Place used to be good/worthy. Menu hasnt changed, beer has changed. Too many other local options for me to go here now. If simple plain and boring is what you like this is your place. If you're going just for beer, this place would probably get 3 stars. The food is decent at best. The service is an absolute joke. Why is it that the fries you order ALWAYS come out after you're halfway done with your meal??? More often than not, when I go there with my family, they' seem to always forget one person's whole meal. I've gotten into arguments with the (high-schooler?) waitresses bc they've gotten my Miller Lite mixed up with another beer. One time, one of the waitresses was just flat-out rude to us. Problem easily solved: she blew her entire tip. It's a shame because the place seems like a family-friendly environment, but what's the point if when you bring your family there, the service isn't family-friendly. ***Update: Just went with my family this past Sunday. Again, the sides got there BEFORE the main dish was served (who eats cole slaw by itself???). The service was actually very good this time. The Keg South Burger that everyone rants about? There is literally no distinction between their burger and a Whopper from Burger King. It tastes EXACTLY THE SAME. Maybe Keg's is slightly juicier, but I am not exaggerating when I say they are exactly the same. The experience wasn't bad at all this one time. Oh, and to the one guy that said "Try getting chicken wings this size at Buffalo Wild Wings" needs to get his head checked out: chicken wings aren't supposed to be that large. Larger wings = chicken pumped up with steroids or other unnatural means. This little hole in the wall is great! Had it not been for Yelp, I would've probably never realized it was here, so thank you Yelp! You MUST order their fries, they are the best! The cook peels them for every order and each basket is easily enough for two fry lovers to share. Their wings are colossal and delicious. I'm not much of a wing gal, but these fall right off the bone and are cooked to perfection. The two guys working the bar/kitchen are very nice and have great customer service. Its good for hanging out with a few friends after work for drinks, very small, total sausage fest. No woman. So if your looking to go to a bar and see / pick up or hang out with hot chicks you better bring your own. The food is pretty good. ADVICE TO MANAGEMENT - I kind of question the sanitary conditions. Definitely a hole in the wall, located right behind the shell gas station, the whole ambience reminds me of an old western movie! The bar is filled with video games, a pool table, and tv's playing football games and reruns. They have happy hour as well as drink special on football nights. Having been to previous Keg South's we walked in with the intentions that it was the same as the others. Well.. that wasn't the case. The menu is much shorter and you have to go up to the bar to order your food. The burgers were beyond burned and tasted flavorless. The one good thing is the potato chips that come with the burger but I couldn't even take a third bite of mine. It is also a bit difficult to find if you haven't been before. read more

Kinda tripped me out the fact that THERE ARE NO SERVERS, we sat in the table for like 5 minutes before we found that you order at the bar. Though it does say it on the menu it was not something i was expecting at all and honestly not something i read at all. Good food not gonna lie. The only thing i could honestly do without were the chicken fingers, they were kind of burnt tasting even though they weren't and the fries were saltier than the devils balls after running a couple miles after swimming in the dead sea (saltiest body of water on earth). This place is a dive bar. Don't come here if you're looking for gourmet fancy burgers. This is a place where you come for a simple burger on the bbq. There's no fancy toppings added. It's a plain and simple regular burger. But they sure know how to do it right. When I'm in the mood for a burger cooked right, this is the place I go. I ordered a side of fries and I watched him bring out potatoes to slice to throw them in the fryer. That's as fresh as it gets. The burgers are real tasty. The beer is cold and all the food is definitely reasonably priced. We got a beer, 2 burgers, and a side of fries and it was like 20 something dollars. It really can't get much better than that. It's a non smoking establishment which is nice for my lungs, and they have a pool table in case you wanna hit a few while you wait for your food. The food comes out fast and it's usually spot on. Definitely recommend checking it out when you're in the mood for some red meat. They have other things on the menu as well such as wings and stuff but I've never had anything other than the burger here so I wouldn't know about it but they always looked/smelled good when I saw them being served. read more

Breaks my heart to post this about one of my favorite local spots. Recently took a buddy for his first keg burger. The place still looks the same but the burgers sure didn't. Ordered two jumbo Kegs and what we got was anything but. Been going here 25+ years since high school so I know what a jumbo 8oz looks like. These barely qualified as the 6oz regular. There was no "WOW" when these came out. When you've got more buns than burger and you literally can't see that thick patty bursting out the sides of the bun you know you've got a problem. Plus the buns were dry due to lack of juiciness which was a concern, too. If you cant squeeze and drip all over that bed of chips you've got a problem because that aint a proper KB. Maybe they had an off day, maybe not. I don't mind your raising the prices a few bucks given the times and you're still less than most but at the very least keep the quality / size the same. When one pays almost ten bucks for a jumbo 8oz KB one wants what they pay for. Y'all used to be considered the best burger in Miami and there's too much competition and too many options out there these days for y'all to be slipping. We must've passed a half dozen burger joints from Shake Shack and Flani's to Five Guys and Burger-Fi to get all the way over to your spot only to be quite disappointed by puny dry burgers lost inside massive buns. Step your game back up or end up like the rest of the old spots in Miami who fell off and are only scraping by based off their past glory mostly due to sucker tourists. read more

