I only gave this location 5 stars because of the sales associate Richie. He was extremely patient with us on our visit looking for an anniversary gift. I originally ordered a black diamond tennis bracelet online and the item imaged online is completely different from then the item that I received. We came to make the exchange and Richie really took care of us. Diana is also amazing to work with with other purchases. I ordered a necklace online for Christmas. By the middle of January the ion plating was peeling off. I submitted a return through their website as instructed. It was returned to me saying I missed a 30 day return window. I called to explain it was a gift and was told it did not matter. And they offered for me to buy a new one or buy another protection plan but would not exchange or refund. I had packages and receipts. I should have purchased a necklace from Walmart. They also told me the plating chipping off is inherent to the ion plating. Might be better to add this to the description of the product. Am I out hundreds no. But I returned it within 30 days of when it was opened. This was my first "reputable" purchase and it will be my last. read more

Wasn't happy with the customer service, we patiently waited for someone to help us since they were busy and once someone became available it was lady who said she has been in the industry for over 20 years. Didn't even want to help us, instead she choose to help a couple that arrived after us and just ignored us. I don't recommend going with Kay. TL;DR: Customer service is a challenge to even get an answer back from (20+ business days) and their jewelers are poor (had to send my ring out twice). I had Kay resize my ring and tighten a loose prong. They are a national chain, figured they would know what they are doing--I was wrong. I had to send my ring out twice because they didn't fix the loose prong properly the first time. I chalked that up to bad luck, but a couple months later my band cracked all the way through because they didn't resize my ring properly. Not only is my ring damaged now and I worry that I will have to get an entirely new setting, but I was belittled by Giselle who works in their Lehi location when I talked with her about it. I asked for a reimbursement for the work that was done improperly and expressed my concerns with sending it back to their jeweler. Her response was that I should trust their jeweler because she is willing to send her $20K ring to them--it shouldn't matter if my ring is $20 or $200K, it should be treated with the same level of care. I submitted a case with their customer service department and was then told that I should hear back in 7-10 business days. After following up with them multiple times I finally hear back 20+ business days later. Their customer service rep let me know the delay was because he was out on vacation for a week. All I wanted was to be reimbursed for work that was not done properly. I guess that was too much to ask of a national chain. read more

Gary was the absolute BEST! My fiance and I were looking for our wedding bands and Gary NAILED IT. I was having a hard time finding what I wanted to pair with my engagement ring, I was kind of all over the place trying to see if anything would stick. Gary was so patient, kind, and was really absorbing my reactions and comments until he knew exactly what I wanted. Literally told me to close my eyes, put the ring on, and BOOM. I found the one! My fiance was much easier and found his almost instantly in comparison to my search. I went back and forth on whether this should be a 2 star or a 3 star review. When I consider experiences at other Jewelers, including the others located in the Fashion Place mall, Kay Jewelers came up seriously lacking, especially when it comes to customer service. It will no doubt come as little surprise that my customer service (or lack of) experience is similar to that experienced by previous reviewers. Despite the store being almost empty, it seemed like us being there was a hassle since it took our sales associate away from chatting with the many other associates just standing around talking. Our sales assistant seemed more worried about making as much commission out of the deal as possible, and getting us out of the door as quickly as possible seemed his biggest priority rather than taking the time to let us properly look at the items. Every time we wanted to look at something in an adjacent case, we got the sigh and attitude, especially when (heaven forbid) said item might be less costly than the most pricey items we had looked at. Also, to need close to 20 days to get an item in the size I needed seems rather excessive to me, but it did come within the time frame promised so I will give them that. Bottom line though, while they got lucky and just happened to be the store that ended up having what I was looking for, and at a reasonable price, I'd still go to any of the other jewelers in Fashion Place before visiting Kay again. I've had nothing but great service from the others, and I seriously doubt I will be a repeat customer at a Kay Jewelers in the future. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have had an absolutely horrible experience with their repair/service on my wedding set. I bought it a year ago and they've had it more time than I have. They can't seem to get the sizing right, the solder has been messed up 4 separate times. They didn't line up the points on the bands to the main ring and permanently soldered them off centered, thought that's "good enough" and sent it back, multiple times. Stones have fallen out. Bands have snapped in half. Most recently, I requested that they size to a 5.5 and add beads so it doesn't spin around. It was sized to a 5.25, no beads. They made the bands into a wrap that lines up with the halo instead of the main rings band so they stick up off my finger. I asked that they solder it again after reshanking and repairing where it snapped, and that just didn't get done. They sent it back incomplete. It looks different and less dainty than it did before. I have been assured so many times that they'll get it fixed properly but that has yet to happen. I am beyond disappointed. I'll never buy anything here again. ETA, 8/13/20 My ring was sent back to be soldered and it looked HORRIBLE. There were spaces/holes between the bands and the solder was extremely messy. It wouldn't even go on my finger because they once again didn't size it to 5.5. read more

