Came to Hate Mondays tavern Tuesday afternoon around 2-ish. It wasn't busy at all so we were able to sit down right away. I tried the Taco Tuesday menu, 2 steak tacos and 1 brisket taco and they were INSANELY good! They load those tacos up with meat, they definitely don't skimp. Ambience is definitely dive bar, classic Florida vibes, low lighting, very chill. Will definitely be coming back for more tacos!!!

We literally found an amazing hole in a wall. We were searching for some delicious barbq and we found it. The place is a small warehouse but the inside is extremely cool. They have all sorts of signs and dollar bills hanging around. Then service was great. We got attended to right away. The food was AMAZING!! We started off with the tostones. They were sooooo good. They bring you 2 sauces, one is more of a mustardy flavor and the other barbq flavor. Both just as good!! I had the pulled pork wrap. Oh my god!!! It was perfect because it wasn't overpowered by sauce like most places. My husband had the burger which comes with a patty and pork belly. We also had some crispy fries with our meal. Needless to say, we will definitely come back to this hidden gem. The people are super friendly. Lots of regulars! Can't wait to come back!

We were very lucky to find this local hole in the wall hidden gem with a very unique atmosphere with every space on the wall covered with something interesting or unique that made it fun to sit and to enjoy looking around. This is a very small place with not much seating. They have a large grill/smoker outside and they cook outside but also cook inside and they serve inside. Our waitress Lu Lu knew all the beers and the menu very well and was very helpful in helping us make our decision on what to order. She was always available and very friendly. Their food is amazing! We started with their homemade smoked salmon dip with homemade pita chips; incredibly! We ordered the smoked wings, smoked ribs and smoked brisket and shared everything around the table and nothing disappointed us. The meat was tender, perfectly seasoned and was bursting with so much flavors. We tried a few of their local beers that were served cold and in a cold glass. We finished with some deep-fried Oreos that were so unique and amazing. We had no problems with parking. The owner Karl was extremely friendly. He was saying hello to all his guests. I am looking forward to returning and trying more of their food.

We went for Taco Tuesday and they had all the proteins available, so we ordered the brisket and waffles, tostones, and of course the tacos. Everything was excellent. The tacos were stuffed and not skimpy at all, and the brisket was absolutely delicious--tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant has that true hole-in-the-wall, Florida Keys vibe that makes it feel laid-back and authentic, and the owners are genuinely great people. If you're planning to go, I'd recommend checking their hours since they close early on some days, and definitely ask what proteins they're offering that day. Highly recommend.

I came to Hate Mondays Tavern for the first time around lunch time. It was a little difficult to find the parking entrance from the road but once I saw the smoker I knew I was in the right place. The interior is quite small but is a very lively with a bunch of wall and ceiling decorations. The staff were super friendly and helped me place my order. I went with the brisket and the ribs as recommended by them. The brisket was unfortunately not very juicy and a little chewier than I expected. The honey mustard sauce that was drizzle on top of it was very tasty though! The ribs had great texture and flavor. I definitely want to come back and try some of their burgers as a lot of people were ordering them!

Talk about a hole in the wall! Great food, great beer offerings, and the BEST service by Lulu! I love the look and made me feel like I was somewhat in a Key West type of restaurant with the bills on the ceiling. The wings were amazing and with a kick (bbq is my spicy). So many beer options, it was overwhelming but in a good way, I tried Pregame from Funky Buddha and a pilsner from Carlsberg which was great! Overall, amazing! The whole team, including Jo the chef, were so inviting, we had a great time! Definitely coming back for a "real lunch". I loved this place!

First time coming here. Placenis chill and nostalgic. Great ambiance and Excellent food. DEFINITELY MUst come here.

04/2024 Rating: 4.5 Found out abou this place through Yelp and Instagram. If you're not from the area, you won't even know it's there unless you follow where the smoke is coming from. Located within the warehouse business near Costco, parking is small and can be difficult. I recommend coming early. RESTAURANT: The grill master does this magic outside. Inside is actually pretty small. You are greeted by a small counter that gives you a sneak peak of what is happening behind the scene. Seating can be limited so I recommend coming right when they open. Every single wall is adorned with trinkets from military mementos, movies, sports and more. There are so many things to see and discover. Furnitures consist of wooden tables and chairs. I did find that some of the booth/bench is a bit far from the table. The restaurant is clean, especially the restroom. It can get loud in there but the vibe is overall a really good time. SERVICE: The grill master himself said hello to us as we entered and thanked us sincerely as we left. The serving staff were also wonderful. She answered all of our questions and made suggestions that we thoroughly appreciated and enjoy. The food came out in a timely manner and she made sure to check on us throughout our meal. They crew seems to enjoy working with one another and it was nice to see that they are like one big happy family. FOOD: Now, for this visit, we came specifically for the oxtail, baby! I saw it on instagram and I was like..."I must have it." I am used to the Cuban style rabo encendido and the Filipino peanut dish called Kare-Kare so I was curious where this dish would fall. We also had the brisket loaded fries and chicharon. Ok so the chicharon was not what I expected; I was expecting you know the usual crispy pieces of pork belly with that crackling skin. This chicharon were defibitely pieces of pork belly but they are thicker and juicy, not crispy but delicious nonetheless. The brisket loaded fries was just a party with that huge plate of skinny fries, with tender pieces of briskett and pico de gallo and avocado crema looking sauce and topped with bbq sauce. It was so good, I highly recommend. Then comes the braised oxtails which came out in a nice large plate on a bed of white rice with garbanzo beans...a little too much beans but I ate them all. The oxtail was so tender, falling off the bone goodness. The flavor is a lot more subtle compare to the Cuban version but that sauce was saucing. I am grateful they gave big chunks instead of just little pieces. We left nothing on that plate. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. Everything we tried were delicious and I was glad the school was out on a Tuesday because Oxtails were on available on Tuesdays. The pricepoint is a bit high but considering it is meat cooking literally right there as you enter, it can't get any fresher than that. Love this locale business. Highly recommend to see the bearded chef. We will definitely return.

