DO NOT USE. This review is long over due, but it needs to be posted. My Husband and I used Stuart to inspect our condo in 2017 prior to closing. Our air conditioning unit, along with another owners' air conditioning unit, is on the roof. After inspection, Stuart informed us that the ac unit was approximately 5 years old, but we could not test it because of the weather. Based on the age of the ac unit, we had no concerns. After closing we began having ac issues almost immediately. We hired an ac company to come out to see what the issue was and we were shocked to find out that our ac unit was 15 years old and not 5 as Stuart had represented. STUART INSPECTED THE WRONG AC UNIT!!! This careless error cost us over $5,000 because the unit needed to be replaced ASAP. I wrote Stuart an email requesting that he remedy the situation and reimburse us for the unit due to his error- We would have never closed on this unit with a broken 15 year old ac unit unless it was replaced. I also was able to schedule an inspection on Saturday for Monday, which was great. Where Keeshin fails to get 5 stars for me is 1. Miscommunication with the radon test vendor who failed to show on the day of the inspection as ordered 2. An inspection report was promised by the next evening but was not received until late afternoon two days following (which I had to prompt about receiving) 3. Having to email and call to receive the radon report once that was finally completed I contemplated giving only 3 stars because of my frustration but the report you receive is very comprehensive and Stuart was so helpful during the inspection. read more

Stuart spent 3 hours going over every system and feature of the house, explaining not only what things were wrong but also what was right, WHY he was looking at what he looked at and what we should look for going forward in terms of maintenance. He was incredibly thorough and very patient with our many questions. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4 is because I did have to call his office 2 days after the inspection in order to get the report, even though it had been promised the day after the inspection. I highly recommend Stuart Keeshin! I'm a very critical individual so for me to give five stars and be impressed takes a lot of effort. Stuart was excessively patient with my multitude of questions and answered everything clearly and precisely. He made sure I understood and took extra time to clarify anything I wasn't entirely clear on. I followed him around for the whole inspection which took about 3 hours, even up to the roof! Afterwards he verbally went over everything with me and the realtors, which was very helpful. His written report was incredibly detailed and not only provided many images to visually demonstrate what he was talking about, but also links to outside sources for people who wanted to research further and learn more about the subject. When I bought my first house in 2005, I hired Mr. Keeshin and at the time I was really impressed. To be honest, I was surprised at how thorough he was, how long we was at the residence, and the amount of work he did after the inspection. He was clearly knowledgable, and I was really pleased and impressed. Since then, I have bought and sold several more houses as investments and have rehabbed them, hiring Mr. Keeshin each time. As a seller several times, I have now seen the reports and comments of about 5 other inspectors, and now more than ever I know that I have found the best inspector out there. There is such a difference, it is like apples and oranges. Looking at the other reports, I found so often that information contradicted itself, didn't make any sense, or had such little supporting information and pictures that neither buyer nor seller were sure of what it meant. This is not the case with the Keeshin inspections. Everything is organized, precise, and clear. Also, I don't know if this is the case with other inspectors, but Mr. Keeshin is always available afterwards to answer questions and often provides suggestions of where to turn for different issues. I have recommended Mr. Keeshin to every friend who I have who is buying a new place, and all have been really happy with him. In fact, several have gone on to hire him for subsequent purchases and have recommended him to friends and family in the area as well, referring to him as their "guy". When asked if he would go on the roof, I was told that it would be an additional charge. I agreed to it as I wanted to know the condition of the roof as well as the AC unit. No big deal I was willing to pay the extra money as it was worth it. I happened to be outside (the home inspector did not know that I was watching), but he went up on the ladder and looked at the flat roof from the ladder for 2 seconds and then came back down. He never walked up on the roof to check the condition of the roof or AC unit. When he was coming back down the ladder I asked did you assess the condition of the roof and AC unit. He stated it was fine. Shortly after living in my condo, the roof had major problems in 5 areas, visible holes. All that would have been visible to the home inspector if he had gone up on the roof. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I thought Stuart did a decent job, that is until I had an HVAC company in to clean the system when we moved in and they opened the furnace and looked at it, Stuart had said they would try to get us to buy a new furnace, the thing is - we NEED it. Stuart looked at 2 major gas and fire hazards and told us it wasn't a big deal. We had a second opinion to confirm they are indeed hazards. He dismissed these two major flaws as minor.If he had done his job we would have insisted on a credit from the sellers, now we can't have the furnace on until it's replaced, for fear of both a gas leak and a fire. awesome. He also missed more window issues and a few other things. He did such a horrendous job I'm just waiting to see what else he missed. read more
