Does not have the feel of a brewery to be honest. The dim lighting is more reminiscent of an Irish pub, not that there's anything wrong with that. Nice vibe to hang out for a while with plenty of seating. A good choice if you like beer and are going out with people who are not into beer because they do have a full service bar and are also open til 2 am on weekdays and 4 am weekends. Went here in Valentines 2021! The menu looked so good new had a hard time deciding. We got shrimp and grits, which came with a weird sauce- and we noticed that the table next to us had 2 orders of the same but without the sauce (noted!). We also had to try the battered chicken and got the tenders. The waitress was new and forgot to ask if we wanted sauce. The price has steadily increased over the years as is normal/expected but something not cool happened recently. I was in about a month ago and got my usual 12 wings for $19 which was a couple of bucks pandemic/inflation price increase (I assume) of the last year or two. Ok fine. But I went in again last week and KnL has decided that they are not offering the dozen wings option anymore. Instead if you want a dozen wings now KnL is forcing you to order two half dozen orders at $12 each. In other words, $24 for 12 wings. THAT'S EFFECTIVELY AN INCREASE of FIVE DOLLARS IN LESS THAN A MONTH. And this comes as inflation has even calmed a little. What the hell, K and L??? read more

They could be a comedy duo if they weren't slinging drinks. The service has been outstanding each time I've visited - but especially so when these two work together on Monday/Tuesday nights. The Bourbon/Rye selection is a bit limited, but it's really a place to drink beer (I think they brew their own). The food is bar food - but it's good bar food. Keg&Lantern was such an awesome find while my friends and I were in Brooklyn. We were wrapping our day of walking around and wanted a place to relax and get some drinks. K&L happened to be nearby so we walked on over and they just happened to have an awesome happy hour going on at the time as well. We were sold. We got beer, wings, and waffle fries for a steal. Definitely will meet (if not exceed) your expectations for bar food. I liked the cool decor inside with the wall made up of a zillion different beer cans. Our server/bartender lady was super nice and I was impressed that she was manning the bar and serving people at tables at the same time too. This is super cute bar/restaurant. They have a backyard patio that so cool with TVs and dimmer lighting. I originally came here for the Octoberfest beer but ended up eating here as well. The food was delicious the short rib nachos were very well executed, they weren't soggy and they were packed with flavor. I also had the shrimp Caesar wrap and it was good but the waffle fries were really really good. I would definitely be coming back. read more

This is a great go-to spot for beers and food. 80's music is always in the background, with large TVs everywhere for all your sports desires - they've even played Syracuse men's basketball, which is always a plus! If you go when it's nice out, they open up their floor to ceiling window in the front, so you get a nice breeze and perfect people watching. Food: in a neighborhood full of "trying too hard to be original" bars, this place has solid, "normal," bar food. In other words, you can't go wrong with whatever you order. I've had the steak quesadillas, bbq wings, angus burgers, etc. and they've all been sizable portions and tasty. The outdoor patio in the back is great space for small to large groups! We were there while it rained and were completely covered by their outdoor roof. Had a few beers on draft, wings and fries. Went here on a slow day to watch March Madness tournament with a friend, bartender was rude and basically worthless, tried to get one of the 4 games to be put on one of the 10+ TV's, had to ask 3 times, and they couldn't figure out how to change the channel, its freaking March Madness, it's not that hard. There were 4 other people in the bar at the time. Would rate it lower, but I met the owner years prior and they seemed nice/committed, good food and beer selection as well. 1st of all, without Katie, we would not have a good time. She knows her beers, she is very nice, she has a very nice personality, and nice looking too!! She chose a flight that was not hoppy, and she hit the mark. The 3 of us almost regretted eating someplace else, because we would not have minded ordering food from her. So my flight consisted of Golden, Poorman, Grisette, and Zebra. My favorite was the Golden. It was crisp and clean and drinks really well. Katie came to check up on is from time to time. She worked quite a few tables. You can tell she is not a complainer. We ordered some wings, which we had naked and they were really good. They came with celery and buffalo sauce. Visited Keg & Lantern Brewing Company on Saturday afternoon. Was able to tune into my game while enjoying quality brews. And with a full bar and kitchen, great for folks sticking around a while. Quality: I love the fact that Keg & Lantern Brewing Company combined the brewery and sports bar experience. Too few breweries have multiple televisions, missing a prime opportunity to bring in a weekend football crowd. While watching a game on Saturday afternoon, we made our way through the complete beer list. That include Stop Whispering, Smoked Helles, Golden, Watch Out For Piranhas, Truth Over Facts, Dreaming Of The Day, Blanc Generation, Greeneyes, Always Returning, Push Me Pull Me, Other Way Of Stopping, Longer Days, and You Gotta Move. A solid selection with You Gotta Move, a barrel aged sour red, and Blanc Generation, a brut IPA, being my favorites. Meanwhile, Smoked Helles was the only one I tried that I was not crazy about. Quantity: Size is up to you, and they have plenty of options available. Value: $3 for 4oz Sampler Pours. $5-$7 for a standard 12oz Draft. Ambiance: Keg & Lantern Brewing Company is located in the Greenpoint area of Brooklyn, not far from McCarren Park. This is a brewery with a distinct sports bar feel. When you walk in you are greeted by the large bar as well as televisions on nearly every wall. Perfect for a busy weekend slate of football. Further in they have a more private sit down area, for folks looking to enjoy some food. Out back they had several picnic tables set up under a tent. Only one television in this area, but great if you really just came for the beer. Crowd: With a large number of televisions, this becomes a hot spot when football is on. I was delighted to see that the brewpub has a cask. Keg and Latern's Treebeard Scottish ale was on cask the day we visited. It's a perfect session beer; I ended up having three. It was warm and red. Had a medium body with a pleasant malty flavor. The rest of the menu focuses on pale ales and IPAs. There was a couple porters, a black lager, and a Belgian white also on tap. The food menu has the perfect pub fare. We decided to have a side of sweet potato waffle fries. The fries were crispy. It was a solid pairing alongside the beers. The brewpub had a great atmosphere. The seating was geared toward groups of two to four. The service was quick and friendly despite the pub being packed. read more

