Great outdoor winery for a gathering with friends! We (group of 3) each tried one their featured slushes, blue raspberry, sangria, and a twist of blue razz and lemonade. If you are a sweet drink type of person these slushes are for you! They also had a little silo outside as a concession area! We got the giant pretzel with cheese and it was delicious and big enough for all three of us to munch on while there! Everybody that was working were amazing and very nice! I was so thrilled to find so many yard games! There was PLENTY to do for everyone there. Cornhole, yard dice, a golf game, large chess board, and even more was available. I only went with one friend but there were multiple groups there and I would absolutely consider this place for my next gathering. The bartender was so nice. She let us have some samples to find what we wanted to purchase. Most places make you pay a ton just for samples, and I think we bought more because she gave us each three samples for free. We appreciated that a lot. We came for the Mutts and Moscato event, had some sangria and Moscato, and stayed for 3 hours enjoying the many shaded spots, other dogs, and all the games available. The owner of KC Wine (Kirk) is the biggest sweetheart!! My friends and I were left stranded by Uber/Lyft and the owner offered to give us a ride!! Honestly, this was the nicest thing a business owner has ever done for me. We had been trying to get an Uber/Lyft by closing time (trying for an hour!), but were unsuccessful. The owner ended up driving us 25 minutes to a friends house. This is a huge deal to me. Not only was I going to come back because I enjoy KC Wine, but the helpfulness he provided was HUGE! Made a visit to KC Wine Co with friends during Lemoncello weekend. The winery is tucked into the outskirts of Johnson County Kansas. The venue has a gravel parking lot a short distance from the cidery building. Following the recent rainstorms, the main walkways were muddy and challenging to navigate. The cidery building is an impressive structure. A spacious open room with a stationary bar on one end, and rows of tables and benches covering the rest of the room. Ideal for small or large groups for social drinking. This adults-only business makes their own wine and sells it for consumption there in the cidery. They offer a nice variety of wines. We got a flight of wine, which included riesling, chardonnay, sunflower red, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and a sample of their cider in a souvenir glass. The wine flights were reasonable at $8 each with a glass to keep. The sole purpose of the trip was to try the seasonal slushy. For the volume you get, the price was also reasonable. Unfortunately, I was a disappointed the Lemoncello slushies were so muted in flavor. I was anticipating a bold lemon to suckerpunch my mouth. The red sangria slushy was heavenly! The venue offers blended mixes of their wine slushies for a blush or combo flavor option. A nice way to create a new flavor. Also available were meat and cheese trays with crackers and other snacks. The building has a few step and repeat photo areas inside. Perfect for the social media users wanting a photo keepsake from the trip. The winery property has acres for walking among the vines and taking in nature while enjoying their product. A cool place, but a little too far from our Northland area to enjoy often. Would probably return following a drying weather pattern to be able to see more of the area. read more

My daughter and I had a good time here for the Smoke N Seoul Food Truck and Spiked Jolly Rancher Slushes Event. The only drawback was the 2 large German Shepherds that roamed with their owner, whom I presumed to be invested in the events there. The dogs were not bothersome at all and were very well mannered. One came and literally placed his head on my arm and just stared me in the eyes. I understood exactly what he was saying because yes, that chicken sandwich was really that good and if he could've said just one word aloud it would've been "PLEEEAAASEEE!!!" I personally do NOT fancy having pets of any sort around me when I'm eating and especially not in a space or event that wasn't advertised as dog friendly. My daughter and I are the type to enjoy each other's company as if no one else is around us so we made the best of it. This is a really late review, but we went here for an Easter egg hunt. It was free and the place is nice and roomy. Parking isn't that great, but what does one expect when in a vineyard? There was music which is good, but the food truck offerings left a lot to be desired. The egg hunt itself was done every hour, and it's a bit underwhelming. I was expecting like a kid's egg hunt, but you go at your own leisure. We were allowed so many plastic eggs we can pick and they have numbers on them. You go to a line and hand in your number to see if you won anything. Consolation prizes were bite sized chocolates. I did not try the alcoholic offerings either, but friends say it was great with the slushies. This place is out of the way and kind of hard to find, but it's cute and offers many different events. We attended a rehearsal dinner and a wedding here this past July. We were on the Cidery side. It had a long hall with long picnic tables, a bar and dancing space. There's a patio off the back and a beautiful lawn between it and the pond. This is where the ceremony was set up. Everything was rustic and beautiful! There was also a HUGE amount of space outdoors to explore. There's not much shade, so it can get pretty hot out there in the sun. But my son loved checking everything out. There were stationary cars and trains built from wood, slides, some weird horse swings made from tires, structures made from large tires and a little house with a chalk board and plenty of chalk! Honestly, I spent most of the wedding out there with him running around. What a great venue! read more

