A friend recommended Ivy in Keego, so I scheduled an appointment. Kim was amazing -- she had me try dry needling my first appointment. After that first appointment my pain went from a 9 to a 5. I can say today the pain is almost entirely gone, and Kim and the team are the reason. Before going to PT, I thought they were just gonna give me exercises. However, Kim was able to massage the painful areas to loosen up my muscles. After a couple appointments I started doing exercises which have taught me how to lift weights properly and how to use a foam roller (which I also have at home). I can't recommend this place enough. Unisource was the facility where Dr. G did my surgery and it was great. Dr. Guettler was such an amazing Orthopedic Surgeon. He walked me through the process and was very good with explaining what I needed and what to expect with my recovery. He also was great when it came to my post care follow up. I notified the front desk that since I would not be present at his appointment that I'd like to speak to the new physical therapist to get to know her and ask how the session went. I never received a phone call. After speaking to the therapist, my response was "Well, we don't give out patient information." I reminded her that I'm the patient's parent and he's 5 months old. Speaking to the office manager led to me being told that we missed three appointments (we missed two) and that we would no longer be able to come back. Not happy.

One of many things that make this business stand out is that the entire team works together and is in direct communication with each other through out the recovery process. When you walk in you are immediately enchanted by the indoor garden area which features several areas of seating including tables and benches. The sense of community is evident in the fact that they offer a restaurant, gym, library, theatre, recreation room, an onsite store and vocational room. I was also impressed by the fact that they help patients bring their creative passions to life by guiding them through the process of starting their own business. I even had the opportunity to check out one such passion in the form of tee shirts for people with brain injuries. This was only one of the many cool and unique features that is offered at Life Skills Village. Another unique program worth mentioning is one that kicks off on Thursdays in the months of March and April. It is called 'Thursday Night Social Events' and features nights of karaoke, billiards, trivia, crafts and a euchre tournament.
