The stepson mentioned Big Biscuit as a breakfast option before graduation. I love biscuits, and I like the name. I had the new Nashville Hot biscuit, which was drizzled with honey and upgraded my grits to Cowboy grits. The biscuit was amazing! I had to eat it with my fork because it was so big and dripping with delicious honey. I love grits and love spicy, so I upgraded my grits. The chorizo was cooked perfectly and not greasy at all. There was a good spice kick, but not terrible it you aren't a big 'like it hot' person like me. Another in our party got the Alamo Burrito and said it was 'fire'. Not too many people when we went, so it was fast. Service was great and the decor is cute. Great visit. I may need to try the biscuits and gravy next time I'm 8n town. read more

While the menu was exciting and the reviews were high, the service wasn't so great. It's a cute space and the decor is neat, but our server had a hard time comprehending the menu and our orders. Food was really good though! Iced coffees are good, breakfast bowls were huge and the food was prepared perfectly. Overall a nice stop driving through town. read more

The food was good, it was a great portion and the temperature was perfect. Service was excellent. Dalton was friendly, patient and such a nice person. Ambiance was comfortable and it wasn't too crowded when I was there. I only wish I wasn't seated at a table in the middle of the room since I was eating alone. But otherwise it was nice. I like the menu and I hate the prices. We were seated in a glassed in dining area inside the dining room which I think was really neat. The drink menu does not list one single price. It's making me suspicious that the prices are changed on a whim. I ordered from the traditional portion of the menu. 2 eggs with meat. With the choices of ham steak, bacon or 2 sausage patties for my meat I selected bacon. Between biscuit, grits or toast I selected the biscuit. It was BIG. Flavor wise it was just okay, pretty doughy to me. I ordered my egg over hard and it came out soft which equals inedible for my taste buds. In the "Traditional Breakfast" portion of the menu it suggested that I ask for sausage gravy so I did. It wasn't spiced up or flavorful in any way and there was also an up charge for the gravy that the server did not bother to mention. For people with hearty breakfast appetites this is a good place to try as the portions are generous. read more

What a pleasant place for breakfast! We had a party of seven and they were very accommodating, the waitlist feature helped to warn them we were on the way. We ordered a variety of pancakes, scrambles and biscuits. The table was quiet, a sign everyone enjoyed their meals. I had Jim's Platter which hit the spot with biscuits and gravy, eggs, and potatoes. Had breakfast at Big Biscuit ordered the eggs Benedict which had regular ham & mixed hollandaise sauce. The eggs & muffin were good, the ham was tough & the sauce was a powdered mix &`the grits were good. Guess a person must go to "fine dinning" to get real hollandaise. My husband and I stopped at this location. The host was very nice and told us it would be a 10 min wait. After 30 mins we noticed people with larger parties were being seat that checked in after us. Now when my husband went in to see why parties were being seated, he was told they used the app. Now as a customer that is unprofessional and shows a lack of caring about the service the restaurant gives. read more

This is one of the 'go to' spots when I'm in town. Today being Mother's Day, I knew all the fancy places would have 1.5 hr wait. They did lol I was able to join the wait list online and show up when I was ready. Only waited maybe another 10 minutes before we were seated. The place was busy but the staff was friendly and helpful. Location was clean and the staff was quick to turn tables, sweep floors and sit the next group. Great teamwork!! I ordered the omelet burrito, forget the exact name. Was very good. Fresh veggies and stuffed with jalapeños and potatoes as well. The coffee was fresh and had my own carafe. Love that! Our table of six had a wonderful breakfast and a great experience at this restaurant. We love the Yelp waitlist function that is so easy to use. It said we had a 10 minute wait so we drove right over and as we parked, we received a text that our table was ready and we walked in the door and were seated straight away! Awesome! Every one of us ordered a different menu item - 8 ordered breakfast and 1 ordered lunch. I had the eggs Benedict and I subbed sausage for the ham and she asked me how I wanted my egg cooked which is strange because normally it's just a poached egg and it's always runny. So I said I want it poached with a runny yolk. My yolk was cooked just a little bit too much & and wasn't very runny. Also, the hollandaise sauce tasted like it came from a mix and was not made fresh, but was still good. My nephew ordered the chicken tenders and french fries and they came out more like chicken fries because they were only about 2-3 inches long and skinny like fries. He said the hot sauce tasted mostly like garlic sauce so he added Frank's hot sauce to the ranch dressing and made his own spicy ranch sauce. Everyone else was very happy with their breakfast selections. I have to give a shout out to our server as she was very attentive and our drinks were never more than half empty before she was bringing us another. I look forward to going back and trying their chicken and waffles, they looked incredible. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would .waited 45 minutes for a table for my husband to have a nice breakfast for Father's Day. FINALLY, after seating someone ahead of us when we were the first on the waitlist, they seated us at a dirty table with a spilled drink underneath. I asked for the table to be cleaned and they moved a dirty chair. My husband was standing, waiting for a chair, but the floor was soaked from the spilled drink. Food was fine, the biscuits were soft and the hash browns were tasty. The bummer is the service. The hostess was nice as she checked us in. A lot of tables were open but still had a 10 minute wait even with joining the "waitlist" prior to arriving. The restaurant seemed adequately staffed for the amount of diners, but that the staff was more focused on engaging with each other. The waiter was friendly but seemed to be rushing to get back to conversations with his co-workers. We ordered a sweet biscuit. He said it would be out first - great, we will enjoy our coffee. Our meal came out surprisingly fast - with no sweet biscuit. We asked the food runner about Tabasco sauce - and she never came back with it. Our waiter stopped by and asked about our food and didn't notice the missing biscuit, we had to remind him. When the waiter came back with the biscuit we asked for more coffee, we never received it. At the end he asked us if we wanted to go cups - I felt like he just wanted us out of his section. The entire experience felt rushed with out lot of people behind us. Not bad, but definitely not "WOW." You can actually get better biscuits and gravy at the majority of cafes or restaurants in the area; in fact I think Hardy's might just have them beat. I honestly hand hopes for a ginormous biscuit since their name implies just that. Not to mention a menu that has "full, half, and third portion sizes for the biscuits and gravy. So I went with a half, and the grits. When it came out it looked like a normal order that I'd get anywhere else. The grits were okay nothing amazing about either dish, and expensive. Call me old fashioned, but I think I'll stick to the diners that charge half as much for twice as much food. read more

