Both sides of the family met in Oahu for vacation, and months prior I suggested that we should hire a professional photographer so we could 1) remember the occasion, and 2) have some updated photos of the family as we have our newest addition: our son Xavier. After doing my required Yelp searching, I narrowed it down to 4 photographers who specialize in children's photography. Though Keao was the priciest of the 4, I chose her because she didn't put a time limit on her session. I thought this was key because my son was only 7 months and not only was I unsure how he would handle the time difference, but he's just fidgety and unpredictable at this age! Communication was really easy via email and all my questions were answered. She also provided good tips on styling, which was useful as there would be 8 of us and we wanted to have some sort of cohesiveness. The session itself went smoothly, even though Xavier fell asleep about 20 minutes in! We still took advantage and had her photograph all the possible family combinations while he took a nap. Looking at the photos, you can't even tell that Xavier was cranky, haha. Also, I felt as if she captured us how we really are... it's hard to explain. Looking at a photo of me and my sister-in-law being silly, it just made me think, "OMG this is us!!" I'm extremely happy with the work Keao's done, and can't wait to show the photos off on my social media accounts, Christmas 2017 cards, and any other occasion in the future. But Geily made it quick and easy. She was very great on communication and informed me when she would be able to make it to the hospital in a short notice. When she got to the hospital she knew exactly what she needed to do in a short amount of time. She handled my new born like a pro and knew exactly what to do when she started crying. I immediately fell in love with Emily's artistry when I stumbled upon her Instagram! Emily's packages were also very reasonably priced, which left room for my now husband and I to add on a wedding album and USB drive of all the photos to our package. I don't think you'll find a better value for the quality of wedding photos that Emily delivers. Emily is also such a kind and accommodating person! Our wedding ceremony and reception was planned for March 21 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly shuttered everything on Oahu. So instead of the 200 person reception we planned, we postponed the reception with our extended family and friends to next year and opted to marry in an intimate ceremony with our immediate family instead. Throughout this whole craziness that unfolded in a matter of 2 days, Emily was extremely sympathetic. She was able to still come out for a mini session and capture our intimate ceremony. She was very nice and was more than happy to postponed our wedding package to next year when we get to celebrate with everyone else. She arrived early day-of and was very good at people wrangling too! She guided our family efficiently and got all the family pictures in, and had a way of making my husband feel less camera shy. The day after our ceremony, Emily had already sent me some sneak peeks that looked amazing and that we could share with our family and friends!