This place was on my list for over 6 years, but their schedule is limited, and every time we happened to be in south west Kendall it was closed or closing within minutes (3pm-4pm). Small, little hole in the wall interesting place. The food was mid, checking this off my list one and done. We ordered a variety, Mondays Burgers ( was told good), pulled work (was told ok) and the brisket platers (was ok), only sides potato salad and coleslaw (both good). I personally ordered the brisket, that's my go to especially in a place like this which had been very hipped for me, I was disappointed, the meat was lean, flavors was good and the Carolina sauce over it was also good it was swirled cold over the meat and it put me off. They had a good variety of canned beer. Give it a try yourself, if I were you, and form your own opinion.

And we plan accordingly to try their famous 12 hour smoked Flan dessert!! 1. Smoked Brisket- moist, perfect flavor, hearty portion, tender and high quality meat. Comes with great sauce, which I didn't use since it was so perfect as is. 2. Smoked Baby Back Ribs- Another hit with healthy portion, great flavor, and super meaty. Honestly, just hard to stop eating it! 3. Baked Beans with Brisket- A true meal unto itself! I could've stopped here! Tons of brisket ground into the beans, almost like the best "chili" ever. Flavor is sophisticated smokiness, not the usual sugary sweet restaurant rendition. Yay! 4. Potato salad is FIRE! Fresh perfectly cooked tender white potatoes, cooked carrots & peas add just enough interest and a magical a touch of mayo. Yes please. 5. 12 hour smoked Flan-STAR * of the show, the flan of my dreams! Staff insisted this flan is all that and they are correct! It's LEGIT. We left with a doggie bag, so worth it. We also got the half rack Baby Rib back...wow, it just fell off the bone and was so delicious!! Very good! The cornbread was amazing, especially with the sauce we were given to pour over it. I have no words. As a side dish for the meat, we got the Truffle Mac n Cheese, which was outstanding. Everything was great!! Last but not least, we unfortunately were disappointed in the Smoked Flan. One thing about me is I love to have BBQ fresh off the smoker, but I do like that this truck is well equipped to keep everything warm, soft, and juicy. We tried the ribs and they were BUSSIN. Soft and amazing. In my life, I've never had ribs that soft before. They were seriously incredible. The pork sausage, though, was a HIT for me. I'm a girl who loves sausage, any kind, and the way this was so juicy just hit a spot for me. Matter of fact, I'll stop cooking sausages at home and simply come buy them by the pound here. The pulled pork was good. It's my fault for putting Sweet Heat BBQ on it without trying it first because LORD JESUS. I don't know what I was thinking. I underestimated the heat, and usually I love it hot, but LORD. I think my bread absorbed all of it. So, tread lightly with the hot sauces. For me, next time I think playing with a regular BBQ sauce and adding little dashes of the heated sauces myself would be the move. BUT IF YOU LIKE CRAZY HEAT, THEY GOT IT. The mac was good. The beans were FIRE. Perfectly sweet, and they actually have protein in them, which I can't say for all BBQ bean spots. Overall, it's worth the money. The service is respectful, and honestly, I will be coming back. I'll be ordering less food next time because LORD, I bought too much, but I'll definitely be back for a fresh brisket straight off the smoker. I can't lie. All in all, they're great. I like BBQ that tastes like hard work. Frankly, I want some love put into my BBQ, not just something that was simply cooked, and here they definitely have that. Only a true master can get sausage the way they do it here. 10/10. All juicy, all good. I'll be back. I can't recommend enough that you need to pivot your Thursdays through Sundays and try this place, ESPECIALLY IF IT'S FRESH OFF THE SMOKER. Real BBQ isn't about the presentation. My car, my hair, and my clothes all smelled like I rolled around in a smoker, which is exactly what I want from my BBQ. P.S. My dogs were going crazy for my fingers and trying to jump on the counters to get a bite, so you know it's good because they're well trained.

The green bean salad comes in one size as an add-on. Okay first, the owner is clearly magic, because there isn't a grill in sight. I had no intention of ordering wings, but these are seriously the best wings I've had anywhere, in a long time (100/10). The rice and beans (10/10), and the rice smelled like it came from abuelita's kitchen. The slaw, oh my goodness (100/10), so simple, and yet perfect! I thought the chips were unnecessary . . . NOT! These are delicious (10/10) and 100% belonged on my plate. The mac . . . well, you can't win 'em all. The brisket was good (9/10) and the sauce is mustard-based, just like I like it, but the star is what got me there, the green bean salad! This was a fresh, exciting dish that is like nothing you've ever had (1,000/10), I won't describe the ingredients here, because I think you should be surprised. I can't wait to go back.
