I recently attended a concert at the Miracle Theater in Inglewood to see my friend Kobie Dozier and…read morehis band perform, and I had a great experience! The theater itself is fantastic. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, and the sound quality is impeccable. The venue has a unique seating setup where you purchase tickets by section rather than by individual seat, and then choose your seats within that area. I actually loved that arrangement because it offered some flexibility while still keeping things organized. The staff and owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful in person, which made the experience even better. My only frustration was trying to contact the theater beforehand. Their phone recording instructs callers to leave a message, but the beep never comes, making it impossible to actually leave one. I also didn't receive a response to my email inquiry. If you have questions before an event, that can be a little irritating. That said, once you're there, the experience is wonderful. Great venue, great atmosphere, and excellent acoustics. I'd definitely return for another show!

A very memorable experience indeed. The event "Church" was led by Cory Henry who is )I believe - he…read moreis very modest indeed!) a 5 time Grammy winner. We had met him at another event in Beverly Hills a few weeks before, chatted with him (a really great guy as well as a great jazz musician). We signed up for the entire event from the soundcheck which was an amazing show (with the choir) in its own right - and there were relatively few people in the audience (in total I think the venue seats 228 people. BTW there is ample parking all around if you are willing to walk a block. The soul food buffet was very good, and even included a glass of wine, beer or soda. Would we return? Absolutely and

Be careful when you're walking down the ramp to get to your seats, especially if you are visually challenged. The parking is not so great located down the road near the railroad tracks which does not accommodate the whole theatre. Nearby parking is reserved for handicapped. The theatre is located in the middle of an industrial area. As far as a playhouse is concerned, it seems to be catered to mostly older people. Production of "Next to Normal" was a bit disappointing. Missing from the forces of instruments was an electric guitar, cello, and xylophone. I know this because I have a copy of the complete score as part of my studies. There were many botched lines and one of the actors messed up on his lyrics. Because of the lack of parking and because of where it is situated, I've given this location a one out of five stars. I will not be coming back due to rude clientele, and uncomfortable seats. There was an older grey haired woman who was constantly fidgeting and shuffling her feet during the performance seated two chairs to my left, with one extra chair separating us. While I was trying to read my program using a dimmed light that did not reflect towards her, she had the nerve to grab my hand telling me to stop. The chairs are not jogged so that your view is obscured my the person directly in front of you. At intermission I switched chairs with my husband. No one has the right to touch anyone else without permission. Save your money by not patronizing this theatre. It isn't worth it.

We enjoy their productions. The shows are top notch. The seats aren't the most comfortable but…read morethey're not the worst. They offer snacks for donations at intermission. You get to meet the cast after the shows. Lot parking available across the street. Be aware the lot is secured during the show. Otherwise look for street parking or take the Metro. You meet all types--old and young, black and asian, westside and eastside, rich and poor. I suddenly was reminded by a documentary on LA's Jazz Scene--a documentary on KCET that focused on The Blue Whale in Little Tokyo--that I still have not written a review about The World Stage. The Blue Whale is a bit more upscale and attracts a little yuppie boho crowd. There's some of that at The World Stage. The difference: At The World Stage, the tech bros show up with their barely-hatched dates to show how "woke" they are...and then they're gone after the first half hour. So don't worry if seating seems tight: Brad & Grace are soon to be out-y. There's a real community vibe. Older women who are clearly volunteers greet you, very politely. They're often in shimmering gowns. And you can sense how much they care about the business. They'll offer you food and libations for a small donation. There's also some kind of more substantial fare offered by an independent vendor in the smoking patio. I really like sitting next to some of the oldtimers--some in their sixties and seventies. I'm not that young...am pushing fifty. But I'm at that stage in life when I identify with people who are their for true loves that are not instagrammable. These guys know what they're about. And you can tell they are really thinking about how to spend their entertainment dollars. The World Stage doesn't come super-cheap. And it's not a fancy venue...though it is in the heart of one of the great black neighborhoods--Leimert Park--and it's much cheaper than a few drinks at a yuppie bar with noisy muzak. I go here every few months. Wish there were more venues like this. And if you caught the KCET documentary, which focused entirely on the yuppie Blue Whale: This place is better. And you won't have to pay for parking!

No drink minimum, no parking fee, only $20 per ticket -- an absolute bargain! And to see world class musicians in such a small venue with a super chill vibe is amazing!!! 10 points for the sound man who does an OUTSTANDING job!!!

The…read moretheatre itself provides a very intimate audience experience and every seat feels close to the action, which made the performance feel really immersive. The staff was friendly and organized, and getting in and seated was smooth even with a full house. The Center Theatre Group hooked us up with a pair of second row tickets for this play when we were at the LA Times Festival of Books, and we purchased an additional pair for friends to join us for the show. Guac was a hilarious, creative, and heartfelt production. What amazed me was how the star of the show managed to pull off such a spectacular performance as a one-man band. His energy combined with the excellent crowd work on the audience made the whole night feel surreal. Without giving away too much of the plot, I can tell you that this play is very much on the nose for today's social climate and the timing couldn't be more perfect with upcoming elections. You can tell this theatre really supports bold, original productions instead of just playing it safe. Also appreciated how clean and well-maintained the venue was, plus there are plenty of good spots nearby to grab food or drinks before the show, like ramen at Ippudo or Mensho Tokyo. They also validate parking for an additional two hours if you park at City Hall, so I recommend taking advantage of this. The recommended attire is more on the casual side compared to Broadway shows you'd catch at Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, so leave the suits at home and pack a comfy outfit instead. Already looking forward to coming back for another production!

PRO-TIP: You can get free parking at City Hall across the street and they validate up to 3 hours…read more(1st hour is free). The ticket validation scanner is in the lobby area and staff are there to assist if need be. Came here to see the "Enormous Crocodile" with some other fellow adults. Probably one of the few groups here without children. For some strange reason, after purchasing my tickets, it said to pick them up from the box office, but that was no issue and we were able to get physical tickets ASAP, around 20 minutes before the musical. There's concession where you can get snacks (must finish before entering the theater) or drinks (can bring inside). They had some specials for the season and some specials for the showing, which we got both of. I really liked the non-alcoholic Swamp Water, very refreshing and fruity and the little palm tree umbrella was very cute and on theme. My bro and his friend shared the Croc Cooler, which was made with vodka, blue curacao, orange juice and bitters, and sprite and a stick of cinnamon. Very strong, had to water this down with the Swamp Water, but overall, definitely much more affordable than the spirits at the Ahmanson theater. There's also complimentary water. For the families there, there was a table for coloring and craft making, a wall to share your artwork, a nook of books recommended by the Croc, and a small table selling merchandise. For concession and merch, it was cashless only! It's a smaller theater but it uses the space pretty well, some seats to the side, and some balcony seats too. The stage is at ground level meaning you can walk in from the first row of seats (some parents had to reel in their toddlers from doing this). We were in the 3rd row from the front and the sound was nice and crisp, lighting was great, and it was nice from where we were at to see the details in the set, costume, and puppetry. Overall a fun experience and a good theater.
