Since moving to the new location on Zaragoza in early 2014, KB Realty has become very inconsistent and customer service has declined sharply. Along with previous issues of no response to maintenance orders placed, today I am dealing with an issue of late rent payment. Prior to today, I was told the late fees were added if payment was not received on the 6th of the month. I returned from a trip on the 5th of November at 11:00 pm and went to pay the rent the morning of the 6th. There was a new receptionist working who informed me I needed to return with the late fee or it would increase daily. Last month was a similar issue, I returned to town on the 3rd of Oct, paid on Monday the 6th and there was no issue with payment, although I did receive an eviction warning letter the next day. I am currently inquiring about this discrepancy. read more

There is too much to tell about this rental company so I'll just give a fair review. This was a bad experience overall and I wouldn't recommend using this company. I put up with a lot of nonsense with them. I'm being incredibly vague bc it would take a VERY long time to type every battle I had with this place, I cannot emphasize that enough. Long story short, I had a lot of issues with the house which I dealt with or waited on them to finally take action. They completely ripped me off on the deposit as well which bothered me the most. You need to stay far away from these people... they turned over a rental house to us without cleaning it or the yard and some serious needed repairs... like a shorted floor outlet, rodent nests, no ice maker... a long list. We sent several letters to ask that they make needed repairs but they would not respond. So we sent certified letters to them and to the owners in Houston but all were refused. We made the repairs ourselves, about $2000 worth!! At the end of the lease they had the gall to deduct cleaning and repair expenses from our deposit. If you can contact them by any means they will not respond or will lie about their intentions. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!! read more

By far the worst expierence I have had with a rental company. I would or wil not recommend KB Rentals to anyone as a property management company. They are only in the business for a paycheck and does nothing for you as the property owner. If you do go with them as a management company take it from me and don't expect much. Communication is a key and essential, and they do not return calls, emails or keep you informed as expected. Worst Realty place to deal with. BEWARE MILITARY. I have had nothing but issues with this company. I had to jump through hoops just for them to accept my monthly payments. I was in VA and my wife was moving there a few months ahead of me and it took me to drive there for them to get it fixed. I had even tried to mail a check to them and they said it had to be deposited which they where not doing. After that I was in one of there houses that they didn't fix, they said it was on the owner, well sorry I don't have a contract with them, I have one with KB. Once arriving I was pleasantly surprised that I was moved to another BN and was deploying in one month. They refused to take my 30 day notice until i had the orders which I din't not receive until today. This company is NOT MILITARY friendly and only see soldiers as a profit point. I had a rented a property with KB from July 2014 to July 2015, first off I did not like the idea of having my funds ACH from my bank account as that can always turn into a nightmare, but I went ahead and did it as my family loved the home. Well in April of 2015 I emailed the then rental department manager Christina Romero that I needed my ACH stopped, she submitted everything to the accounting department and was extremely helpful with that. Well here comes May 1st and bam they deduct the funds from my account, this happened again in June each time Christina walker over to the accounting department and was assured that everything was good. Well July came around and it being the last month of my lease and mind you I had already given my 1 month notice and had the last months rent payed from the start of my lease, I spoke again with Christina and she let me know that she had been advised that nothing would be taken out of my account. Well it happened again even though they had already assured everyone that it wouldn't. That is not all though August 1st which I am no longer in the property or in the same city and I left the property July 23rd I get charged again the rent I called again and no one from the accounting department would own up to anything, I eventually had my bank put a stop payment for this amount and company as this department is not competent enough to figure out how to fix the problem. I spoke with Christina again and let her know of the problem and that I had to pay $30 to my bank to have them initiate the stop payment, she immediately jumped on it and had that fee refunded directly to my account. Now the final straw that made me write this review is that according to Texas law they have 30 days to either refund my deposit/balance or provide a letter stating why it has not happened, I called last week and spoke to Christina again and she was told that I still had till the 28th of August to receive it even though I vacated the property on the 23rd of July. So not only did they try and change my date but they waited until yesterday the 20th to finally cut a check after having multiple calls from me. Christina went out of her way after having personal problems to correct this through the new person that has taken over her position and try to get it deposited into my account as I currently cannot receive mail at my new residence and she was denied the request. This shows a lot of what kind of person Christina is to go out of her way to correct other people's or departments incompetence or lack of customer service. I will insure that this is known in the communities of El Paso and Horizon City through social media as I am an admin in one of the groups that has over 8k members. Again I am thankful and appreciative in the help that Christina has giving me and the exceptional customer service. read more

