Im a senor citizen anf one of the clerks made an unflattering remark about my age. I didnt go in to get insulted, i went in to shop.

I bought my wife a foreverus engagement ring. They had to size it down to fit. On the website you can only go to size 5.5. So we had to size it down a second time after it got to the store. When they size down your ring, they keep the extra gold that they take off and do not tell you, discount you nor credit you for that. I said that is theft and I would like the gold I purchased. They gave me the gold from the secondary size down. I had to remind them that there was more gold that I paid for. The MANAGER Maria acted like a teenage girl and made faces and kept saying that she has never been asked this before and she doesn't understand. She was very unpleasant and down right combative with me. I asked her to stop making faces at me and I didn't care who asked for their gold back or not. I wanted the gold I paid for. She flagged down some guy JACOB who was not a manager to help her. He told me that "you will get what we give you and that is it." I told him I will be leaving a review and he told me to bring it on. He told me that they don't want my business and if I come back I will not be welcome. I told him "you think I would come back?" He said we don't want your business. I said yes you do. I said "I won't be back." He said "We won't miss you." I said "What did you say?" And he said "have a nice day. If you don't leave we will call security." I said no you don't need to. Then I left. I called customer care and created a complaint ticket with a detailed description of this event. Waiting for a manager to call me and have been assured I will be allowed back in the store and my business is wanted. I was credited $50 for the inconvenience and Nina from customer care was 10/10 excellent. Horrible store manager. Jacob tried to provoke a fight with me and is a liability to your company. I hope you take this complaint seriously because I have lost all faith in this franchise. Originally using Kay's I had amazing help from Angelique. She helped me purchase a great ring exactly what I wanted. After purchasing Kay's canceled my order and did not notify me claimed there was a mistake with the loan I was approved for with them. I had to return to Kay's to reorder the ring, original price was different from the second order by almost 3K store was able to give discounts but did not match original. Store manager did not want to hold the original price which became a argument back and forth with several trips back to the store. Finally I received the engagement ring which was a little to big for my fiancé's finger. Upon returning the ring to get resized we were notified it would be about 2 weeks before the ring would be ready for pick up. Two and a half weeks later I got a call from Kay's saying the item was lost and or stolen in the mail that they had found out the week before but hadn't notified me. What was strange was my fiancé was in the store the week prior and they were rude to her when she asked if her ring was back and told her it was just sent out the day prior. After dealing with this whole headache we returned the ring and went to a different dealer. Even the return process was a pain I returned to the store to start the return process. The store manager could not start return the item due to lack of knowledge how. Return process took three days, on the third day I called the store to see what the status of the return was the store manager response was "I didn't return the item yet I figured you would change your mind." Glad my experience is done with Kay's and I won't be doing any in the future. If you do go to the store highly recommend having Angelique help you she does a amazing job and doesn't pressure you into anything very customer friendly. read more

Once in a blue moon do I ever experience perfect customer satisfaction, I am glad to say that coming to this location has made me feel that, TWICE. I have had the pleasure of working with Eduardo twice and I just got to say from the moment that he introduced himself I knew I was in the right hands. I spent a couple minutes looking over their selection of watches and was both impressed and intimated, there were soooo many to choose from and after about a couple of minutes I let Eduardo know what I was looking for; something simple but not boring, detailed but not too complicated, I wanted a little black, a little gold, a little bit of diamonds. Something that wasn't normally an everyday watch, but if I wanted to I could use it as an everyday watch. This was my list of demands and sure enough Eduardo came back with 3 watches that met my need. Somehow he was able to decipher exactly what I was looking for and find 3 perfect solutions. One of the watches was nice but a little pricier, the second watch was nice as well but upon trying it on it was too big for my wrist, the last watch fit like a glove, the second I put on that 3rd watch I knew deep inside that's the one I wanted. Eduardo then told me the reaction that I had to the 3rd one didn't compare to the other 2 and we both knew then which one was going to be for me. He knew which watch I really wanted instead of pushing me towards the more expensive one. I lived in Chico the first time I bought a watch for my partner and Eduardo helped me pick it 2 years ago. Since then I've been trying to buy something for my complicated self but no one in Napa has the expertise (and patience) for me. So I drove 2 and a half hours from Napa to Chico to get a watch from Eduardo, and quite frankly I would do it again. I salute this location and Eduardo from now on anytime I need a piece of jewelry or a friend is looking for something I will definitely, without a doubt in my mind, recommend Kay Jewelers in Chico and recommend everyone work with Eduardo! read more

My first visit to Kay Jewelers was to have a ring designed. I had the base ring and some stones I wanted added. Melanie & Nikki drew pictures, changed them several times until they came up with a design I liked. They created a shadow ring for the smaller stones and added a mount for the largest one. A short time after I picked up the finished product I noticed that one of the stones had fallen out. The ring was sent back to be repaired with no questions asked. That was almost two years ago. Since then we purchased three more rings and a pair of earrings. I took THE ring back in to had some sapphires added. Again Melanie spent quite a bit of time designing. The finished design is going to look marvelous. The sapphires are set sort of opposite the diamonds and she matched the stones by size. I look forward to picking it up. read more

