The Deck Awning Company is great...when they want your money. Impossible when you need service…read more We hired The Deck Awning Company to install a Sonesta retractable awning for nearly $5,000. At the time, they were responsive, polite, and easy to work with which, in hindsight, makes sense because they were trying to secure a $5,000 job. Less than three years later, one of the awning arms developed a problem, and that's when the experience completely changed. For over three months, I've been trying to get them to come out and look at the awning. Instead of service, I've gotten multiple excuses, delays, and the general runaround. Phone calls and email requests frustratingly lead nowhere, and they have consistently shown zero urgency or accountability now that the job is apparently no longer profitable. To make matters worse, because it's a Sonesta awning, many other companies won't work on repairs unless they were the original installer (I would know, I was forced to contact many, to no avail). That effectively leaves you stuck with the company that installed it and in this case, a company that apparently has no interest in servicing its own work once the initial installation is completed. This business seems very happy to take thousands of dollars for installation, but when it comes to supporting their own product afterward, they magically disappear. Avoid this company entirely. If you're considering an awning installation, take your business to a company that actually stands behind its work and values customers beyond only the initial payment.

I called this company, after a google search. I am a new customer. Nick picked up the phone. I…read moretold him the issue, he thought David the technician may be able to help walk me through some troubleshooting. David then walked me through the entire process. I was able to replace the batteries in sensor, and the issue is fixed. I will of course use them in the future. Not only for their expertise, but for their honest and professional advice. They could have easily said: " we need to come out and fix it" I would have done that. Integrity and great communication is the cornerstone of any company. The Deck and Awning Company's mantra. How refreshing. Particularly because the previous day I was totally scammed by a vent cleaning service who charged me double than market rate, but not telling me it would be more until they were at my house. Total scam. So - my experience today with Nick and Dave, restored my faith in human nature!!! I so very highly recommend them. Don't look ANY further. Rhonda J

TL;DR The quality of the materials and installation is very good, but after being told that our…read moreaccount was settled, they keep calling asking for more money and never send an invoice or any other documentation. We contracted Long Fence to do an install of a new fence and a repair of an old one. The installation and repair went smoothly and we are happy with the results. Dealing with the company after words, however, has been a huge pain. Upon completion of the job, the installers didn't provide us with an invoice, but instead gave us four envelopes with hand written amounts on them and nothing else. They didn't speak English very well, so we weren't able to get an explanation on what we were supposed to do with these so we called the Long Fence office to settle up the remainder of what was owed after our deposit. They gave us an amount to pay and we payed over the phone. This amount plus the deposit didn't add up to the quote that they gave us, but they said that our bill was all settled up, so rock on. About two weeks later I started receiving calls saying that we owed more money. I stated that we were told that our account was settled, but the person on the phone said that we still owed more. I asked for an invoice showing how much we owed (I'm not in the habit of paying large sums of money to someone over the phone just because they said so). They said that they'd get an invoice to us and ended the call. To this date, I've never received an invoice. For the last six weeks, the same person calls asking for payment, and every time I ask for an invoice detailing the original amount, the amount we've already payed, and the balance remaining. I even ask them if they have my correct email address, and they say that they do and end the call. We've called the Long Fence office multiple times trying to resolve this, and are constantly told that someone will look into it. The only return contact we receive is the same person asking for payment every week.

They set up a time for the estimate and showed up on time, but never gave me the quote. No email,…read moreno response, and when I called in to ask about it they did not have any information. The rude lady said to call someone named "Z" (that's what he goes by) and hung up on me. If that's how you treat potential customers, I don't care to be one.