We went for date night and had an amazing time! The drinks were great! I had the two slushees, my husband had the hard cider. The atmosphere was very good! We had some of their pizza, which for a pan pizza is very over priced at $12! We didn't even realize there was a food truck because the food truck looked more like a party bus! We then ordered from the food truck and it was well worth the price for what we had and it was good! I do think they should put signs that say where the food options are located. Went today for awhile and it was great! A guy helped us, maybe the owner, and he was really nice. Got to sample the wine slushies, so delicious!! We mixed them together and it was fantastic! It was peach bellini and red sangria!! Yummy!! The meat/cheese and cracker platter was good too!! Wasn't very busy, think it was because there was a festival going on the venue somewhat next door. Can be a bit of a drive, but lots of fun events advertised on Facebook. We finally went for a combo Smoke 'n Seoul food truck and dog friendly event. The Smoke 'n Seoul food truck is not advisable, and the one missing star. Both my wife and I felt very sick after eating, and she got sick there. The food had a distinctive soap taste. However, KC wine supplied drinks and they were great. We tried the slushees as it was a very hot June day. The peach, watermelon, and pineapple all with 5% alcohol content. I enjoyed the peach, and K liked the watermelon. The pineapple was the weakest, but still fine. The property is beautiful, and our bulldog enjoyed roaming the vineyard. About an hour outside of KC, this little vineyard is a cutie patootie! With a big grass courtyard over looking a lake and a big barn of sorts, this is just adorable. Just generally speaking, I wouldn't call them serious wine makers or drinkers but the wine slushies are fun and the tasting is affordable. This place is a super addition to Johnson County! Wonderful to have a destination social outing without having to travel downtown. We have been out here before and enjoyed the slushies, the music and the views! My only negative comment is related to the experience indoors. We brought out of town guests to show off this gem. We came out for a little fun and relaxation. Being herded and rushed at the entry without an explanation of offerings or expectations, it felt like a Walmart experience without the friendly greeter. It set the tone and although the musician was good, we left promptly. I hope some alterations or attention to this might be addressed for a better experience when we return. read more

Despite online menus and reviews here saying they serve flatbread and charcuterie in addition to their wines, and despite menus posted all around their physical location saying the same, they did not serve either of those things. They had only hummus and pita or a food truck. The food truck served only burgers, fries, and pork tenderloin sandwiches. It's a long way to drive to discover almost no food selection. That said, the burger I had was good. I just would've preferred to eat almost anything else. The wine is expensive. I paid $8 for a glass of white wine that was smaller than most restaurant pours for $6. The scenery was nice, and there were plenty of places to sit outside. Zero places to sit inside and no heaters or fire pits so bring a jacket. I had an okay time. The people who work there were nice. But all things considered, I won't be going back. read more