Our whole experience here was an absolute train wreck. My fiancé and I came here to purchase our wedding rings. I don't like jewelry that much and I'm not a huge fan of diamonds so I wanted something a little different. The manager assured me that almost all of their rings were customizable. With that in mind, I pick out a ring with alternating stones and I asked if I could replace every other diamond with an emerald. 'Absolutely! Plus emeralds are less than diamonds so you'll even get a discount!' Is what I'm told. Well super! While all this is taking place, my fiancé is looking for his wedding band. He finds one he likes but they don't have it in his size. They tell us to order it and they'll resize it. Again, super. We place our order and are only given an ETA when I ask. They tell us it will be a few weeks. A few weeks go by and I don't hear anything from them so I give them a call. 'Oh no, it will be a few more weeks.' Okay... A few days go by and we receive a call from Kay's explaining that my fiancée's ring cannot be resized and they have to order the actual size. It will be a few weeks. W..t...f Then I call again to check the status and the manager tells me that he was mistaken and they can't swap out the diamonds for emeralds for a cheaper price. He tells me I have to keep the spare diamonds and pay extra for the emeralds. How it took that long to tell me this, I'll never know. I am beyond annoyed at this point, I don't even want to go through with the order. I keep saying we should cancel the order but my fiancé didn't want to look around anymore. The day comes when our rings arrive and they are nice for what they are, however, my wedding band has small gouges around the stones and the stones dulled in about a week of wear. I am not usually one to write reviews, and am very optimistic - however I feel this is necessary. They are very kind and helpful in the store, but the quality is terrible. It felt as though as soon as we paid, everything went downhill. Firstly, they got the ring to my fiancé a week later than they said they would. It was supposed to be sized to my finger, but was 2 entire sizes to big. We brought it back to be resized, (very friendly in store) and got it back sized incorrectly again. I decided not to care, wore it for 9 days, and a diamond fell out. Brought it back to the store, told them what was going on, and they sent it back to be put together. It came back perfect, and they did give us a slight discount on the wedding band. (Though that came incorrectly sized as well, and I had to send both rings to be resized together) I finally sent them in to be soldered together - it came back with a small diamond missing, and the rings put together unevenly. It was done so poorly, the ring hardly fits on my finger, and part of where they put the rings together is coming apart. It is now too late to have anything be done about it before our wedding - so we will be married w a ring that doesn't fit and is missing a diamond. I am upset because I feel they made promises to get the purchase, but then didn't follow through. Overall - very kind/helpful in store, but very poor quality. If you shop here, GET THE INSURANCE - you'll need it. read more

I deal with Nikki on a regular basis and she is always extremely helpful. She has saved us a lot of money, and always makes sure if we have to order it, it comes in correctly. We got a custom made wedding ring giving them exact specifications and they gave us a mold that looked exactly like what we expected and spent 1500 at the time that was alot of money but we felt it worth it...not only was it impossible to get updates it was extremely late and was incredibly wrong the problem was it was 3 days before the wedding when we had given them six months I was incredibly dissapointed and have made sure to tell everyone to go somewhere else friendly people but horrible service read more

We went by this store several times looking at a watch on clearance. Finally put money down so that we could put it on layaway. The decision to put it on layaway was based on the employee saying we could watch for additional sales and they would apply. Several times we called or went by to check on sales and employees told us the same. "Check back! Additional sales apply." Just this past week the manager said if you come in by the 7th you will get 25% plus an additional 15%. I almost forget to go in, drop what I'm doing to find out additional sales don't apply to clearance items! What?? The manager admits she made and error. She text her employees to make them aware of store policy. No offer to go ahead with any type of discount For all their verbal errors. I call corporate and they said the same. "Sorry. The sale person want you to buy their jewellery, so he or she would promise all those things, like resizing from a 7 to 3.5 has no problem in this short amount of time...........don't believe it. Went in here the day before thanksgiving to spend some serious money on jewelry for my girlfriend. They were extremely rude to me. They told me nothing was on sale and that they weren't going to have any sales during any of the holidays. I asked about Black Friday and I guess that pissed them off. They said that there's no way that a fine establishment of their caliber could have such a sale. The sales boy yells over to his manager to clarify and she says in the most condescending voice" what are we, a department store?" No lady you are just a dime a dozen chain mall store that rips people off and lies to them to make a sale. I walked out after telling them that I guess I'm just a lowly peasant not good enough to shop there. The interesting thing is the next day I went to their website and Black Friday sales were all over their front page. This place is filled with liars who will treat you horrible.
