to wait to be seated. All the servers are friendly and work together. They always check on every client, not only their own. My coffee was always full and refilled. Food was good. I ordered the California omelette, it had too much sour cream, but it was filling. Ambiance is a typical diner restaurant, normal volume conversation. read more

I don't know how to feel about this review without reaching for the race card but I'll do my best. Came to this place based off the reviews and pictures. Upon entering we were greeted pretty friendly by a waitress, so I anticipated this would be a good experience. We were told to seat ourselves. There was a "booth" that had an employee's apron on top of the table and there was a "diner table" across from it. I asked if we could have the booth considering the apron was on the table in which she said, she doesn't know if the worker was done at the table. She didn't bother to ask, so we sat at the table across from the booth. Typically, most businesses would attempt to accommodate considering. After about 10 minutes we were finally acknowledged. While the male server took our order, 3 of the employee sat at the booth across from us and started eating food. After the waiter took our order and brought our food he then sat at the table with the other three employees and started eating leaving no staff available. I attempted to be patient but eventually had to interrupt their work place social gathering to ask for butter. No one ever checked on us. The food we received did not look like the pictures and the portions were smaller than most pictures posted. Tasted salty and thrown together. My experience did not reflect the reviews which strongly made me feel that it had to do with race. The staff was very kind with majority of the other patrons which it was obvious we're regulars. I think this is some of the worst service that I've received. Felt like I was bothering them by supporting their business. Nothing about it was worth a tip. Horrible experience. Came here with the SO and his buddies and his kids for a late morning breakfast/lunch. We happened upon here after I had bookmarked places for breakfast in Lancaster, but also because our buddy worked at his nearby tattoo shop and wanted to show us his cool ad on Katz n' Jammers' tables. Located in a quiet street on Beech and next to a trophy store, Katz n' Jammers is a 50's-themed diner serving breakfast and lunch. Inside, their walls are covered in 50's memorabilia, a vintage TV behind their counter plays the Three Stooges on repeat, and a mint-condition jukebox sits in the back near the kitchen. I ordered the Big Bopper's Special, 6 oz. chicken fried steak with country potatoes and two eggs. For about $14, it's a bit pricier than other places I've been to, but the flavor really makes up for it. Everything on my plate was super crispy (save for my over-hard eggs), a welcome surprise as I'd prefer crunchy over soggy 'tatoes. The steak was hammered thin and also crispy-fried; it was the crunchiest chicken-fried steak I've ever had haha Service was decent as well, though slow. We waited longer than usual for our food, and our drinks were barely filled unless we flagged someone down. However, our waitresses were able to accommodate the restless kids, as well as our buddy who ran into an issue with the ads on the tables. Long story short: the tables at Kn'J provide ad space for local businesses, but their contract states that each table is only to advertise one business per industry; there were two competing tattoo shops advertised on the tables - breaching contract. Even after their exchange and our buddy's increasing agitation, the servers kept calm and assisted him with who to contact to fix the issue. Overall, a good place for breakfast and its novelties with all the old school cool really makes this diner unique. PS. They deliver! read more

Ok folks, I rarely write reviews and I'm regretful that I didn't take pictures, but I don't want to talk about the food. ( it was very very good though!) I don't know her name. She had a dark brown pony tail and glasses. She was the only server on. She's amazing. She greeted us right from the get-go and never missed a step after that. She took very good care of us including having our breakfast split on two plates ( still came beautifully presented). She filled our coffees and checked back with us throughout the meal. She was doing this for everyone in the restaurant. Locals and strangers were treated alike. I heard her ask the kitchen to "please keep the French toast hot while you poach the eggs since they're well". She coached the staff that it was "going to get busy" so " let's focus, get in the mindset, and be ready". She wasn't just a food server, she was a leader and a caretaker of anyone who crossed her path. She was kind and polite, yet steadfast and focused. I used to be a diner server. It got me through divorce and college in my late 30's to early 40's( am now an RT). Harrison Ford once said, it's not hard to be a food server, but it is to be a good one." I hope she is taking classes somewhere. Her potential is unlimited and I'll never forget the service & genuine care she provided to ALL the guests and staff alike. Haven't eaten here for probably about 9 years. Decided to give it a try again while out with my friend. We were seated quickly as it was a weekday morning and were able to order breakfast. The waitress was nice and friendly. Took about 4 bites of my food and that was enough. My hash browns were soggy. My avocado was brown and my burnt bacon inside of my omelette was disgusting. My friend said her food was no better and she said her food was tasteless. We left and went to Starbucks. I had high hopes and expectations for this place from our previous visit and other reviews we've seen but sadly we won't be going back there. read more
