I visited here over the weekend for a dance competition and everything was overall pretty nice. There's plenty of parking and when you walk in the lobby is nice and bright. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of stalls and the backstage area was well maintained. The theater itself has lots of seating and is quite comfortable, however, the seating rows are very long with no breaks, so basically if you're sitting in middle seats, you have to walk past so many people on either side of you to try to get out. This would be a nightmare if there was an emergency or anything. read more

Attended the Kapena concert on Father's Day here. We drove far, but it was worth it. Plenty of parking, safe community, inside the restrooms were clean and there were many stalls and the Performing Arts Center itself was huge. Saw Kapena and Faiva and it was a great time, especially for the older folks because the seats were comfy and the concert was down by 7 p.m. I would visit again if there were another event of interest. read more

The RBPAC is the place to go to see a concert or play and even the ballet. They also have speaker series. Parking is free--amazing--and there is plenty of it right in their lot in front to the theater. The staff is great and will assist you with seating. There is not a bad seat in the house. They have beverages you can buy in the lobby, but you can't take them in with you. The place is always so clean. My grandson and I are probably here once every other month. They have the best kid's musicals and even bands that you have always wanted to see but missed them. The prices for tickets are fair. You will love this place and there are some nice dinning options nearby. Have fun. read more

It's a lovely venue for musicals. I've seen my sister and niece in Beauty and the Beast and my sister in Mary Poppins (twice) here. The theater itself is fairly large, but the stage is wide, and because you enter from the side rather than from the back of the theater, it feels very intimate. The acoustics are great as well. There's a large lobby, but it's set up more as an overflow area than a true lobby, which ideally should be designed to encourage people to move people in and out of the theater while also keeping them from blocking the bathrooms. Unfortunately, the bathrooms can be difficult to get to during intermission, and most people tend to congregate here. There are also restrooms in the theater's tiny patio, but you need to exit the theater in the opposite direction from how you came in (to the right as you're facing the stage), but very few people seem to know about these bathrooms, so there's a pro tip for you. They also tend to sell snacks outside, or at least they did with the company my sister and niece performed with. I don't think snacks are allowed in the theater itself, which is why they sell them outside rather than in the lobby. One of the most charming parts of all three shows I've seen here are when the cast comes out into the lobby after the show in full costume. My sister played three different parts in the three shows I've seen her in, and each required an English accent. It was so adorable seeing all the little kids come up to her in the lobby and have her mildly scold or compliment them in her goofy but accurate (to my American ear) cockney. They were amazed in a magical way because most other cast members, while still in costume, weren't still in character. It was almost as if my sister were a living, breathing teapot/maid/bird woman. The parking lot is pretty large, but if you get here late, you might have to park in the overflow parking, which is technically in a different parking lot even though you can access it without getting back onto the street. My advice is to arrive early so that you don't have to deal with that. read more

I have been a lifelong Brian Mcknight fan. I vividly remember listening to his music as a young man pretty religiously. I think I may have stolen his CD from my mother and a new fan was not! Fast-forward 30 years, I get a message from my wife asking if I would like go go see Mr. Mcknight live. Knowing how much I hate crowds of people and the hassle of getting into and out of LA triggers my anxiety. When she told me where he'd be playing, I knew it would be a small venue and being in my 40's going to see a 90's, 00's R&B/pop star, I knew the crowd would be +\- 10 years of my age range which was perfect no rowdy crowds of young knuckleheads looking to cause trouble... Just a mature group of fans! Getting inside was fast and easy. Plenty of parking, 2 or 3 ways into the parking lot, no crazy lines to get inside. We arrived 20-30 min before the show was to start and literally got our tickets scanned, took a bathroom break and went in to sit in our seats. The auditorium is large, yet small enough to feel intimate. We sat around 10 or 12 rows back on the isle next to the door so it was great seating. We were close enough to the stage to see every detail which was amazing. The bathrooms were and facility was clean. I have zero complaints and if it wasn't so far away, is gladly attend another event there. read more

This is a great theater, and the shows they put in are just phenomenal! I was blown away when I went to see Matilda here a few months ago. The place is clean, including the bathrooms, and the seats are perfect! We had orchestra seats and had a great view of everything. The concessions are a little expensive, and bought in bulk from Costco, which isn't a big deal, but no food allowed in the theater, so finish yo your snacks before curtain call! Pro tip: there are always discount codes you can use when purchasing your tickets, so keep a lookout! Unfortunately we found out after we bought the tickets, but very useful to know for future purchases. read more

