I called multiple locations and no one would accept my insurance , but more importantly no one could get me in for an appointment today. As soon as Emily answered the phone at Asheville dental , I knew my luck was changing . She was so sweet and sympathetic. She made sure to explain everything to me including costs, since my insurance is no good in North Carolina and she got me in for an appointment in the afternoon. They sent me a text with all the information and a link to my paperwork so I could fill everything out before I arrived. I made sure to get there early and the offices are warm and welcoming. I gave my name in the front and they checked me in. I was called back right at my appointment time. I explained my situation and Makayla was patient and understanding. She checked my teeth and took an x-ray and made sure to verify the cost with me. Dr. Powell came in to examine me and he was absolutely wonderful. He explained the issue and provided me with lots of options . He answered all of my questions and I left feeling super hopeful and incredibly relieved. Thank you to Emily and Makayla and Dr. Powell! I see now there is a ridiculous amount of what may be fictional reviews. No company or person has hundreds of positive reviews without a single negative. What a JOKE! I am leaving this review about Asheville Dental located at 10C Yorkshire St. 28803. Never in my life have I been cheated, tricked, lied to and abused like this from any professional or business. I am 74yr old senior citizen and was taken advantage of by the dentist Grant Dasher and Asheville Dental. I admit my wits aren't as alert as they once were but these people should be ashamed and their office investigated by the Health Dept. I received a certified letter telling me the work was completed and I was dismissed from Asheville Dental and should find another dentist for all future treatments. This is because they convinced me to pay the total amount even before the work was 25% (twenty-five percent) completed. I was lied to when I asked if he could give me straight white teeth and he said yes. A 3rd year dental student could do this but i received mostly straight and mostly white teeth and also how long this treatment would take. Dasher told me it will take approximately 12 to 14 weeks. It took 31 (thirty-one) weeks. Imagine being unable to eat without pain for 31 weeks. So unnecessary! Dasher told me he would refund the cost of 2 (two) crowns because he saw two of my teeth would not support crowns. I was reimbursed for 1 (one) crown and cheated out of the second. He tried to convince me he had given me $4000.00 (four-thousand dollars) worth of service for free. NONSENSE/RIDICULOUS! He never mentioned this until I requested my refund for the second crown. They refused to return my money. Another cheat and another lie! There is more I could say but my point has been made to let the public know to stay away from Asheville Dental. They are the most dishonest and untrustworthy office I have ever been in. One may ask why I stayed at Asheville Dental after being treated with such obvious disrespect and put through so much unnecessary pain and discomfort? As i mentioned before they had my money, paid in full. Sometime along week 22 (twenty-two) Dasher offered me a refund when I told him I had lost all trust and confidence in him and his work. His refund was a few pennies on the dollar. I told Grant Dasher to his face while looking into his eyes that he had "No Honor" he also has No Morals or Principles. In my opinion the biggest cheater and liar I've ever known. This explains why I had noticed there never seemed to be any patients in their lobby. Many visits I was the only person when I arrived and no one there when I left. As I was leaving their office for the last time I heard them laughing. Dasher and his small staff are a disgrace to the dental profession. I have no proof other than visual (what I observed) that on occasion he used instruments that were not sanitized. The bags that are used to sanitize were opened and wrinkly on other occasions there were no bags and wore no gloves at all. This could be "Very Dangerous." I get no satisfaction in leaving such a negative yet 100% truthful review. In my opinion they are not honest people and the public needs to know! The public should know and be made aware! Stay away ...

It does not even look or feel like a dental office. It's like you're walking into someone's beautiful home mixed with a relaxing spa, full of cool artwork and good vibes! I was instantly met with a welcoming smile by Taylor at the front desk. Susan was friendly and gentle when taking me back for X-rays. The entire staff is just so kind and wonderful. You can tell that they genuinely care and want to make you feel comfortable from the paperwork to the X-rays to the treatment. I had a broken filling that needed to be replaced. The massage chairs really helped me relax as I watched tv on the ceiling. And it went great! The shot is usually the worst part for me, but it was nothing here. Dr Melanie is the BEST!!! I loved seeing her! She and Brittany kept me at ease and made sure I didn't have pain the whole time they were fixing my tooth. I wasn't even sore the next day. It was like a dream! Thank you guys!

They also claim I've had four late cancels, but that's just inaccurate. I think they may be combining with my husband, who is his own person with his own record. I'm really disappointed in a healthcare system that doesn't know how to balance consequences with real life getting in the way. Not mention, my respectful decision to not get them Ill. I also showed up to an appt while I was pregnant to get cavities handled. They knew how pregnant I was and the front desk said it would be ok. When I got to the appt they said oh no, we can't see you. They said I was too pregnant. Does that count for a late cancel for them?

She was thorough & professional, while still maintaining a personable manner! Great sense of humor! Third, Dr. Ashton was also pretty terrific, in spite of the fact that he's missing a rib. He is very knowledgeable, as well as personable. Dr. Duncan is licensed to administer sedation which I chose for one of the extraction procedures, easing both the procedure and recovery. Because of the attention he gave to molds and directions to the lab, my dentures look quite natural. They are quite beautiful! And he has provided excellent care as final adjustments to the bite and fit are made. I had a new hygienist, Jackie, who unfortunately seemed inexperienced, used the incorrect tool on my teeth, which made my cleaning quite painful, and showed no empathy for my pain. I will continue to go there because the practice, in general, is excellent, and I consider my bad experience an anomaly. But I will not use that hygienist going forward.