So I just don't get all the great reviews of this place. Sure, the ambiance is truly beautiful, and as I drove 30 minutes to check KC Wine out I had really high expectations, I just didn't expect the wine to be so bad. The wine slushees were okay but nothing that had such a great flavor I'd come back for. As for the wine, honestly I hate to say I found all of it to be barely palatable. I was in a group of 7 and none of us thought it was good. To top it off we were there for Harry Potter trivia and the trivia was BAD. Pro tip: if you offer trivia make sure the person doing the trivia knows how to do it and knows at least a little about the subject or you know... how to play trivia. Finally, we ordered the cheese and meat plate and the server literally pulled out a full block of cheese and a wrapped summer sausage with a plate and utensils. Can you imagine sitting under a tent in Olathe drinking bad wine and cutting your own cheese and salami while it's 90 degrees listening to bad trivia? Now you can. It wasn't great. Bottom line: I want to like this place so bad, but unless they work out some kinks and improve the wine I don't think I'll be back. read more

KC Wine Co. is such a cute little winery. My parents are visiting from out of town so I took then for 80's music bingo. I love the antique look of the building. It's so neat and organized. We had a great time playing bingo while enjoying a refreshing wine slushie. Bingo is free to play, but you'll definitely spend enough on drinks while you're there. I don't live super close, so every time I am there I like to take some wine home with me. The Sunflower Red is delicious! I love the different types of bingo they have each weekend. I do wish I was able to go out there more often. They also have a variety of events that happen each weekend, such as adult coloring weekend or smores weekend. read more

I was lucky enough to attend a retreat at this beautiful vineyard today. What an awesome place! Walking along the vines was incredibly relaxing, the lake with enormous chairs was beautiful, and the building they have for events is gorgeous. Visited this adorable barn deco winery today with some lady friends for a weekend event and we had a blast! So scenic in the country side! Wines were on the sweet side but with a $5 tasting for 5 I was pleasantly surprised. The had both sweet and dry reds and whites so something for everyone. Slushes are a great idea but I'm sadly just not a sugary lovin lady. Cider in house was also a hit at our table. Snacks are massive! $10 for a full tub of humus and Pita chips, $10 for chips and salsa or $17 for meat and cheese ... could feed a table of 4 +. A weekend food truck would be a nice touch. Decided to visit KC Wine while in town as a fun activity for the weekend during their "S'more wine & music weekend". The indoor area where they serve wine and offer tastings was absolutely beautiful, well decorated and welcoming. The woman who helped serve us our tasting was very sweet and helpful but seemed overwhelmed as they looked understaffed. The wines themselves were not good and I mean... not good. Thankfully We were able to fine one that we did like. If you are going to this winery I'd recommend the Cayuga White. While at the bar area we were able to speak to the owners daughter, she seemed very inconvenienced and annoyed to talk to us- Great first impression of the management team. We were curious about the space as they have advertisements for weddings, bridal showers and events right when you enter. Her response was that they had never had public weddings there (besides her own) and wasn't able to give us much information about what they could accommodate. After grabbing our bottle of wine we grabbed a picnic table outside. After about 20 minutes we were approached by the same woman and told they were closing in 15 minutes- okay fair enough. I would recommend telling your guests this, especially if close to closing time, as they are purchasing a bottle of wine and uncorking to enjoy onsite. A second woman approached us 5 minutes later and frankly said they were closing as she grabbed all our glasses to throw away- even with my glass half full. All great business practices... If you have a firm close time- I'd just advise the people you are selling to 30 minutes prior rather than chase them out. read more

