An update to previous review. If you are hungry this is definitely the place to go. Visited here just over a year ago but because of the distance it hasn't become a "go to" place. I wish it was closer. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would ding them half a point for not having air conditioning. They have an electric fan as well as overhead fans. My son ordered the 3 egg polish sausage meal with hash browns, and a biscuits for $11.99 and added gravy to the biscuit for $1. He rated everything 5 stars. My husband ordered the patty melt with French fries for $11.99. The fries were hot and crispy. He gave 4 stars because he said the patty melt had too much cheese. (Is that possible?). I to ordered side dishes to try out different things. I ordered 1 pancake for $2.50, a side of hash browns for $5.49, and a side of 2 biscuits and gravy for $5.49. The pancake was large and was fantastic. The biscuits and gravy were humongous and a full meal by themselves. The biscuits,before being sliced, were about 4 inches high, light and fluffy, and delicious. They were covered with a good amount of gravy. I was only able to eat one half of one and brought the remaining 3 halves home. The gravy is not one full of sausage or bacon but it is tasty. The dining room has plenty of seating. There are specials and discounts on the walls in addition to their large menu. read more

I don't know how this place gets 5 star ratings! It is mediocre at best. The chicken fried steak was overcooked, the gravy was flavorless, the hash browns were typical frozen hash browns and the toast was stale. The eggs were supposed to be over easy but one was over hard. Not impressed. read more

Nice hole in the wall place that has great service and great prices! They have a lot of morning specials and daily specials with different options. I got the French toast with eggs and bacon/sausage. I love this place! It's a hidden gem and I'm glad they've survived the pandemic. Their food never disappoints and they have great portions. I've been coming here for years as they have excellent customer service. Their ambiance is very welcoming. It's a hole in the wall but you feel at home every time. Unfortunately I got fried chicken and it was raw . Im a chef so yes I know what raw chicken is. I had to go to work I didnt have time to return it or finish cooking it myself so I lost out on my money I was so looking forwards to this cute place but raw chicken is not okay . rene's Burger's Cafe is the definition of a cozy, hole-in-the-wall diner. From the moment we walked in, we felt like regulars--even though it was our first visit. We came for breakfast and ordered a variety of dishes. The youngest surprised us by opting for a grilled cheese and fries (classic kid move!). Of course, everyone had to try the fries, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and so satisfying. The pancakes stole the show--massive, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. I went for the three-cheese omelette with hash browns. The omelette had a great cheese pull, and the hash browns were cooked to golden, crispy perfection. Next time, I might ask them to jazz up the hash browns with some toppings, Waffle House-style! We're already planning to come back for lunch and dinner--can't wait to dive into the rest of their menu. This place is a gem! read more

I've been here several times with my family and it's always been perfect, until today. I don't know if they were short staffed, but the service was extremely slow. I invited my good friend here telling her how delicious the food was. I was disappointed and embarrassed. Where my friend loved her burger, the buns on my burger were dry with no dressing at all. I placed an order to go since it was Taco Tuesday, I'm pretty sure our waitress forgot about me. I ordered 2 servings of rice, only to be told that they ran out of Spanish rice., at 11am?? Not possible. They charged me for 1 serving of rice which was exactly 2 tablespoons. I really enjoy this place and hope that this was just an off day. Don't let this unassuming place, sandwiched between a lawn mower shop, closed down buffet, and Harbor Freight fool you into thinking this place doesn't churn out some AMAZING food! No joke, the BEST Meat Lover's Omelet I've ever stuffed in my face! It was salty, slightly spicy, CHEESY AF, and the right amount of "eggy" (meaning, the eggs weren't too runny or too rubbery). Man, just a delight to eat. This is a classic "I wish Yelp would give me a half star option" moment, cuz the hash browns were VERY greasy (oily). I didn't care for them at all. Went for mother's day at 2pm. 6 in our party. Most ordered hamburgers which were overcooked and tasteless. Fries were good. Only got 2 thin slices of avocados for $1. Then bills were incorrect. Charged for drinks we didn't order. Others charged for avocados didn't have. read more

Overall, incredible value on our entrée items! You should discover this place. There is some real atmosphere going on here, because this is a little strip mall hole-in-the-wall, and we have to support these Americana places and keep them going. I could hear the chef in the kitchen playing his favorite music and there was something quite charming about that. Here is a shot-out to Yelper Mike D. whose review resulted in our trying this place. Everything Is available all day long, so if you want meatloaf for breakfast and they've got it, then you can have it. That's what very nice waitress Irene told us (yes, her father named the place for her). She smiled, was patient with us, made good suggestions and generally got us through our first visit. Yes, I ordered fried chicken for breakfast :-). Had a fabulous crunch on it and I could not believe the price was so low at $8.99!!! I even liked the mixed vegetables on the side, and that's usually a totally boring item. Mr. Picky liked his Chicken Fried Steak (I could have done with a bit more seasoning and sausage in the gravy, but it was actually pretty decent). Due to this being the day following the holiday, they had not had a chance to bake all of their homemade desserts such as cobbler, so we were out of luck on that, bummer:-). This spot is a diamond in the rough, its got some great meals, damn good chicken fried steaks, I love the pancakes, waffles and sausage n egg breakfast. Driving through Palmdale and breakfast was needed. Irene's Burger Cafe popped up and my girlfriend and I saw it said best breakfast in Palmdale. I have nothing else from Palmdale to compare this place to, but that hook brought us into the warmest, hospitable and loving environment, with delicious well priced food coupled with the best service we've had in a long time. As fellow hospitality workers my girlfriend and I felt well taken care of and loved as we enjoyed an absolutely fire breakfast. Martha brought to that lil cafe a genuine love and created a homey experience for all to enjoy. Found this gem on Yelp, we're from San Diego and heading to the mountains for my daughters bday and we were looking for a bfast place this had great reviews so decided to take a chance. I had the vegetable soup and corn bread it was to die for as well! My husband is a country boy from Texas and this is by far the best chicken fried steak my husband has had in California. I've gotten food delivered to me from this place many times. It always comes warm and well boxed. I've had their double burger and it's delicious. I've had their ham and eggs there chicken fried steak and eggs. They also have a wonderful open faced turkey sandwich. Honestly I've ordered a lot and I've never gotten disappointed by anything.