Big thick course black hair in my food on my Sunnyside up eggs waffle, Krispy on top, wet and soggy on the bottom. Yesterday's grits, dry film on the top of the bowl of grits and then underneath big chunks in the small bowl of grits I asked for replacements and it did not get any better. The waitress slammed the plate down and stormed off into the kitchen. The good: the place is new, I think, so it is clean and the decor was great looking. The not so good: the food was mediocre and so was the service. Our server seemed new and very timid and unsure of himself. I'm not going to be negative about that. Everyone has to start out and that was fine. The food was meh. It looked impressive when it came out, but I'm not sure why all these places can't make a simple pancake. It's the easiest thing to make and still they serve you heavy, dense pancakes. They are large, like as big as the plate, but why bother? You aren't going to even eat half of them, especially when they are bad. Nothing else we had was even close to memorable. They need to step up their food and service game because the place is pretty nice looking. We were disappointed. read more

Our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to work or maybe she was annoyed that they seated us with her, idk. Refills took forever, so that was also frustrating. The bathroom left something to be desired- it was small and not the cleanest. The food was typical diner food, nothing to write home about. I personally don't care to go back, but my husband probably would if he was in the area. The whole place seemed a bit dirty, dingy, and in serious need of updating. Not a fan.

The burger fries looked amazing and my mom raved about them. I LOVED my roast beef. I haven't had it in a while and have never ordered it in a restaurant. I'm glad I did. The meat was nice and tender, the gravy savory and luscious. I would order it again in a heartbeat. They had lots of dessert offerings but we were too full to try any of them. The restaurant is large. It looks nice inside and has room for almost any size of group. The service was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place for a delicious, homestyle meal. Come check this restaurant out!

I'm really not sure where to start with this review. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. I saw…read morephotos of the food on Yelp and thought this might be a good dive or greasy spoon style diner to have lunch at with my husband, since I was in the area. We met there and the outside aesthetic alone should've warned us off. To start, the exterior of the building was quite worn down, the windows were dark and dirty, and the sign was broken. If it weren't for the cars parked outside and for the fact that I called ahead to ensure they were open, we would've thought they were closed for business, permanently. We enter the building lobby, for lack of a better word, and proceed into the dining room. The first step into the dining room was me stepping into a literal hole that is covered with a rubber mat. That's a definite hazard. I couldn't believe that they'd just cover it with a mat. That's really dangerous. At that point, I was really starting to rethink staying. We walk further in and there is this atrocious, sour, vomit-inducing stench that billows throughout the room. It slaps you in the face and takes your breath away, and it's covered by a very strong pine smell. Again, I'm contemplating leaving but my husband didn't want to make a scene. The place is FILTHY! And I don't mean filthy as in someone spilled food and didn't clean it up. I'm talking decades of grease, dirt, bacteria, etc. covering the floor and furniture. You could take a putty knife and chisel up layers of gunk from the floor. There was even a sign that said something like- "Wipe tables down each night- Alli". I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist. If you have to tell your staff that.... ugh... We get to the table and I didn't even want to touch the chair to sit, let alone stay there and eat, but I didn't want to leave right after we entered the place. I was hoping (praying) the food would be worth it... The waitress comes over to take our drink order and brings the drinks back pretty quickly. The cup felt like it hadn't been washed, ever... It had a layer of grime on the outside. Say you cooked something greasy at home and let the greasy dish soak in the sink for a day, but a cup fell into the pan and soaked with it overnight. When you pick it up the next day and the grease is stuck to the side of it- that's what it felt like. I would've asked for a new cup, but I knew in my gut that the next one wouldn't be any better. It's like they run their dishes through a dishwasher that only has cold water and no hot water. Bleh. They take our food order and I'm quite literally praying that we don't get sick from eating here. Why I stayed, I have no idea. I guess I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. The waitresses seemed like they had their own issues and I didn't want to add to it. The food comes out and and it's time to eat. My burger was ok at first, clearly a frozen patty but I'm giving it a shot. Then I taste something off and stop eating it. My fries... I just can't even... a few of them were ok, but then I got to some that tasted like they had been fried in a deep fryer that had been used for years without being cleaned or having the grease replaced. My burger also tasted like it was cooked on a filthy grill. My husband couldn't stomach the place and only ate the things on his plate that he thought couldn't make him sick. We got the ticket, paid, and left as quickly as we could without being too obvious or rude. It's a little restaurant that is clearly struggling. This place was beyond 'dive' or 'greasy spoon' status. There's no possible way that this restaurant is safe to eat at. I honestly don't know how they ever pass the health inspection. The level of dirty here is not something that can be cleaned up the day before inspection day, just to get this dirty again between inspections. It must never, ever, be cleaned, or the inspector is blind, literally. As you can guess, we will never be eating here again and I don't recommend that you do either.

This place has been around for a while. Not your best place...but...for what it is...is not too…read morebad. It's certainly cheap enough for the amount of food you get. The fried chicken special was $8 or $9 as example. Service was good and plenty of help it seemed. The overall atmosphere of the place isn't the best by any means. But for a cheap meal...hey...ya can't have everything! lol.