I absolutely adore this location! My husband and I have been several times this summer. On the weekends they have a complimentary artist/band playing music outside. It is truly a place for all ages. I have seen people bring their families. In addition, outside they have jumbo sized gaming options and other outdoorsy games such as bags and washers. Besides the beautiful location, the wine slushes are my favorite! My husband is not a wine connoisseur, but he really enjoys the slushes as well. Often there is a small snack available for guests. I think this is the perfect touch. When people drink, they get hungry! I have purchased several items from their "gift" section. I recently tried the KC Wine dip recipes and the do it yourself slushes. The attendants are very nice. We have always had exceptional service. In fact, you'll often see the owners helping and bartending as well as their adorable german shepard mingling with guests. At times the service is kind of slow, but bare with them it's BUSY! I had been wanting to go here after seeing all the popularity in their Facebook events. It's a pretty property out away from the city. It was really busy, so it took an hour to do my wine tasting because they would pour one wine, walk away and serve other people, come back to you, repeat. There were pros and cons to that, since I didn't feel rushed to get through my tasting but I couldn't always get my next pour when I was ready. It's $8 for 5 wines and you get to keep the glass, pretty good deal! After we did the tasting we switched to slushies, they were good but pretty sweet. I mixed the peach Bellini and the sangria slushies. The peach Bellini was my favorite. They had live music outside, which was great! It wasn't too loud to the point that you couldn't enjoy your own conversation, but it was loud enough to enjoy if you really wanted to focus on it. Most of the outdoor seating is plastic picnic tables, but they had cool large chairs and a giant swing over by a pond. It's a drive for me, but all in all I definitely see myself returning! read more

Absolutely love this place!! We have had the chance to visit three times and each time is better than the last. This place has a classy modern country style and it is always a great time. There's indoor and outdoor seating, with yard games outside and plenty of entertainment. We have always visited on Saturdays and each time there has been a live performer and seasonal treats. Over the summer there were free s'mores for customers and on our most recent visit free kettle corn; there has also been a different food truck each time with food for purchase. This place goes all out for their customers and it shows in their loyal following! Yesterday we chose to do a flight/tasting, followed by their apple cider slush -- everything was perfect!! A winery in Kansas is the best thing possible! Pretty far drive if you are not from Olathe but well worth it. Wine, slushies, outdoor games, live music, what more could you want? They host events as I saw a bridal shower happening on the patio. They were not offering flights because of how busy they were (not necessarily a bad thing). I've heard a lot about KC Wine company over the years and was pretty excited to try it out-my first time at a vineyard. This vineyard is located past Olathe, so it's a little bit of a drive if you're closer to the KC metro, but it's a nice little escape from the city. Upon arrival, there are plenty of seating areas outdoors and a large vineyard to explore. I went on the weekend, so there was musical entertainment and it was pretty busy. The line moved quickly to get our drinks, even though it was really long and the staff were very efficient. The drink I got was pretty good, had a little bit of a syrupy taste to it, but I still liked it. My friends seemed to like their drinks as well, but some had the same comments that I did. The slushes are refreshing for a hot day and it is a fun place to meet up with friends for drinks. If you're concerned about COVID, this is probably not the place for you. I was surprised to see so many people in such tight spaces and masks were not really enforced due to it mostly being outdoor seating. I think this is more of personal responsibility as the vineyard does have policies in place, but I know it can be hard to enforce them. Other than that, we had a great time and the slushes are fun to try while wandering around the vineyard. This place is absolutely adorable and the staff is always so nice. The space is your typical wine feel and it's perfect for a date night or girls night out. We took our empty bottle to the bar and asked where they wanted us to recycle the empty bottle. The host informed me that they DON'T RECYCLE! How disappointing?! Used to love this place pre-covid. Went back this weekend and they have changed their wine service in some way which caused a super long line. We waited about 10 minutes and didn't get anywhere, and then left. I would estimate 45 mi. - 1 hour if we had waited. I am not sure what the change to their service has been but it's created not only an extremely long wait time, but also a public health issue as it forces their throngs of unmasked guests to pack together to wait for wine. Bottom line, if you enjoy obtaining drinks in a timely manner and not partaking in mass gatherings during a pandemic, avoid this place until they figure it out. read more

KC Wine is in a beautiful space, located WAY south Olathe. The building is gorgeous (I could see some nice events planned here) and the outside has a lot of space for hanging out or playing games on nice days. The wine is terrific as well. There are options for sweet drinkers and dry alike...along with those magical wine slushies. There are several days throughout the year where they do special events, like bringing your dog to the winery or cool pairings (Tippins pie was a favorite of mine). The downside is they are very against having anyone under 21 on the property, so it's not family friendly like most breweries/wineries around. read more
