I'm a watch person. These days it's hard to find a place that will replace your watch batteries without buying a watch from them. I discovered this place just down the street from where I lived. They have been in business for quite some time. I went in right before closing and asked if they replaces batteries which they did. It took them just a few minutes to get them done and all for less than $10. While waiting I browsed over the watches they have in their store. They carry two of my favorites, Citizen and Seiko brand. They have a few other brands which I'm not too familiar with along with some vintage watches too. Other items I noticed in store are custom made earrings sitting on top of counter. Overall service was great! I would recommend this family-owned business if you are in the market for new watches. read more

I received great service from the associates here. I needed a battery for a watch along with a new glass installed. The watch came with acrylic glass which was heavily scuffed and I was curious if a sapphire glass replacement was possible. They were able to find a glass replacement and installed it at a very reasonable price. I also brought in a second watch (Seiko) with several "mods" I had purchased. They installed them all without issue. I will continue to bring my watches here for service from here on out. read more

do not use k c watch they only know how to change batteries . they 1st charged me 265.00 for full service on a 940 they had it for 5 mo. boy i have been waiting for this one . i sent it to a hamilton guy in MN. he just called . said all they did was replace the main spring . they did not even clean it . all the jewels were all gummed up and it had a bad jewel cap bearing and two other jewels needed replaced . he cleaned it replaced all 3 jewels retime and reg. and fright to send back for a 100 bucks . it only took 2days for him to fix . i did get money back from kc watch . my point , how many times have they half ass done this in the past to others and got away with it . send you pocket watches out for repair . know one around here knows any thing about a pocket watch . there i also a good watch guy Ten. read more

This place, and especially the people, are AMAZING! I've taken my Movado watch there for cleaning and battery change several times and have always been pleased with the service. However, this time, they knocked it out of the park! I took a music box in that my father had given me 40+ years ago because it had stopped working properly. So I have a pocket watch that I received as a groomsmen's gift from a friend years ago. It's one of my favorite things I own, but a few months ago something broke in it, and when you went to wind it up, the hands just spun around and around instead. I took it to this place and they estimated it would probably be a 15 dollar repair if the problem was what the mechanic thought it was. Picked it up, good as new. About 3 months later it started doing it again. I called and checked what they're warranty is on repairs, and it was a year. So I dropped it off again, and now I'm back in business. Let me stress the fact that I am not a mechanical watch-smith. They could have told me it was a different part that failed this time (It's a 65 dollar watch, so this is entirely plausible), but they didn't. They got me up and ticking again at no charge. One of my nicer, more expensive watches recently broke on the band part. The band was a ceramic material which isn't as easy to just " replace." I did a quick search on Yelp to find a watch fixer and KC Watch came up as highly recommended. I took my watch in, they informed me they would have to order more of the ceramic pieces, I replied I had 2 at home that had been removed when I had it fitted. They told me to come back with them and we would see if it would work. A week or so later I head back with my two pieces, which come to find out is not enough to replace the part that was broken. But that's ok! KC watch to the rescue, they told me it would be 2-3 weeks and they would have it fixed. I knew my favorite watch was in good hands. About 2 weeks later they called me and told me my watch was ready. I headed back to pick it up, they had it ready and it works great! Price was awesome, I have a feeling if I would have taken it elsewhere the price would have been triple. The staff was always friendly and helpful when I visited and the store seems to have steady flow of patrons. Parking is easy-they are closed Sunday ( I think) and Mondays. What a great place! I took in 6 watches there, all needing new batteries. I've spent around $25/battery at mall kiosks and had been dreading getting new batteries. Then I went to KC watch- got new batteries for all 6 watches for $7 per watch! This place was incredibly busy- when I walked in on a weekday afternoon, there was a line of about 5 people. I dropped off my 6 watches and it took about an hour. There were no extra or hidden fees for designer watches like many other places have charged me in the past. I have used KC Watch for replacing batteries and have had a crystal replaced on one of my watches. Excellent customer service and reasonable prices. I recently had a battery replaced and within a couple of days noticed condensation inside my watch which then ultimately stopped running. I had paid cash and did not keep my receipt (so I was worried!). I took the watch back and asked if there was any correlation between the recent replacement and the watch issue. They took the watch in and found that a gasket had kinked while replacing the back plate. They dried the watch out and replaced the gasket without charge and turned it around in less than 2 days. They must have remembered me or trusted the story because they never asked for my missing receipt! Great people to do business with! read more

If you are going to buy a watch, this probably isn't the place for you. It has a selection, but it's pretty small and basic. If you're not looking for anything fancy, it could be a place to stop by and look, but it's by no means a full blown watch store. However, it has a surprisingly cool selection of KU, K-State and Mizzou watches - mens and womens, wrist and pocket. I ended up here because I needed a new watch battery on one of my watches. I actually have two that I need new batteries for, but decided to just bring one until I knew how quick it was and the price. I walked in and the older lady behind the counter immediately jumped up to help. She grabbed the watch, headed back, and emerged barely 5 minutes later with a fully functioning, ticking watch which she had reset to the correct date and time. The total, with tax, was less than $8. I will certainly bring in my other watch when I have time (ahahahaha...sorry), and I need a new watch band so I'm sure I will get it there too. My dad went to Batteries Plus first to get the battery replaced on his Skagen watch, and they told him it would be $25. He came back home disappointed, and I offered to take his watch and mine to KC Watch as it had been recommended to me by the watch/jewelry counter at Nordstrom. I'm so glad I took both our watches here because they charged only $7 for each watch. They were fast and friendly, and I would definitely recommend them to everyone.