I came here for lunch, oy ve thank goodness I read the previous reviews here, stating it was off an alley, otherwise I would've never found it. The parking area is tiny. This is a cozy bar, located on US1 and 104th Ave.We started off with a super cold mug of Yuengling, there's nothing like a frosty mug in the early afternoon to shrug away your morning workload. We ordered their chicken wings, which were delicious. I had a 1/2 burger, it was very good. My only complaint would be that their buns are way too thick. I am a Pinecrest resident, recently I revisited the Keg in the Village and was very impressed with the new ambiance. The Pinecrest community is growing...The Keg has a great Moms and Pops feel, it's a cool little bar that reminds us where we came from. Six of us went to Keg South for the first time during the Christmas holidays. We had heard that the burgers were "the best". Well, there were lots of negatives before we ever got to the burgers. The parking was ridiculous and had space for about eight cars, off an alleyway. with no real designated spaces. When we walked into the place, it was empty, because we were early. Soon, what appeared to be laborers, arrived en masse for wings and beer. We all ordered the burgers and fries and pitchers of beer and made ourselves at home at some very well worn picnic tables. Our order came out in bits and drabs with the fries arriving after the burgers were long gone. Then we saw the kitchen was the size of a bread box. Let's just say that it was not for us though the food was "okay". The fries were the best part and everything else was the worst part. No returns for us. read more

I was very excited to try these amazing burgers everyone was talking about. I was very disappointed when I actually tasted them. They are far from amazing. If your looking for a good burger I would go to Five Guys. The fries were so greasy. They literally were soggy from all of the oil that was on them when they were served to us. There is no one there to serve you. You have to get up order at the bar, pick up your food at the bar, and clean clean up your own table. Since I was my own waiter I did not think I would have to tip anyone. Apparently I was wrong. The bar tender asked me for a tip as I was walking out. When I told him I was not going to tip because I served and cleaned up after myself he got upset with me. When I was then relaying this message to some friend the same thing happened to them. They refuse to go there because of how nasty the bartender was about demanding a tip he did not deserve. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN! read more

The wings and burgers are beyond compare. Love the cold beer... esp when you luck out on a frosty mug. The ambiance is awesome. Classic rock is often playing on the juke box and the cast of regulars makes it clear this is a great spot to hang. Ownership changed hands in the last year. There were some positive changes - new, not sticky menus, new tvs replaced bad ones, the a/c works. However, I'm not a fan of the new high top tables. They are too high to comfortably lean on and have a lipped edge which is uncomfortable. I say bring back the picnic tables! read more

I previously have gone to the one in homestead and enjoyed it, and had a great experience. This one, I have not one good thing to say. Wings were completely burnt, I also ordered food to go and it wasn't how I asked. Had to get up to get my food and every little thing I needed. If this place is self-service, then it should be told as soon as you walk in. The cook had the nerve to tell me that they work off tips because he had seen that I did not tip. Place smells horrible. My wife and I walked and she went to the bathroom while I sat at a table. When she came back we both commented to each other on how bad and moldy this place smelled. We ended up walking out because we were disgusted. Also, the soap in the bathroom smells like dog shampoo. I wish I could say I'm exaggerating. But it was bad. My wife asked me to smell her hands after washing her hands and the first thing I thought of was dog shampoo. I was at keg south last night to watch game six of the finals. I have come here on many occasions and have enjoyed their burgers and beer. After the way I was treated by the bartender last night I am never going back again. This was a large bearded man with black hair, who was very rude to me when I asked for another beer. Not only did he take 20 minutes but I also saw he was being interrogated by the police. It all seemed like such a drama, and made this local bar very unenjoyable for us adults trying to watch the game. I suggest you keep the same menu but hire more professional employees. I have never experienced something so unprofessional in my life, nor have been treated with such a bitter demeanor by someone at a restaurant. Usually I get attended by the same short guy who is so sweet, I regularly tip him and I'm pretty satisfied by the way he attends and the kind attitude and work ethic he portrays. but today I was very disappointed and assume that the bearded man is a new employee, to all those reviewing this yelp, if you do go to kegs south avoid service from a big bearded man- the rudest and unprofessional.