KB Rentals rectified my issue and were not as bad as some may think. The only thing I would improve on their part is better record keeping and answering of the phones. Even staying after hours to return calls would change many peoples opinions. When something needed to be fixed they did it and they check on the property from time to time. Right after I left my updated review last week I had to email them about a work order they never followed up on. Mind you this is October 9th and I put the work order in back in June. Instead of replying about the work order they simply said "your rent is late, come in and make payment immediately" I knew our rent had been paid so I immediately took screenshots of my Web bill pay and my online banking ledger so they could see the check and that it had been cashed by them. Even after that they insisted that they could not find the payment. Finally, after several back and forth emails they admitted they had deposited it in the wrong account. Only after they figured that out would they acknowledge the work order I had initially written about. Also, if my rent was late (which it wasnt, but let's just say 'if') that means it was Oct 9th and nobody had bothered to contact us. If I could give them no stars I would. Military beware and avoid this rental company. They are not familiar with retirement orders and tried to keep us from getting out of our lease. They take forever to get repairs done and when you call you have to speak to four people and get four different answers. Defiantly the most unorganized and unprofessional rental / reality company I have come across. We too have to pay an extra month rent and opted to let them show the house . If I could give no stars I would! This place is horrible!!! We've been with them over a year now and have had trouble the entire time. Started out when they wouldn't send someone out to fix our swamp cooler, and I was 6 months pregnant. They eventually got it fixed 3 months later. During the process of the guy fixing it, he did something wrong and the swamp cooler leaked and we got a bunch of water damage in one of our rooms. They wouldn't fix it! It still hasn't been fixed. They try to blame us for the guys mistake. Then they've been trying to charge us double for our rent. We've called to fix it over and over again and they still charge double. And being out of work on maternity leave with no pay, being charged double is not okay. Also they still haven't sent someone out to service our heater. Needless to say this place really is a pain to deal with. You'd be much better off going with someone else....our lease is up soon and we are definitely getting out from under this horrible company! read more

DO NOT RENT FROM KB/RELIANT PROPERTY When moving here in 2015 we were told to beware of KB realty because they were not a good rental company. We disregarded the warning because we seemed to have a good agent who was very helpful...big mistake! I'm assuming the lady left and the people we have dealt with ever since NEVER seem to be on the same page! They called us to see about renewing our lease, we agreed to renew and I had to call three times because we never heard anything else, the third time the girl told me he homeowners wanted to sell. Why call and ask if you know that is the case??? The realtor who is taking over calls me and wanted to know were we going to sign a month to month and I informed he we were not because we were given to notice to move since they were selling, she informed me the homeowners were not tracking...way to go KB. It has been one thing after another, lack of communication, failure to keep up with paperwork, and unknowledgeable staff! They have really gotten one over on us with outrageous charges but companies such as KB realty/Reliant property management will do anything to keep your deposit! read more

Terrible. They are rude and never really answer your questions. Work orders take far too long. My hot water heater had a major leak. I went over a week without hot water and it took 3 or 4 days before the water was cleaned. In the winter it took 12 days of calling continuously to get the heater turned on. I gave 30 days notice with military orders in my final month of my lease. I was still required to pay an extra months rent. All the while the house isn't even listed for sale or rent. read more