Buyer beware if you value your health. I had my ears pierced back in December. I went to donate plasma and the plasma center said they need a copy of the health department certificate to show sterility. The West Valley location where I had it done was closed due to Covid 19 so I went to the Fashion Place location in Murray. They couldn't help me so I did an online chat and they said they couldn't (wouldn't) help me. Then they disconnected the chat and I couldn't get back on to clarify. So they are doing piercing without being monitored by the health department? I should have just gone to one of those teenage shops like Claire's. It certainly would have been cheaper and apparently a lot safer. read more

The outlet store in Lehi took 3 weeks to re-size my engagement and wedding rings (double the time they said they'd need) and then decided not to re-size one of the rings as the jeweler thought it might ruin the ring which is fine, except they didn't think it was important to ever tell me until I showed up to pick my rings up. They called and even told me my rings were ready for pick up. BIG disappointment and had they told me they wouldn't re-size one, I would've taken my business elsewhere but they took that decision away from me. To top it all off they claim they'll send you plotting pictures of before and after their services to prove they put the same diamonds in. I called twice because I never got the pictures, was promised they'd send them and I never got them. I asked for them again when I picked my rings up and was promised a third time. Instead I got an email with generic pictures of my rings with an explanation that they couldn't find the original plotting pictures but that I should rest assured they're certain they're the same diamonds. read more