IMHO they source their wings from the same vendors as some of the cheap bodegas in the area (they were that bad). Fries were just as disappointing. Walls decorated with all different kinds of beer cans. Pretty dark. T.V.'s all around playing sports of every kind. You definitely come here for beer as they brew on premises. They have terrific happy hour specials throughout the week. Our waitress could have been more attentive and interested. Feel like she left us in the dust the whole night. I started off with a very interesting cocktail called The Wes. Lemon, soda water and Pinot Grigio. Very refreshing and huge. The Homestyle Nachos were delicious and spot on. I had the Quinoa Veggie Burger for $12. Oh my goodness, this thing was NOT worth $12!! The most disgusting veggie burger I've ever had. Flavorless, dry and broke apart as soon as I picked it up. I didn't hear much about Keg & Lantern before my visit to New York. I happened to be in the area and searched for breweries on Yelp. Lo and behold, this place popped up. I didn't order food, but had a couple beers. The Greeneyes was a fairly standard West Coast IPA. It wasn't overly bitter, but had a nice hoppy flavor. The 10-4 Good Buddy was a good, refreshing session IPA. It was light and citrusy. Keg & Lantern was a pleasant surprise and is worthy of mention in the discussion of good New York breweries. read more

My wife and I have had early lunches at the Keg and Lantern approximately 20 times over the last year. Happy Hour starts at 11:00 A.M. so we usually arrive at about Noon. The waitresses are knowledgeable and friendly, The food is good....but we recommend the burgers which are simply excellent coupled with the waffle style fries. Solid place for beer and food. Went with a bunch of friends and got to try a lot of their beers. They have an extensive list of beer and all of them didn't disappoint. Side note- I'm not the biggest fan of IPAs and I tried two of them here and really loved it. As for the food, speaking for just the sandwiches, the portions for those are HUGE. My friend got the reuben sandwich and I got a fish sandwich special and we both struggled to finish them (and we're big eaters). Decent sized portion of fries on the side too and I didn't find the sandwich to be dry or anything. There isn't anything spectacular about the food but it's good enough. One thing I have to say though is that they can use more seating. There are barely enough tables to accommodate groups of more than 3. There are a lot of small tables that fit up to 3 and after that you have to split up or find another few tables to put together. read more

My favorite brewery in Brooklyn. They do a good job of classics with a fun twist. For example the crystal is a sour IPA, must try if you enjoy both! Don't let the front fool you. There is a good outdoor space out back for during the pandemic. Covered top with open side. They have TVs for sports too. Might want to make a reservation ahead if it's for a big game day.
