Phenomenal Indian food! We were blown away by this place. They were generous with protein portions and it was just so flavorful, will be back! Got chicken 65, samosa chaat and chicken tikka masala!

AMAZING. Better than Tikka Shack if you like REAL Indian food. The owner was there when we arrived, and we were immediately greeted. He offered us samples, told us about how the food is made FRESH DAILY, and told us that all meats are bought fresh/never frozen. The food was SO. GOOD. He also said that the menu changes every day except for the butter chicken which stays constant because of its popularity. I also loved the store inside! Please go here and give it a shot!

Ordered chicken tikka and baingan bharta to go--both very flavorful, not greasy, and great portion sizes. Will come back!

I've always driven passed this international market and told all my African friends about it, but the day after church that I decided to stop by to check things out was the day that I found my favourite little shop in Lubbock. Yes, I am telling you along for the journey was my Kenyan friend, she was so thrilled to find this store carries all her childhood snacks and tea that she used to enjoy back home. For myself, I found my absolute favourite snack that I've been searching for quite some time, deglet dates. Surprisingly enough they were distributed out of Southwest Houston. Also, I've found and bought a whole case of bad onions mixed with good onions for only $3. Originally, the owner wanted to trash them, but me being a gardener. I planted some, gave some to my friends, and cooked with the rest. They sell jackfruit whole, jackfruit in a can (green, bitter), and sweet jackfruit in a can (dessert). All kinds of spices, legumes, beans, and rice in bulk, and for the love of Indian snacks -- (great study snack) they have all kinds ranging from cookies to dried spicy chips. In the freezer section, you will find frozen chapati (which my friend was happy to find), naan, samosas, and vegetables, fish, and meats. In the refrigerated section, you will find dairy products, flavoured drinks, and etc. I'm a frequent shopper at this store. The owners (the lady) is the nicest, wow, incredibly welcoming every time I go, the consistency is amazing! I wish I could have gotten that from any Indian supermarket I've stepped into in Houston (nope, oddly enough was treated far worse). From the outside, it states that anyone can find, "East Asian, African, Persian, Mediterranean, Bangladesh, Middle East, and Pakistan" foods here, the selection is vast for a small store. Plantains, Jackfruit, Yucca, Onions, Okra, Eggplant, etc. They got it all and for a nice affordable price. Even open on Sundays. Check them out!

This store has a very friendly staff with a good variety of foods. They have a great deal of offering 6 pieces of large pita for $1.89.

It…read morewas just by chance I walked in for lunch today; they are next door to where I had just picked up some boots from Flint Boot & Hat they had repaired, it was noon, and I like Indian food. So, I walked in and was immediately and enthusiastically greeted and served water at my table of choice--because I was the only one there for Tuesday lunch. Which is a travesty! I ordered the Kashmiri Raita and the Murg Korma. Ok, time-out, let's address the elephant in the room: the "ambiance". This place has a very unique one. It is clean, and that is most important. But it's kind of dark and dingy. The furniture is mismatched and badly dated. The heavy drapes block out what little light comes in from the north-facing windows. And then what I came to learn was the former lunch buffet room is in a sunken area, dimly lit, the empty buffet just there like some relic from another time five years ago. I love it. No pretense. That's an ambiance all its own. I came here hoping to eat good food at a reasonable price and I left having eaten really, really good food at a reasonable price with great service. Not for the color scheme. I'd never had Raita before and I liked it a lot. It was actually a really good compliment to the just right for me medium spicy Korma. The chicken was tender, the rice was great, and the sauce was so good I scraped the dish to get the last out because I didn't order any naan. By that time one new diner had been seated. The meal with tax was $15.xx, I paid $20 with tip. I wish I had known about this place in better times, when there would have been a buffet, but I'm going to try to run the buffet the manual way and try everything on the menu. This place deserves more patrons. The food I had was very, very good. In an urban setting people would be lined up for this: authentic Indian food. Go support this place. I have absolutely loved Tikka Shack's butter masala for years. I went 2-3 times a week in college…read morejust to have that for lunch. It's a cool, modern atmosphere, & you hardly ever wait more than 10 minutes to receive your meal. The rest of the menu looks delicious too, but I crave & look so forward to the butter masala specifically that I can never bring myself to try anything else. My husband however is willing to try more, & has also never had a bad meal. The butter masala, tikka masala, biriyani, tandoori wings, and kabob bowl are great. There used to be a tikka sandwich that was also great, The 2 things that bother me enough to leave a 4 star review instead of 5 are these: 1. Why on earth are the Lubbock locations the ONLY two that do not adhere to all of the Tikka Tuesday deals? To receive this text, especially when the butter masala is our favorite, it's just frustrating: "Tikka Shack: Tikka Tuesday Today. Featuring our most Popular Butter Masala with Rice + Naan + Drink for $11. (Not available at Lubbock locations)" Before, the "not available at Lubbock locations" was not included, & we would consistently try to get the butter masala on tikka Tuesdays (like the text said you could get) in store & be told the text doesn't include Lubbock locations. So unfortunate, & frankly unfair. Visiting the Phoenix, AZ & Austin, TX locations on Tuesdays & being able to get Butter Masala on Tikka Tuesdays was a real treat. 2. There are often inconsistencies with the cooking. We always enjoy our meals. But, sometimes we agree it is INCREDIBLE, & other times it's just alright & not quite meeting the standard we know it can reach. This is true for both locations. Truly wish I could give 5 stars, but these 2 issues are frustrating.

Curry Bites is usually set up at the farmers market in Hobbs at Green Meadows Park…read more The owner clarified that they are usually set up under a canopy. They do not have a food truck or trailer. My chance finally came, but all the vendors at the farmers market got rained out on July 12, 2025. Since I followed them on Facebook I found out that they were still offering plates, but the pick up had been arranged at an alternative place of business. I was game! On that day, they had the following available: + paneer butter masala + lentil curry + samosas A plate of paneer butter masala was $15. I knew right away that this was going to be a very mild mildly spicy dish. It actually had a bit of sweetness to it, but my favorite part was how creamy it was. There were a few chunks of chicken served with Basmati rice. Some naan cut in half was also included. This was perfect for my appetite, but if I were absolutely famished, I would probably order another side dish or appetizer. The owner asked that I let her know how it was and if I wanted her to make me a special dish, she would be more than happy to do so. How awesome is that?! I definitely want to find out what white curry tastes like because I don't think I've ever had it not even after living in the LA area all that time. Then again, I might ask for something much spicier! RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: N/A | Price: 4