This place simply sucks. They deserve no stars. I applied for a house and it's been almost a month and I still haven't gotten a response. I've called and they gave me some bs story about waiting for owner verification, and just to get an answer from that call took hours for someone to call me back. I called again the next week and the girl said someone would call me back. Of course it's been days and I have gotten no response. Worst experience ever. First they constantly blew us off to view a house I actually had to have another realtor show it to us even though they were the ones with the listing. I literally had a time set up with kb to see the house and the guy never showed. I called the them asking where he was and the lady who I talked to could barely speak english and then proceed to stand next to a bunch of barking dogs and set a car alarm off. I just hung up. But once we got the app in (using another realtor to put it in for us) it took them over a week and several phone calls. Now they can't seem to be able to take our rent out of our account for some reason. Im so tired of these people. They are awful never return calls never fix work orders. This is my first experience with a realty company and they don't deserve any stars they are truly that bad. My husband is in the military and received orders for Fort Bliss and we traveled a month in advance to secure a home. We found a home we liked with KB as the realtors. Contacted them and set up a viewing. Turned in all applicable paperwork left Texas with the expectation of picking up the keys upon our return and making our deposit to move right in. Long story short it didn't happen we returned and nothing was ready; if I could relay the headaches we went through you would never ever consider this company! We stayed in on base hotel with 3 kids racking up a bill for a month dealing with these people only for them to say the house was no longer available oh wait a minute yes is it. We should have went with someone else but by then kids were in school and we wanted a place so we could get settled and didn't want to waste another month trying to find a new place. Finally got into the home and then had problems with them coming out to fix things---several months passing even though you have to send in written dated requests for work orders and then even after calling them personally things still aren't fixed. This company is full of excuses and doesn't care about customer service or property management. Even the one helpful agent (Richard) we did receive couldn't make up for this company's horrible business ethic. Stay very far away! read more

I hired KB to manage a property I won on the east side of town. There aren't a lot of options for property management in EP and I thought they would actually manage the property and maintenance as they claimed they would. As a homeowner and someone who entered a contract with this company I started to get frustrated with them when they were late depositing payments, when they were impossible to reach by phone or email, and when I had to send friends and family to their office just to get a simple answer because they would never respond to my calls or emails. I found out about an issue with the renter bringing a pet into our home, which was against the lease, and when I called to ask about what was being done Jaime got on the phone and proceeded to lecture me and talk down to me like I have no right to question his company. If you are a property owner, stay far away from KB, They will take your money, lie to your face about your property, and laugh as they cash checks - while your home is being destroyed. read more

KB Realty is absolutely the worst rental company my husband and I have ever had the misfortune to work with. They are incredibly unprofessional and rude. We have sent in multiple work orders that go ignored. The owner of the house promised to paint the home and our realtor with the company also confirmed on several occasions that she would do so. It has been over 2 months and the work still has not been done and they are telling us now it could be another 2 or 3 months, with no guarantees. KB simply passes the buck and refuses to come to a resolution. They will not even let us pay for the repairs ourselves and take it out of the rent. The house was also filthy on our move-in day, and we were not able to move in for a week after what our lease stated. I wish we had just cut and run then. This has by far been the worst rental experience I have ever dealt with. When my husband called the manager Jaime Mora to discuss our concerns, he wouldn't let him speak, spoke over him and hung up on him. DO NOT work with this company! read more

Do not, I repeat do NOT rent your home with this company. To say they are haphazard with your investment is putting it nicely. Like another reviewer has said, they will charge an exorbitant amount for repairs in your home. I once received an invoice for $250 to maintain my swamp cooler and have it turned on for the summer. I have REFRIGERATED AIR in my home! When I brought this to their attention, they then said that it was for maintenance, wrong again!! I serviced the A/C immediately after the tenants moved in at a cost of $300, so what service did you provide? Come to find out, it was allegedly to change the air filters which costs less than $20, but you charge me $250. Another instance, the sliding closet door was off track and needed a $10 part, why was I charged $150! Or, when I was charge $150 to replaced a $30 faucet. This place is a piece of **** and does nothing but bleed the homeowner dry. Finally, when the tenants left, the front and backyard appeared to not have been cared for the ENTIRE time the tenant lived in the home, yet they received their security deposit in FULL. A large stain was left on the carpet which should have amounted to DAMAGE, but was told since they had a carpet cleaning receipt, what were they supposed to have done. You will be disappointed if you place your property in their care. It took WEEKS to even get in contact with someone about my property after the tenants left and find out what the status was and I am STILL waiting for them to return my call. After repeatedly asking for documents pertaining to the close out of the lease, they instead sent them to the realtor, you work for me, why are you sending the documents to the listing agent and not sending them to me. I could go on and on about their poor organization and management, the fact that you don't get the rent money until the 21st, and sometimes you EVEN have to call and ask where it is for them to send it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. They have cost me THOUSANDS with the maintenance, and more than 60 days of not being able to rent my house because it looked like trash and I didn't even know. It wasn't until my husband had to fly down there to see what was going on did we find out anything. Ultimately, we FIRED them. Good riddance. read more
