Pretty rude considering we were the only 2 people there with an appointment and her friend walked in and "wanted to squeeze her in". Also, she was on the phone the entire time. Paid no attention to detail. My eyebrows look horrible ... and she hurt me a lot. No wonder why it's cash only. Waste of money here. After my previous go to eyebrow girl over threaded my eyebrows multiple times, I decided to search on yelp for a new spot. I came upon KD's and booked an appointment after I read all the amazing reviews. When I arrived to the appointment, Kanwal was so welcoming and polite. Right off the bat she noticed how thin and uneven my eyebrows were. She cleaned them up, suggested I use castor oil and come back in a month for another clean up. Such a great place to get your eyebrows done!! I know they have other services, I've only gotten my eyebrows done there so far. Kanwal is super sweet and gives you tips on how to make your eyebrows thicker. I was super nervous at first because I never wanted to get my eyebrows threaded because I knew they would hurt, but she made it go by super quick! I don't even know why I was worrying in the first place, because it didn't really hurt! She is a great conversationalist so you won't be thinking of the pain most of the time. My first time at this salon for brow and lip threading. Kanwal is super nice and caring. She examined my eyebrows closely after I pointed out that my eyebrows are uneven and gave me detailed advice on how to care for them. Her threading technique hurts less than other places I've been to, and my brows and lip is less red afterward too! Total of $20, cash only-but there's a CVS nearby to get cash back. I've read other reviews on her charging $15 for eyebrows threading so that makes $5 for lip threading. It's a bit pricier than other salons I've been to, but for the cleanliness of the salon and her service and how nice the staff is, I'd stick around with her. read more

The first time I came to Kanwal was in November 2016 and I have been coming back since. I was at first skeptical about threading, but Kanwal assured me that it was not painful as it seems and she would be quick yet thorough. I was so surprised how painless it was and how my eyebrows were looking better than ever. Kanwal told me that the people who were previously doing my eyebrows were making them a little uneven and for me to let my eyebrows grow out so she can do a "better job" next time. I went to KD since I was in the area and needed a last-minute eyebrow threading. I told her I just wanted a cleanup and not to thin them out too much. She followed this well, so that's all good. It was OK to get an appointment, though as other Yelpers have noted the place is inside and on the top floor of another salon, no signs. Just walk in to the other salon at that address and take the stairs up. However it was painful! I was in tears throughout the 10min threading session. I think she did not use enough of the white powder stuff, and did not let me stretch the skin until she was halfway through cleaning up each eyebrow. At the end I saw I had 4-5 cuts under one eyebrow and 2-3 under the other - painful and took a couple days to heal. Her comment? "You have sensitive skin, you should have stretched it tighter". Really? If you had only told me that earlier! She's a very nice lady though and created a good eyebrow shape, but I'll go back to Natasha at Spool Me Rotten in Mountain View. read more

I came In here with my cousins as I was visiting for the weekend. My cousins both got their eyebrows done she did a good job on them I had asked to do a full face but wanted to clean off the makeup I chad on, she worked on one of them while I did that, I then was told that she had to hurry because she had a facial at 5:30 and two girls were already waiting. I told her If she was going to be rushed then it was okay I would pass and she said okay come in tomorrow I told her that I would be back home later that night so I wouldn't be able to drive up another hour just for it. She then said fine sit down I'll do it. I felt her working fast and somewhat irritated.. She stopped to then give the girls waiting a heads up that she was doing a full face. They said they were ok she worked on the other side of my face a lot faster by then I felt as if she wasn't going to give me the results I wanted. After she was done I was given a mirror to take a look at myself and so I did but with her lighting everything looked good I was content with what I saw. Later on in the evening we went out for some bowling. The bathroom sink lighting there revealed the work I really received as the lighting was facing straight down into the sink. I ended up with what I am calling a zebra finish on my cheeks (mostly on the right side) and on my chin.. Where she was being super rushed. I ended up with hair under my bottom lip and along my jaw line.. I seriously feel so horrible and now I am looking for another place at home where I can find someone to just fix the problem, mind you I already handed over almost $50 for a full face Service I didn't receive.. I wasn't offered any lotion or aloe Vera (as most places do) to help with any redness or irritation. I felt my face burning and I really needed something to cool it off. To end my frustration on a good note, she did a great job on my cousins eyebrows and on mine she cleaned them up very well, this being the three stars.. I would probably not come back though. Also, I tried taking pictures on my phone but the camera doesn't pick up the peach fuzz left on my cheeks or on my chin. read more

Started coming to KD two months ago to get my eyebrows done - she's my go-to gal now! KD really takes her time with you and makes sure you are happy with the shape. Her place is upstairs from Parlor 151, a hairstyling salon. You just walk in through the front door of Parlor 151 and take the stairs up to her place. It's well-lit, clean, and KD is super friendly and sweet. I highly recommend her! I used to go to a different place in Burlingame but often felt like it was a rush job over there. I just moved from San Mateo to the North Bay and I miss KD! I haven't gotten my eyebrows threaded since I moved, and I think I may have to go back to San Mateo to get my eyebrows done by KD. When I first went, I didn't really tell her what to do, and I was really upset because I felt like she made my eyebrows too thin. But looking back at old pictures of me, she fixed my eyebrows so much and I'm glad I went to KD in the first place.
