I have loved this place for the longest time! Everything here is so good, you really cannot go wrong. Usually I go in for breakfast (the biscuits and gravy are to die for), but this time I had a hankering for chili cheese fries. Lately, I've been on a mission to find the best chili cheese fries in town. Katz n Jammers did not fail! You can tell that they make their chili, not just open up a can and slop it on the fries. The café is super cute. It is not too big, so I can see this place getting packed during lunchtime. They serve the classic American style food. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. I ordered the Rosie the Riveter, because, of course I would. It was a tuna sandwich on sourdough. (you get to choose the bread) and I chose a side salad with the meal. I also ordered a cherry coke. The food and service here is top notch. They can get pretty crowded which can make it hard to get around if you are wheelchair bound but everybody including the customers are very helpful when needed. Try the shakes and malts. They are awesome. read more

Breakfast this Saturday morning ...so disappointing. The coffee tasted old and burned expericed slow service when we wanted a fresh cup. We asked a waitress other than ours to bring us. Fresh cup and another waitress just dunped them at the table no courtesy at all. No expression of kindness just yawning .The potatoes are not grilled oily deep fried no flavor and eggs Benedict not a good choice here .My eggs not poached well . Needed to ask for tomato slices for some flavor . THIS should be OFFERED as a choice . Over all service and food not at all what I expected AFTER RETURNINGBHERE AFTER 10 YEARS ... Also if the prices are this high acomadiate your customers and put a clean bathroom indoors . Keep is well stocked and cleaned . Not as much though I must say as their closest competitor. Biscuits and gravy were good. The cinnamon French toast was acceptable. The only issue I had is that some of the potatoes in my Bogart skillet were not fully cooked. All in all a solid 3.5 on the 5 scale. This place is off the beaten path but worth the hunt. We were kindly greeted as we walked in the door. The service was on point and so was the food. Our coffee cup was never empty and our food was out rather quickly. As we waited for the food the 50s and 60s music played, but was not overbearing, and we checked out the nostalgic art on the wall. The reason for the 4 stars is the food is a little pricey but it is good. My plate of 2 pancakes, sausages and eggs was $10.99 while the eggs benedict were $14.99. We will be back though. read more

Interior is a bit kitschy, but to each his own. In almost 4 decades of eating here I can only remember a single bad meal (the money for which was promptly refunded). Menu items are a bit pricey but you get lotsa food for your money. One of the few restaurants in the AV where, if you order WELL DONE hash browns, they are served well done ALL THE WAY THROUGH without being burned (or, as is the case with too many AV restaurants, burned on one side and almost raw on the other). read more

Everything tastes great. This is the best breakfast I've had in the AV so far. Both the hash browns and home fries were crispy and seasoned well. The polish sausage was flavorful with a nice note of spice. The Californian was tasty with every bite and all the ingredients were spread well throughout the omelette. Friendly service and they check in often to make sure you're still doing okay. Prices are fair because the portions are huge! (But they offer a few smaller plate options for those with wee appetites) Only downside is the joint was a little warm inside.
