I like to be a good citizen of the planet, but I also value convenience. When I can accomplish my good citizenship goal AND meet my convenience requirement, I am one happy gal. And in my new neighborhood of Sandy Springs, the Morgan Falls Recycling Center makes me a happy gal. The Recycling Center takes LOTS of items - items that most local recycling pick-up services around Greater Atlanta won't take. Yeah, so you have to drive there. I live close by, so that's no big deal. What IS awesome is that I can drop all my various recyclables off in one spot, and, if I go during staffed hours (M-Sat, 8-4, Sun 9-4), the friendly staff folks actually drag everything out of my car and to the appropriate bins for me. And that is super awesome, and I can drive off feeling good about myself and my environmental-friendliness. Check the website for info on what can and can't be recycled - a few items, like TVs and computers, do have a small fee. Oh, and once you turn off Roswell onto Morgan Falls Road, keep driving down a ways until you see the Recycling Center sign on your left. Thanks to the Morgan Falls Recycling Center, It's Easy Being Green!

I want to save the planet as much as the next person, possibly more since I did specifically ask for a place that recycles batteries. And when the combination of the Great Snowcation of 2011 in Hothlanta and the MLK Jr Holiday caused a huge pile of recyclables in our kitchen, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to check this place out. The parking lot reminds me of the recycling area at YDFM - large containers for all kinds of paper (if that doesn't make you want to cancel your magazine subscriptions and write letters about the waste that is the phone book, then I don't know what will). The portion that's in the actual facility has the glass and plastics (#1 and #2 only). Also in the building, there was an area for batteries, but it was labeled "Ni-Cad" (rechargeable batteries) - not your regular alkali. I saw alkali batteries in the bin, so I just left mine there, since it does say on the website that they accept all kinds of batteries. I also saw some alkali batteries in the trash bin a few feet away, so I'm hoping they don't just all end up there... So why less than 5 stars? Mainly because I'm lazy. I couldn't tell who the volunteers were, so I didn't ask about the batteries. Also, at the Roswell Recycling Center, there's an army of volunteers who comes to your car to help you unload and sort, and there's none of that here. Future trips will required extra preparation, to sort the paper, glass, and plastic so that I don't have to go through it all when I get here. They do accept electronics items inside, which I'll be taking advantage of in the future. #Yelp365 - 18/365

The Sandy Springs recycling center is a great spot for feel-good community service and good old environmental protection. Cliff, the primary team lead is a great guy with a passion for what he does. The team of volunteers are great for assisting anyone who passes by during open hours. It's a clean facility where you know your recycling is going to serve a purpose. I can't believe the amount of local community members that recycle! Giant canisters full of recyclable plastic, glass, paper, you name it! It's great to see this great center in our community, and hope they stick around for years to come! I've been a few times now and I definitely recommend this location to friends and community members.

He made it clear he valued our business, also went above and beyond to show it. He explained the entire process and answered all of my questions throughly. At the time of the visit, I met Alex and the pickup crew, who were very professional and friendly. Huge thank you to Alex for sharing a few words with our company on how their recycling process works and how they partner up with local organizations to donate items. It was a smooth process and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs junk removal services.

I originally hired them for junk removal from a storage unit and they were pleasant, efficient and very competitively priced - quick, easy quote, no surprises and very easy to work with too. They truly are a "green / sustainable" business and recycle and donate everything possible - which was very important to me. Best news ever is that they also can load movable storage containers - I've now used them twice and they were far superior to the "moving" company I'd used on a previous occasion. They are not "box stackers," they have extensive knowledge and experience in professionally loading and even packing home and business goods. Moves are stressful and I can honestly say that Alex and Raul (and recently Vinny too) truly took great care with my personal property and gave me great peace of mind. Jay handled my quotes and scheduling and it was such a quick and easy process, he was a joy to work with! I just can't say enough about how awesome this entire team is!

This service was completely free. eWaste ePlanet set up giant cardboard boxes, one on each loading dock at our office park, for people to deposit electronics. Property management sent an email to tenants about the electronics recycling drop-off boxes. eWaste ePlanet was accepting all sorts of items including monitors, displays, VCRs, DVD players, home stereo equipment, cable/satellite boxes, computer towers, servers, laptops, power cords, network equipment, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, plotters, cell phones, chargers, batteries, keyboards, mice, cables, spare parts (e.g. hard drives, motherboards, memory, etc.), power adapters, cords, USB cables, universal power supplies, and more. I saw this as a great opportunity to get rid of an old computer, laptop, and accessories I had been hanging onto, but had not used in many years. They included an old Dell Dimension 4100 PC with power cord, Dell QuietKey keyboard, Microsoft Mouse, clunky HP notebook and power adapter, and Linksys WRT54G router. All of my stuff was still in working condition, so I wonder if any of the equipment gets re-used or if it's all just thrown into a big pile that gets stripped down and the metal scrapped. eWaste ePlanet does not make this clear. The boxes were around outside for about a week before eWaste ePlanet came by and picked them up. It's possible my working equipment was crushed and broken by other equipment thrown on top and/or they succumbed to the elements or changing temperatures. eWaste ePlanet accepts drop-offs 24/7 at their location in Norcross. They also have a location in Long Island City, NY. The drop-off spot in Norcross is good to know about for the next time I want to recycle old electronics.
