At the end, he walked us through everything verbally before sending the written report, which was extremely helpful. He explained what really mattered, what was more routine, and what we should keep an eye on, all in plain language. That conversation alone made the whole inspection feel much less stressful. Joe was also very flexible and accommodating with our tight schedule, which we really appreciated. When the written report came through, it was thorough, clear, and matched exactly what he had already explained to us in person. On the scheduling side, Christina was fantastic. She was professional, responsive, and quick to follow up. Coordinating the inspection was smooth and efficient, even with a compressed timeline, and communication was clear every step of the way. Overall, we had a really positive experience with First Choice Inspectors. Between Joe's knowledge and communication and Christina's excellent coordination, everything felt well organized and well handled. We'd absolutely recommend them and would happily work with them again.

I already knew a fair amount about repairs et al, and Josh was able to answer my questions in detail, so it was clear that he knew what he was talking about. He didn't go beyond what could be fairly asserted, but did ensure that I knew what I should look out for as possible problems in future. I noted their attention to detail - e.g. there were written checks in place to ensure that lights were off, the thermostat was reset, and the door locked behind us. Things like possibly missing or broken screens, lack of outlets in certain areas, a step that was too high were all noted. The cost was very fair and the results were high-quality. I felt that it gave us the information we needed to negotiate fairly with the sellers. Basically, I walked away with a manual that I will refer to in order to ensure that I am checking potential problems and budgeting for future repairs. I could most definitely see asking for a return inspection in a few years to ensure that I was taking care of this very expensive purchase properly! The one VERY picky thing that I would suggest is a table of contents in the writeup, as I wasn't aware that categories of significant findings and advice for future repairs and maintenance were listed at the end of the report.

The inspection report helped us make an informed decision on whether to buy this investment property. Con (depending on your priorities): Fee was higher than bids by other inspectors, but, for me, I got what I paid for.

He made the entire process easy to understand and walked us through the whole ordeal. I never felt like I was bothering him while following him around the inspection and was very easygoing with my incessant questions! He explained every issue he found with great detail, allowing me to understand what things he found required immediate attention and what portions could be addressed in the future. His recommendations were spot-on and very trustworthy. The report he wrote up was available to us within a couple hours of completing the inspection and was very well put together and easy to decipher. I can't stress how great the process was with Lucas and would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat!

I lost the buyer as a result of your hysterical inspection report treating settling cracking in the basement as indication of foundation problems. I would suggest your report created unwarranted concerns in the eyes of the potential buyer in this instance 5 years ago. I would be happy to share the Engineer's report I paid $500 for in an attempt to salvage the sale, but the damage was done. This ultimately cost me $20,000 in my house sale as the later buyer paid this amount less. Thus, the post was not a mistake and the review (although I'm sure it's had minimal impact to your business), will remain posted from my end of things. Something to think about, I don't expect a response.

A friend used it then recommended me last year…read more They actually didn't do a good job. In the final report a lot of sections were read as "something was blocked and couldn't inspect". The property is a 2 floors house. When they do the roof inspection, they were just used a binoculars to check the roof from the ground without went up to the roof. Since the backyard was at the lower ground and the yard distance wasn't enough, they couldn't see a part of the roof then state that couldn't fully inspect. They did find out some serious problems of the house. However, some obvious issues they didn't even mention. The chimney bricks were cracked crazy they din't find out. The corner of the basement wall was cracked they didn't find out. The basement crack caused blooded crawl space during raining days. When I called them about the chimney issue, they responded they saw it but didn't think it required a fix right away. I actually don't even believe they saw it since they didn't even mention it. The inspection was in winter. I believe they were just being lazy. The bricks fall in pieces everyday still. Another serious problem was the bath tub. The previous home owner painted with white. Once we used the tub, the paints were peeled off then we could see the rust. I called the inspection company again and this time they told us it's hard to inspect. It required to run the water for a long time. Anyway, they always have excuses. I would suggest everyone to hire a more professional contractor.

I thought I was really getting good information - that is, until after we closed.... They said the fireplace and chimney were ok, pointed out some cracks and said we needed a water cap. HOWEVER - when chimney sweep came out they said it is 2 feet below code - $4000 to fix. When I asked HomeTeam Charlie about it, he said "we don't keep up with codes" When i explained that the bathtub faucet was leaking to the tune of 1 ich in the tub every 24 hrs, Charlie told me "we don't check for faucet leaks." The topper was being told by Home Team that my roof was 15 yrs old however no sign of leak or problems. My homeowners insurance came out and inspected it and informed me that until I replace my roof at my own cost, they will not insure me. Charlie's response "don't you watch the news? They mentioned this on there. I've been to seminars where they talk about this." Really? You failed to mention that to me.....in fact, we stood in the driveway and made a joke that it was in it's second half of life but had no probems. Their literature tells you that they aren't there to alert you to $100 problems, they are there to alert you to $1,000s problems. Well, this is $40,000 of problems that had I been alerted to during inspection would have changed my negotiation. They do not stand by their work and they certainly are not trying to help you. There are more communicative inspectors out there who charge a lot less money and actually do their job.
