A humble, mom-and-pop Indian spot that's a solid option for the area. The space is simple and welcoming, and the menu has a nice variety -- from biryani and curries to pakoras and classic appetizers. Everything we tried was fresh and satisfying, even if not especially bold or standout. For my personal taste, the dishes leaned milder than expected and lacked the spice and heat I usually look for, but flavors were still good overall. The staff was friendly and told us we could sit wherever. We had never been but they were welcoming. We asked for menu's just to see what our options were but all 3 of us decided on the lunch buffet. There were several options to choose from, including chicken, goat, and vegetable. The naan was fresh, as well as the other food. The mint chutney and yogurt dipping sauce was my favorite. The people with me liked the other 3 more. So, it was clean, staff was nice, and we all ate food we enjoyed. I was a little surprised at $20/person for lunch but that seems like the going rate for all you can eat in Lubbock. read more

Super authentic Indian food ...definitely not a fancy place .. but service and food is excellent

Was there for a Saturday buffet to try it out vs other Indian food in Lubbock. Buffet area was pretty clean and the wait staff was nice but the buffet was pretty small with a few options. Flavors were mid to good with fairly stale naan and decent entrees options. Lamb biryani, either chicken korma or chicken makhani, chicken curry, lamb curry, palek paneer, Baingan Bharta, and a couple other options., Price was fairly cheap but wasn't as good as other options in Lubbock. read more

Actually Kaveri Indian Cuisine. Had the buffet. They start the buffet at 11:00 to 2:30. We got here about 1pm. Small buffet. Don't know what we had but it was all good. I think the price was a little high but still, the food was good. I don't think that they refilled the food bins at all. You get what was left. Overall decent food. The chicken curry was tasty but needs just a bit more flavor and was still mild when ordered spicy. Masala was lacking flavor and also needs more of a kick when ordering spicy. The naan though isn't like naan at all. It was thick, heavy and chewy. Naan should be light and puffy. If they go more traditional, spice things up and then prepare the breads traditionally, this place will be closer to the other Indian in town. India Palace is still the top place in town read more

This is a new restaurant that came in where Royals Palace was. I will start by saying this is the best Indian food I have had- ever! Though we got the food to go, it was packaged great and got home warm. The handmade Samosas were flaky and flavorful. The Sambal soup was a flavor bomb. The butter chicken is lovely and velvety. Will NOT be back. The $17.99 for a very limited buffet was ridiculous! There was very little meat and nothing was hot. With tip for the two of us was $47. Don't know why I left a tip since it was totally a serve-yourself deal. The flavors were acceptable, but nothing like any Indian cuisine we have had in the past. Not much variation in taste. There is no "Indian" atmosphere at all. This was a total bust for us on a little trip away from home for some Christmas shopping. At least that went well. read more