I walked into Kay jewelers today, looking for some information on adding stones to a ring I had, I was ignored when I first walked in. When I tried to grab the attention of an associate, they didn't acknowledge me at all, I was in the store for around 20 minutes, looking at existing rings and trying to talk with someone. I was ignored the whole time I was here. I may not look like I have money, but I was willing to pay for adding gemstones to an already existing ring, I've been planning this endeavor for months and wasn't even greeted. An associate here was very helpful during my experience, but unfortunately, management was very snarky. My fiancé and I know that our credit isn't great because he never opened a credit card or took a loan out and I had identity theft a couple years ago. We had the cash to buy my nice ring outright, but that's rarely the case in large purchases, so when management saw the rings we planned to buy, she was very nice. My diamond kept falling out, and every time we would bring it in they would want to charge us for something.. and if they didn't charge us we would have to wait 5+ months for it to come back. Some of the associates are nice (but not so knowledgeable) and the other associates are just there to make money. I should have left a review back when I purchased my wife's ring because than I would have given 5 stars! Purchased the ring from two VERY helpful and entertaining women I believe was Christin and the Harry Potter lady (I can't remember her real name but remember her saying that). They both paid so much attention to detail and actually listened to what I had in mind for the ring. They worked with my budget and I left with something much bigger than I ever thought I could get my now wife. We went in last week for our ring inspection and to get a gift for a family member and just wow.... The store was a complete mess. The girl behind the counter was obviously very overwhelmed and frustrated. Seemed like she was trying to only half way acknowledged us.. she inspected the ring and went back to what she was doing. Did not check to see if we needed anything else. An older gentleman was walking around the store talking on his cell phone, then approached us asking if he could help us... I didn't realize he worked there considering he was on his phone.. We let him show us a few things but the amount of pressure he puts on you to just buy anything even after we told him they wouldn't like it, was just unbelievable. I am always taking it in every 6 months to get it inspected and always have to send it in to get replated which totally sucks. Not the point today. After 3 weeks it was finally ready to be picked up. I went in to pick it up... worst customer service ever.... I think I was waiting for 20 min. Just to sign and pick it up.... there were 3 ladies there. One was on A conference call.... the other 2 were helping people.... finally when someone was going to help me... The other lady said I wasn't next so she had to go the other lady... holy heck. Finally the on lady that was on the conference call after 20 minutes came over to help. Only took less than 2 min...Didn't apologize for the wait or anything.... Terrible service!! Yrs ago I purchased the lifetime watch battery replacement plan & when I went in to get a battery replace, I was glared at & told to wait for 10 min. I had 2 watches. The glaring lady gave 1 watch to a guy to replace the battery. When I tried to tell her or anyone to give the 2nd watch to the man replacing the battery that had gotten all the tools out, I was ignored & rudely told to wait again. The worst mistake I made was buying my wedding band from Kay's. I spent $1,000 on a wedding band and 6 months after the wedding a stone fell out. There were only 11 stones on the band so it was a slightly larger stone too. I have been wearing it SIX months. I called in and they told me that it wasn't covered under their warranty because I hadn't had the ring inspected in the store in the last 6 months and that technically I had the ring longer than that because I purchased it a few months before the wedding and it doesn't matter if it was sitting in a box. So for my wedding band that already lost 1 stone they wouldn't even cover it. I would have to pay for a new diamond and to have it placed which would be $200-$300 which is INSANE. I took it to a local jewelry store and they were appalled. First off, they told me the retail value of my ring was $475... I paid $1,000. Then they told me that the STONE CRACKED and that is why it fell out. A diamond.. Cracked... How is that even possible?! They also said that all of the stones and the settings were a different size and that is why the value is so low. Kay's is a company that rips you off, doesn't tell you anything about the loop holes in their "guarantee" and is all around just a horrible company to buy from. The independent store I went to was nice enough to only charge me $200 and fixed all the prongs. So 6 months in, I have spent $1200 on a ring that should only retail for $475. Save yourself some hassle and disappointment and pay a little more to get a ring from a reputable company like James Allen. read more

My fiancé and I had a great experience at the Kay Jewelers up in Ogden. Therefore, when we moved to the Murray area we felt that to purchase additional bands before our wedding Kay at Fashion place would be a no-brainer. It is the biggest mistake we have ever made as far as purchasing anything let alone jewelry. It's not that we received bad customer service, we did not receive any customer service. If you are planning to ring shop PLEASE AVOID THIS LOCATION and give your time and business to someone who deserves it. In November we went into this location to purchase a wedding band, the promise date was at the end of the first week in December. After about a month passed with no word from anyone from the location, I began to call and inquire. My first call was answered by an old woman who had me on the phone for a half hour, kept asking my name, and could not locate my purchased product. She ended up taking my name and number and told me she would call me back. After over an hour of waiting, I called them back only to get a different salesperson who turned out to be the one we purchased the ring from, Shannon, she located the ring and told me I could pick it up later that day. I asked her what it was going to take for this not to happen to another customer and she said she would notify her manager. About fifteen minutes later, I got a call from yet another salesperson telling me that the ring was tarnished and needed to be taken in for repair. Tarnished?! We hadn't even seen it yet, this ring was just needed to be resized!! After waiting a week to cool off before I went into the location, I had received no further notification or urgency to come and pick up my product. My fiancé and I then went into the location and asked to pick up the ring and that we needed to speak with the manager. After waiting over 20 minutes while multiple people searched high and low for the ring, they finally found it. After waiting an additional 10 minutes and then very politely explained my experience to the manager. Her responses consisted of rude and ridiculous excuses trying to cover up her tracks. She said things like, "Well this is the busiest time of the year, I stay here from open to close, most jewelry places do not call customers, and that the receipt was not copied properly..." I calmly explained to her that none of these reasons were applicable to the situation. After taking a look at the ring, it was not even the one we had chosen and paid for! I work in customer service and have for many years. If you cannot promise something to a customer then don't! If you cannot fulfill your role as manager and provide decent customer service maybe you should let someone else step up to the position. THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS and unprofessional place of business I have ever come across and I would not give these people a moment of your time. read more