While attending a children's dance recital yesterday (6/7/25), numerous members of the staff were rude and aggressive with their requests. Instead of asking guests to do something or refrain from doing something, multiple male staff members instead opted to scornfully bark orders at children and parents. This was the experience for many of the families in attendance. I would not recommend going back. read more

We came to the so cal slack key festival. At intermission, vendors were selling things. I bought some Hawaiian snacks to take home (they were completely sealed). Man at the door would not let me return to my seat because they don't allow food in. I ended up giving it to another staff working the door. WHY ALLOW PEOPLE TO BUY THINGS IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO MAKE THEM THROW THEM OUT. Also, the audio feedback was terrible most of the concert. read more

I used to love this place. It is close to my home and they have some great performances, be it semi professional or professional. The staff was nice. I won't be going back unless some sort of public announcement is made about a child I saw verbally abused by a staff member on October, 2, 2021. I mean, what staff member makes fun of anyway, their job it to take care of the venue and more importantly its patrons, if they want to have patrons. After the first break, an older woman with a clearly special needs child were walking from their lobby to the door. The place was not crowded so it was easy to hear a dressed in uniform staff member yell at this little boy. The staff was saying go to the right for doors. He started to go to the left and his, I assume, grandmother said to him something like some to me Sweetie. The staff member yelled for all to hear "YOUR OTHER RIGHT" to this child. That is what happened. Who does that to anyone. That phrase is only used to make fun of someone and he went after a child who was clearly being attended by this woman taking care of him and calling to him to come to her, and she was not loud, the little boy was but a few feet from her. I saw the little boy start to cry saying something about a mean man and he had to leave. The woman tried to come him and took him to his seat. I could see this because the lights were one, the second act had yet to start. I could not hear what she was saying to him but she was hugging him and he could not stop crying. She had to take him out of the theater. Even if this was a neuro-typical child, what employee talks to any patron like that. What an asshole. He ruined this little boys night, maybe a special night with his granny, I don't know, but I know it was ruined. I am done!! read more

That's is what happens when you go to a concert at Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center and it's a total blast from the past from the 90s. My friends and I attended the All-4-One and Color Me Badd concert last night here and had a blast! Parking was nice and easy and we got in pretty quickly. The venue was spacious and clean. Both the lighting and sound system were great. We had excellent seats (front orchestra, row C1) so we had a total clear view of the stage and the performers. I now have the songs Heaven, All for Love and I Swear on repeat...lol, thanks for taking me back to the memories of school dances ,Redondo Beach Performing Arts! So "heaven oh heaven" "I do it all for love" and "I swear" I'll be be back here cuz "word up" this place is "da bomb." ;). read more

I came to the Redondo Performing Arts Center for a work meeting and not for a play or concert, so I am not sure what the stage and sound would be like for those. There is free parking outside (it is outdoor parking, not covered). As I was running a little late, the parking spots right outside of the Center was all full. I kept following the lines of car and I got worried that I would not be able to find parking. But, no worries at all, they also use another lot a little further away. I parked in the lot and the walk to the Center in about 5 minutes. The actual Center is actually on the smaller side. There is just one level. It was separated by 2 sections, the orchestra and rear. Since I came in late, I sat in the rear section and I had no problem seeing everything that was going on the stage. The sound was also great so I can hear everything. The seats reminded me of the Ahmanson. It is tiered slightly and the seats were spaced so that if someone taller sat in front of you, it wouldn't be as bad. The seats were a little tight, so if you need to go to the restroom, it would be a little hard. I suggest getting an aisle seat or seat closer to the aisle if you need to move about during a performance. (The first few rows of the rear sections has aisles on both sides.). If there is ever a play, concert, etc. here, I would love to come here. When I walked back after my meeting, I noticed that there was a long line for the cars that were parked in the lots near the Center. I had no problem going out. If you don't mind the few minute walk, I would suggest parking the lots that is a little further away. It will be easier to get out. read more

