I've been getting lash extensions from Chini every 3 weeks for over a year now! She's always very sweet and nice and accommodating. I am really picky so I like that Chini is very detailed and flawless with her application and has a gentle touch. I have crazy, unruly eyelashes! Some are super curly and they go in different directions! But she always glues the extensions perfectly so that they all curl and lay the same way....super talented! I've referred 2-3 of my friends and have gotten countless compliments. I like a more natural look so she has used shorter extensions, which still are noticable but don't look like a drag queen. It's totally worth the money. I never wear mascara or eyeliner so I don't have to rub the crap out of my lashes trying to get liner and mascara off every night. It also takes me a lot less time getting ready in the morning. Without makeup, my eyes still look pretty & girly with the thicker & darker lashline and lashes. First off, thanks for moving back to NorCal, Chini. She did an awesome job with my lashes and when I was ready for a refill, she moved to SoCal. Not a cool move, but I forgive her since she returned. I went to other places, but I wasn't as satisfied since Chini set a higher standard with her results against other competitors. I have the typical sparse, short Asian lashes; in addition, some of my lashes grow in odd directions and my eyes aren't quite symmetrical due to the scar from my post surgical cyst removal years ago on one of my upper lids. I like my lashes to look natural yet noticeably full, thick, and long. After she assessed the challenges my eyes bring forth (again), she made few suggestions and after I woke up from the completion of her work, I LOVE MY LASHES even more this time around. I couldn't stop admiring how beautiful and natural my eyes look in the mirror and how jealous I would be if I were other girls looking at my eyes. I even got a little extra attention from my husband *wink *wink. I would say my new lashes will contribute to my baby-making tactic =-) As usual, she provided the tool and upkeep instructions so it will last longer and mine lasted about 3 weeks with only a few lashes falling here and there. Chini is absolutely ... AMAZING!!! TIPS for active folks: get your hot yoga, cardio or any other high intensity workouts out of the way before coming in. Shower and perform your face exfoliation regimen the morning of as well. You can't get your lashes wet for 24 hours; I usually wait 48. Yeah, gross, I know, but it helps the lashes last longer! You can still clean yourself lol, but I wouldn't recommend hopping in a shower and def avoid humid places (i.e. saunas) for the first 24 hrs. I usually come in early in the week; that way I can get a good workout or two in before getting dolled up over the weekend. That also allows the ability to put on mascara thereafter without damaging them too much. Enjoy! The first time I ever had my lashes done was in downtown San Carlos. The heavy lashes hurt and the woman burned the heck out of my eyes with the glue. I vowed never to get them done again! But then, after helping a friend through some hard times, she got me a Groupon for Chini's services. I had my doubts walking in due to my previous experience. However, Chini greeted me with a big smile and offered me tea before getting started, which soothed my nerves. Please note that her spot if upstairs inside a large salon. If her door is closed, she's finishing up another client and will come out to get you. By the way, not only is she stunningly pretty but her soothing voice and modest disposition made the welcome all the more alluring! Anyway, Chini explained the different types of lashes and the expectations I should have. Proper care is KEY!!! I definitely recommend the mink silk set. They look natural and don't feel heavy at all. If you need them to be more dramatic, just apply with mascara and remove gently with eye makeup remover oil. Chini's hands are so delicate, I can barely feel her working! So, FIVE stars for this superstar. She's pricier than some other spots but worth every penny. She works hard and is easy to talk to. I've had my eyelashes done at different places before and Chini is the best for me. I tried the famous Long Mi lashes from LA for a couple months but they break your bank and take your natural lashes with them! I've also had a bad job done before in another place where they glued my eyelashes together and had to have it removed after a week (that's how I found Chini when I was frantically looking for another place!!) and she saved my lashes by removing them ASAP and the breakage wasn't too bad. I'm really picky and OCD about my eyelashes now but Chini does such a great job she's got me addicted to these extensions. The long mi lashes did look nice and natural but for how much they cost and considering the damage it did to my natural lashes (it was so sparse when I take them off) I didn't think it would be worth it as a long term thing. I've had two different sets done with Chini now, first the Silk and currently wearing the Silk Mink. Both look great but I can really feel the weight difference on my eyes!!! I am so in love with the Silk Mink, I barely notice it's on because I don't