As a recent client of this establishment for years, I can say, save your money and time and go elsewhere. This establishment in unorganized, dismissive ,rude, abusive and the new doctor exaggerates his qualifications ( halfway through my contract dr black retired and without notice a new, less qualified dr started treating me without my consent.). I experienced client abandonment as well, *without proper notice, or wrapping up my care in a safe way ( they literally led me to believe I was coming in multiple times to pick up a new set of retainers, just to privately cancel my contract , stating that I threatened to sue them). Dr Andrews was obviously defensive before he planned our meeting. This was only after years of being openly dismissed and having multiple mistakes made like ill fitting trays.. Paying these guys in full does not pull any respect, in fact its a good way to get your contact abruptly canceled ( they are very pushy about getting payment, even if treatment plan is behind.). Also be ware that treatment plan goals are not taken seriously or included in the contract/ terms of service, which only includes the payment dates and consequences for not paying. Edit as of 8/8/26~ Dr Black ortho is now attempting to condition the release of a prepaid, pre-made nightgaurd ( that they convinced me to buy upon signing the contract) ,under the conditions that I sign a " gag clause contract", which would prevent me from posting honest reviews. Not only is this unethical but is not even legal. And is proof they are paying to have their negative google reviews removed. $$$ Some of us cannot be bought, and you guys can keep that nightgaurd. If its anything like the last 6 months of trays, it probably doesn't fit anyway~ **** ( Dr Andrews lied to his receptionist and told her I refused the nightgaurd, as to get me to sign the gag clause).. Dr. Black is super kind and listens to my concerns. He never makes me feel as though my questions don't matter or are silly. His staff is kind and careful with my sensitive teeth. As an adult, orthodontics is tricky but Dr. Black is careful and thoughtful with his treatment plan. I recommend Black Orthodontics! read more

Dr.Black is hands down the BEST Orthodontist in town! He has treated my daughter for her early treatment (at 7yrs old ), In making enough room for her permanent teeth. Then again when she was ready for her full treatment of all permanent teeth as a teenager. He has the latest technology in Ortho, and in Asheville area. He really took care of my daughter and made her smile beautiful! I have recommended him to my friends and family. read more

Dr. Black is so rude! I have seen reviews about him being rude in the past but lemme tell ya that u aint the only one who has met the staff people and some of them aren't nice. But i'll get back to that in a lil bit but i gotta lot to say here on this subject. So it was my cousins bday we were going shopping and i had to go to the orthodontist to get my braces tightened and then there was this girl who took like FIFTY MINUTES to do my mouth and she was all bubbly and dropped a bunch of tools on the ground and then put them in my mouth lets not forget (and let me say that the floor is definitely not clean) then i forgot my advil and then she handed me ADULT ADVIL! Then i didnt take it so she tried to give it to my mom and them she said in a frustrating voice "thats ADULT ADVIL... She Is A kID!" ugh so i would give that girl a 0 star (i think her name was jenna or started with a J) and doctor black always janks my jaw back when he takes a look and sometimes never even says hi and sometimes he says like how r u doin girlfriend.? I mean i have told him my name before in the past! He probably forgot tho... and he acted all nicey nice after i got my braces on, probably because he new my parents were filling out wavers and contracts and stuff. read more

The Chuck E. Cheese/Las Vegas combo of Orthodontics. It isn't Disneyland, but it certainly could be, video games and cartoons no matter which way you turn your head you can't escape them, perfect for those who are bored at every step they take. Coffee and refreshment stations as well, and since, oh wait, this was about dental health, right? - there are also tooth brushes to clean up afterwards. Noisy and chaotic. One might expect a desperate acting grad student (trying to pay off his student loan) popping out of nowhere, stuck in a Mickey-Mouse-as-a-tooth-fairy-costume, waving at you with a fixated plush-head smile. Instead it is Dr. Black himself, wearing instead of a typical white uniform name-appropriately a black one, which makes you look out for the cocktail bar and pool tables. *Memo to self: cover up! Perhaps that happens only to those wearing a sleeveless tank-shirt that day, but at introduction to an orthodontist (or anyone really, unless one happens to be a half run-over cat at the veterinarian) it is totally unnecessary tapping the clients' naked upper arm, as reassuring as this gesture may be meant. It's simple: DON'T. A handshake will do just fine. A bit more professional distance and a bit less, correction: a lot less of the gaming parlor would be fantastic and much more reassuring. That's not comfortable, that's freaky. Give me an aquarium and a couple of magazines instead, and I will be more than comfortable. Surely some of us may love it, each to one's own. Question: is there a discount (dentists in LA offer it) if we write a 5 star review on social media platforms, and if yes, how much? Maybe totally worth it. Just wondering. read more

As an adult with lower front tooth crowding, my dentist referred me to Black Orthodontics. He said he had worked with quite a few orthodontists over the years and Dr. Keith Black was who he recommended most highly. I was very pleased with my results. Every interaction with Dr. Black's staff was cheerful and professional. Their equipment seemed to be cutting-edge. He fitted me with Invisalign trays, which are clear plastic braces that you can pop on or off. In less than a year my teeth were straight! There was no pain involved --- who knew? My son and I went to Dr Black for an assessment for braces for both of us a couple years ago after hearing a lot of kids raving about him because of all "the cool stuff" they could score as rewards for maintaining their braces. I was so so disappointed. His staff was GREAT, but he was a straight up ass to me. I have had a significant overbite my whole life, and am really insecure about it. When he projected a huge picture of my wonky jaw across the wall, proceded to rattle off about how he'd have to break my jaw, and busted out all this metal gadgetry he'd supposedly have to wire me with, it was understandably shocking...and upsetting. I started to cry and get choked up...and the guy MADE FUN OF ME, saying "Awwwwww...you want a tissue?!" in a baby voice!!! Instead of any kind of empathy or understanding...it was awful. Then gave my Black son a little "See ya, Man" fist bump on the way out (back when only Black people were giving them) that awkwardly screamed "I'm trying in a very phoney way to be liked by you..." which just felt creepy. Don't fall for the hype, ya'all...he doesn't deserve your business. And his giving away game consoles and ipads to some lucky winner weekly just means he's making way too much money off everyone. read more

What an amazing practice! We live 4 hours away, and my daughter goes to a college in the surrounding area, so needless to say, we are not patients of theirs and my daughter had an orthodontic emergency. I called and spoke with Pam. I had no idea service like this still existed. She went WAY above and beyond for us. I am so thankful I found them, and will praise them every way I can.
