Food was not good. Catfish had a strange taste. Shrimp are mostly breading. Tee tiny cocktail shrimp. Roast beef in French dip was grey. My son took 3 bites and couldn't finish it. Only thing worth eating was the hush puppies. Side salad was good. The seafood feast is literally enough for 3 people! Nice size. Portions are huge. I used to eat there fairly frequently. Hadn't been in quite a while so I stopped in for breakfast today. Never again. The teenage hostess was rude. The server called her out in front of customers for forgetting my drink. The server didn't know what egg substitute is and apparently the cook didn't either. The restaurant was out of "home fries" so they subbed hash browns - without asking me first. Food was warm-ish but not hot. And the bus duo complained loudly (again, in front of customers) that only one person at a table of eight left a tip. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant! Very nice home style cafe to stop at for Sunday lunch or whenever. The Tower cheeseburger is absolutely amazing. The food is always hot and fresh, service is very friendly, and tables and booths are clean. I love how they will add mushrooms and jalapeños to your burger if you request it, that is always a plus in my opinion. A very good home style cafe in my opinion. I've asked them before not to put the jam/jelly packet on my food (I've worked in kitchens before). The waitress acted like I'd farted at her for asking. At least this time they didn't put it on my eggs.. they laid it on top of the toast. That's still on my food. Very (VERY) unsanitary and totally unacceptable. 'Didn't say anything this time. We found this gem by accident! New to Springfield, I googled restaurants open for takeout on Thanksgiving day. Not only were they on the list, but they were going to be the first to open on Thanksgiving morning. I figured it would be easy to call in a takeout order at 7 a.m. and not get busy signals for an hour. They had really good reviews so we ordered our Thanksgiving meal. It was wonderful! Plenty of food, absolutely wonderful moist turkey, delicious stuffing, creamy mashed potatoes and corn. The biscuits were fluffy. My husband declared it the best not-cooked-at-home meal ever. My wife and I went for the first time this a.m. for breakfast. It wasn't very busy, but it was a long time before we were served. Our server was curt from the first. She brought drinks and we asked if she wanted our order. She snapped at us and said not yet and left. Several long minutes later we asked another server for a manager. No one ever came. They were still not busy. We decided to leave and pay for our drinks. I asked the man up front if he was manager. He said yes. We told him we were there a long time and hadn't had our order taken. Our server now appeared to him and snapped at us and him. He did nothing except to charge us for the drinks we didn't drink. Another server came over as we were leaving and apologized. All I wanted was a monster burger plain. I told the waitress (who thinks that leggings are appropriate work attire) that I wanted just "The meat and the bun." She repeated it back to me so I know she heard it. Then she brought a monster burger with cheese and bacon. I told hear that I ordered it plain and she told me, "Oh, it comes with cheese and bacon." She then reluctantly offered to take it back but I was already frustrated and my blood sugar was low so I just scraped the cheese off and ate it. I took a bite of the bacon and spit it out. It was tougher than jerky which means it had set out a while. My wife had ordered "Home Fries" which apparently means chunks of potatoes cooked until they're charcoal. The entire operation seemed very unprofessional and I won't be going there again. I like supporting local businesses but I get better service at McDonalds! read more

WOW!!!! This was a GREAT late Sunday morning breakfast experience. The parking lot was packed, so we were a little worried that they might not have room for our party of 7. We were greeted by the host, who gave us a couple of options, then quickly pushed two tables together and seated us right away, up front. Our waitress was super efficient, not overly chatty, checked on us regularly and didn't let us want for anything. The food was amazing; try the Greek or French omelette, spiral French toast, cinnamon toast, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sliders- none of us were disappointed, including generous portions even for the kids' plates. Can i give zero stars? We went in to try Kearney Street for the 1st time today (we love a late day diner breakfast) we were seated and waited over 10 minutes without even a drink order, we watched as 2 tables seated after us were served drinks. We got up to leave and the host who sat us, saw us leaving and instead of addressing the service issue ran to the back. If you want diner breakfast stick to Ziggies or Norma's Carriage House. Obviously Kearney Street does not care about new customers. Maybe the drive through would have been a better option, at least we would have been waited on. read more

Horribly slow service. Food price is good, however the food quality is lacking. Poor and slow service plus poor quality equals worst star rating possible. So, the waitress was really nice up front. The food that I got was somewhat cold..but it did have a good taste. The problem was we went in about 8:30 and at exactly 9 pm, they started to vacuum the other side of the restaurant. (which was only somewhat annoying). Then around 9:05/9:10 they came and vacuumed right beside our table as we were just finishing up our food. There was no reason for this. Someone should be able to walk into the door at 8:59 and get the same service as someone who came in any other time of the day. Then, when we realized that we were being rushed out, we got up to pay. We then WAITED for someone to come check us out as another lady was putting away menus and such and didn't even acknowledge us. so we then had to WAIT to check out until someone came up from the back. As a Springfield native I don't have a lot of business on the north side of town so I was unaware of this café. I found myself on the north side with my wife and grandson around the breakfast hour. My wife is not a fan of McDonalds or Golden Coral so she found the café on Google. For the travelers out there it is located about a 1/2 mile south of the I-44 exit at Kansas Expressway (Missouri 13). When we pulled into the lot there were numerous vehicles parked (encouraging). At approximately 09:00 on a Thursday we were immediately seated. Our waitress greeted us promptly and she was pleasant and clearly in tune with some of the needs my grandson might have. My wife and I had the breakfast special 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, hashbrowns and toast (I think it was $3.49). I substituted toast for biscuit and gravy which was a $1.00 up charge. The wife had the same but she substituted the toast for pancakes with peanut butter (the grandson loves the stuff). The pancakes were also a $1.00 up charge. The eggs were over medium as ordered. The bacon was meaty and crisp (not burned). The hash browns needed salt and pepper for my taste. The biscuit and gravy was the only thing that I was a little disappointed in. Don't get me wrong, I ate them. Few places have really good buscuits and gravy. The shortstack of pancakes were fluffy and good. The café and restrooms were clean. Our waitress was very attentive when we had a need. This place is for normal people who enjoy good food at a reasonable price. If you want to eat with the Kardashians don't come to this place. If you want to eat with regular people I'm confident you will enjoy the experience. read more