Attended Redondo Beach Ballet performance of 'Through The Pages' - 7pm show; a grandparent treat for a 4 year old "budding" ballerina. This venue is within walking distance of the child's home, so she felt super safe. We concur with all the good feels mentioned in other reviews re bathroom accessibility and parking. Also, the aisles of seating are nice and wide so you don't have to stand to let someone pass by. We were in second row, center seats and we could see the whole stage clearly. Not looking up at the performers and no problems seeing all the action onstage. We feel so lucky to have this little gem of a venue in our backyard. read more

went to a concert last night to see club nouveau and confunction. first of all at starting time they had us standing in the lobby for sound check! finally after 20 min. they let us go in and sit down. concert didn't start on time they had a comedian that was great! but we came to hear music. so after the comedian did his set. club nouveau finally came out. all that mic checking didn't work! they clearly sabotaged club nouveau! way too many mic's had to be passed around! alot of feed back. totally unacceptable! club nouveau fought it out. still perfomed great! now when confunction came out no problems. probably because club nouveau had issues with one of the sound guys. confunction was great also. but we'll never go back to the redondo beach performance arts center!!!!! straight garbage!!! read more

I've lived in RB for over 10 years but just visited this venue for the first time today. I attended the Luna Fest there and was impressed with the theater. Parking was a breeze- even with a carnival taking over most of the lot! They had attendants and signs directing cars. Parking is always free. One of the best things about this place is that the seats are roomy, there's plenty of leg room, and they're not uncomfortable. You can easily move down an aisle without making people stand up for you. The only downside is that there are no cup holders, but that deters people from bringing in drinks and keeps the place clean. Bathrooms are pretty big and clean as well. read more

I've been reaching out to the venue to schedule a tour for a booking the last couple of weeks by phone and email but haven't heard back. Today I took the drive to see if I could find the person in charge and a very helpful maintenance worker directed me to Jack Meyer the venue manager. I walked into the room and greeted everyone there only to be ignored by Jack. I waited to talk to him and after he was done with the person he was having a conversation with he proceeded to look at me not say a word and walk out. I left and emailed him directly again and I've yet to get a response. It's unfortunate that employees like him don't take pride in the business they work for and cheat residents of the city of Redondo Beach an opportunity for cultural events that brings hundreds of people and resources to the city. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to experience this type of unprofessional behavior. read more

Man I wish I could give them a zero! So many reasons this place stinks! This has to be the WORST venue I've ever been to in my life! One of the reasons is the the security guards, ushers or whatever they are called are some of the rudest people I've ever met. I'm here for a dance competition and have been coming to this center for years. Every single time I see confrontations with parents and the security here. So many rules I don't understand. Don't walk here, don't stand here. One older lady yelled at my teenage daughter because she only had one dance shoe on. Then I said I'm sorry she just needs to check in with her teacher. They go on stage in 10 mins. She wouldn't let us in the auditorium to check in AND got in my face in front of the kids and parents. My daughter who is 15 started crying saying the lady scared her. I asked for the supervisor and she said she was the supervisor. It appears their "security" team are only trained in yelling at people while they try and enforce their ridiculous rules. NO common sense!!!!!! ‍ I also need to address the dressing room situation or the lack of rooms to hold a competition. Young girls are changing in hallways and behind walls. They have a very small room to change but I have no idea what they were thinking when this place was designed. If the venue continues hosting dance competitions they need to find a solution to the dressing room problem. Not a comfortable place to be. read more

We got Discount Tickets for the Concert @ Goldstar. The Parking here is FREE. Raydio started off the evening with a few of their classic hits including A Woman Needs Love Just Like You Do, You Can't Change That. Then The Delfonics took the Stage to sing Ready or Not, Break Your Promise, When You Get Right Down to It, LA LA LA Means I Love You, & The 1970 Smash Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time. Then the Temprees took the Stage with Love Can Be So Wonderful, I'm for You, You for Me & other hits. Bloodstone sang You're Still a Yoing Man & Take to the Sky on a Natural High, & You & Me Go Along Way Back. Switch was the last act that performed & sang some of their biggest hits including I Call Your Name. A Fun Night. All of the proceeds benefited GEMs, a program that helps high-performing low-income students go to private high schools and receive scholarship funding. I was here recently for a performance from the Los Angeles Ballet and consider this to be a fine venue for such an event. Upon arrival, there was some light traffic but plenty of parking*, none of it too far from the doors. Will-call was labeled clearly, and I received my tickets in no time. The circular lobby was spacious, had a cool water display on one side, and there was a ton of stalls in the ladies lounge which always helps. For me, the seats were great. I was on the farther side but closer to the front, and I'd rather be there then centered in the back rows. Ushers were great in helping one find their way, and since this was a ballet, majority of people made an effort to dress up and be cordial. A couple of fools near me were on their phones briefly until I cleared my throat and stared them down, and two people behind me during Act II couldn't shut up for some reason, but otherwise, I'd like to think most people enjoyed themselves and were able to focus on a romantic ballet for a little more than an hour without Instagram or Facebook. But this isn't the fault of Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, it's society. Redondo Beach is quite out of my way, but I would be willing to return for another event here. *Extreme bonus: FREE parking! read more