feel a thing. It's THAT feather light. The technique that Chini applies the extensions with makes it so that the extensions fall off without taking your natural lashes with them (with the minor few where your lashes are due to fall out anyways) and this is so *crucial* because that is so not the case with many eyelash extension techs who are not skilled! You do not want sparse and bald lashes after wearing extensions. You should also know that with eyelash extensions you get what you pay for. If you find a place that's really cheap for a full set.. Just beware it's cheap for a reason. And if they don't take at least 1.5-2+ hours to do a full set, they probably glued your eyelashes together aka eyelash nightmare. So be a well informed customer and do your research beforehand; don't be afraid to ask your eyelash tech lots of questions, ask for sample pictures or styles from previous clients, or name your concerns the first time you get a set! I asked Chini like a million questions and concerns and she was so patient with me and everything turned out well that now I know for sure what I can expect and there's no surprises. I find that her pricing is reasonable as well for the work that she does. I like my lashes to look more natural too so this second set is absolutely perfect for me. I'm traveling for the summer soon and I'll be gone for a month so I'm actually really sad I can't touch them up but I'm definitely coming back for another set when I'm back. Also from the first set I found out that I'm a bit allergic to the eyelash glue but the redness goes away after two days and it doesn't bother me that much. Chini suggested I take an antihistamine before coming in as it helps to take the redness away faster so if you're allergic like me or you know you have sensitive eyes, pop a Claritin or something before your appointment! read more

I got mink lashes which are pricey but the best since it does not feel heavy and you forget you have them on. People who see me a lot know that I had extensions added but do say it looks good and not overdone on me. Yes, I sleep on my side and noticed the sides going first as Chini had warned me before leaving her office. I discovered iCute Lashes through Groupon and I liked my lashes so much, I have decided that I will be getting touch-ups regularly now! The first time I arrived, I was surprised at the size of the salon - it's larger than your average salon, with quite a few stations and treatment areas. The receptionist will direct you to go upstairs (located at the back), where you can wait on a comfy couch. There is also tea/water available. Then, Chini, the super talented and friendly lash artist, will greet you and lead you down a long hallway to her peaceful treatment room. Chini will talk to you about what type of style/effect you want. I told her I wanted my lashes to look a little glam (so it was noticeable), but long lasting and I didn't want to look like a street walker, haha! We decided that silk lashes - which are lighter than faux mink lashes - would be best for my needs. I let Chini decide on length & weight; she is a MASTER of her craft and knows what is best for each client! The last time I had lash extensions was 7 years ago, and this experience with Chini was SO MUCH BETTER! No tape was used...instead, Chini uses cool collagen pads under your eyes (feels like cucumber slices). I felt relaxed, as if I was at a spa! I could have fallen asleep during the whole process (about 2 hours). The result? I LOVED it! The lashes were noticeable, but looked very natural at the same time. In fact, I stopped wearing top eyeliner on my lid because the lash extensions give that same effect - it really opens up your eyes! Judging from the results and my experience with Chini, I could tell she is really detail-oriented with her work! I went back to Chini 4 weeks later for a touch-up and she was impressed that a lot of my lashes were still intact. I made it a point to not rub my eyes at all and not use any oil-based makeup on my top lid, so I believe that helped! My sister loved the look of my lashes so much, she also went to Chini and asked for the similar style/effect. Since my sister's lashes are a lot different than mine, some of her lash extensions had less staying power, but Chini quickly remedied that issue by spending an EXTRA session with her the next day! It was my first time ever getting lash extensions, so of course I yelped vigorously before booking the appt after years of pondering the idea. I've been to 3 of the best rated lash specialists in the area and Chini is definitely my favorite. Her incredibly sweet personality is a huge plus, she is so fun & easy to talk to. She gave me info on lash thickness/length that was TOTALLY new to me. The other technicians never explained this. I now understand why my lashes should be a certain length & trust her to make that choice for the health of my lashes. Her glue/application technique is top notch. One technician I went to had a great personality but her application of the glue was clumpy and I ended up with really sparse, tiny lashes. The other technician had great glue technique but it seemed like it didn't last as long (and she isn't very personable, while Chini totally is).