This was a fantastic small venue! I went and saw Avenue Q here and really enjoyed the theater. The box office staff was very kind and even changed my ticket times because of a living social error. There was fast service and I was really impressed with their level of customer service. I loved the small venue appeal because not only was it quaint, but virtually every seat in the house would have been a good seat. The concession stand was reasonably priced and again, everyone was super friendly. The theater was virtually spotless and the staff was friendly, and we were always greeted with a smile. The only thing holding me back from five stars was the seats were a little uncomfortable. Overall, the show was fantastic. They had the original set from Avenue Q Broadway and the sound was amazing. The quality of actors this theater brings are also top notch. If you get a chance, see a show here because you will not be disappointed. read more

Came here to see Shrek the Musical on a Sunday afternoon. I like that you don't have to go through all the Hollywood traffic you would usually get when going to the Pantages. It was easy to get here. There was plenty of parking, and there were no lines to get in. No lines at will call either. The seats are all okay here so any ticket you buy should be fine. Here's a place you drive by everyday, without ever really knowing what it is, and why you should stop in. Sure there's a flashing neon sign on the corner of Aviation Blvd, and Manhattan Beach Blvd that depicts upcoming shows and events...but then again...do you really pay attention to it? Most likely not... Until something like the healthy, positive, and happier Blue Zones Project decides to hold their holiday gathering there, and you realize there is a great open space auditorium, with nice décor, and plenty of parking just around the corner from you. Perks of the RB Performing Arts Center are many...dance recitals, pageants, band concerts, theatre productions, and speaker series live shows year 'round. It's not Staples Center or the Nokia Theatre for sure, and prices reflect that home-town small production fit. However, the staff works hard, the lighting and sound are good, and you wouldn't remember you were in a small budget arts center unless you really tried hard to do so. Another perk is the Tues/Thurs food truck alley they put on in the parking lot, with an eclectic mix of some of the best food trucks from around LA. Just the right sized venue or a holiday performance of the Nutcracker by Los Angeles Ballet Theater. This was the perfect end to the 2015 holiday season. The actual matinee was pretty packed, too. Our seats were perfect: Row J, seats 31-34 - right smack in the middle, ten rows from stage front - you could see everything! I am a firm believer in supporting the arts and this was a great way to introduce a little 6 year old ballerina to a full length ballet. Kudos too to the parent next to me who had a three year old who actually sat through the entire performance without any fuss! read more

The Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center is less than five minutes from my house so it is the perfect venue especially with my young children. I have taken them to see the Nutcracker at Christmas and more recently Mary Poppins. The theater is very large and very nicely set up. There is a concession area in the lobby and a nice large restroom as well as a family restroom. Parking is free and plentiful in the outdoor lot and there are always people there to guide you to the best spot. Tickets are picked up at will call. The performing arts center does not sell tickets directly but through different vendors. We used Goldstar last time - as that is what came up when I googled for Mary Poppins tickets and getting the tickets at will call was super easy. Unfortunately we got to the show about 5 minutes after it had started so while we were able to go in, we were not able to go to our designated seats. Instead of being in the more expensive orchestra seats that I had specifically purchased, we had to sit in the terrace until intermission. I realize that it was my fault for being late, but it still bothered me. After the intermission, we went to our designated seats which were AMAZING! Up front in Row B right behind the orchestra - so essentially the first row. Definitely be on time if you have good seats even more so! read more
