First time at the salon, saw Adolf. I asked for a trim, take some weight out, & bring up the face frame a little bit. He said an inch and a half would be better, I said that would be fine. He asked if I liked the back rounded like it was and I said yes. I left with hair that is 4 inches shorter with no weight taken out so it feels 10x thicker and the back cut straight, not rounded. The ends are blunt, choppy and not at all even or blended. So exactly the opposite of everything I asked. Once I saw how much length was gone I said to forget about the face frame out of fear & had to ask him to blend the choppiness in the front a few times, at which point I realized he was simply not capable. I am in shock, I think, at how horrible this came out. I was there for 2 HOURS. I will now have to find someone to try to fix this mess without sacrificing even more length. Should have looked at these reviews to see all the 1 stars first but I just wanted a trim & didn't think it was necessary. Certainly learned my lesson. read more

Finding a new stylist is no easy task, I mean, you need trust, reliability, style and experience when it comes to cutting hair. Oh, yes, one more thing... you need to feel welcomed and loved while at the salon. All of which, met my expectations at Kevin's salon. Kevin listened to my needs, was extremely kind, fun to talk to and provided his opinion regarding what I wanted. I went in for a haircut and I showed the hairdresser a picture of the cut I wanted. My cut was nothing like the picture. I left the salon and met with my husband around the corner and he was very upset with the result. I went back to the salon to ask if she would fix it and she was gone for the day. I left a message for her with another hairdresser and was told I would hear from her on Tuesday. I had to go to another salon to get my hair corrected as i was not going to be seen in public that way. I called to speak to her on Tuesday and she was out for the day. I left another message, explained my situation with the receptionist. I was told she was informing her manager via text as we spoke. I just wanted for Kevin Charles Salon to make it right. I didn't need another haircut as most of hair is gone. To this day, Thursday 6/6, I still have not heard back from anyone. I am Not one to post or give bad reviews, but for what I was charged and I still had to go somewhere else for correction and no one seems to care to reach out to me, I figured they do not care about their reputation and clients. If you need a pixie cut, DO NOT go to this salon. This has been my worst haircut ever!!! read more

Ezel is fantastic. He is in Dallas, Plano and Austin but I would drive wherever because it's worth the health and look of my hair. He does my blonde without bleach which has greatly helped my badly damaged hair from years of bleaching. With his educational background from both Vidal Sassoon and Dessange in London and Paris he has mastered techniques not found elsewhere in most salons in Texas. He has worked alongside some of the most famous hairdressers in the world from London to Monaco and Dubai where he regularly styles the hair of Royalty and Heads of State. I'm not royalty but it sure feels like it when I get my hair done by Ezel!! I highly recommend him. read more

The salon was beautiful and Kevin was fantastic. I loved the overall color of my hair and the beautiful blow out. I had champagne and felt very taken care of. One problem was, I arrived and it took a few minutes for anyone to greet me. Upon checking in, I was told to sit and wait. I ended up waiting at least 20minutes until Kevin came to get me. He did apologize which I appreciated, but I was disappointed since I had rushed from work only to wait for a long time not being updated on what is taking so long. As I said once I was put in the chair it was great and I was pleased with the color, process and so on. The second problem was when I was paying. I had been quoted less than $50 for the color touch up on the phone by Kevin. Therefore I went in there with an expectation that the price would be around there. They had asked if I wanted it dried smooth and I was like yes, I was not aware they were going to charge me $40 for that. Had they said it was an additional fee I would've said no. By the end of it, with tip I spent over $100 which I did not intend. I was disappointed that I wasn't told that the blow dry would cost more since I've been to several salons who don't charge when getting color or cut. Overall, I did like the salon and Kevin but was dissatisfied that I waited so long and ended up paying well over what I wanted to pay. read more

When this salon first opened, it had a really cool low key but luxurious vibe- & very friendly. I started going here because my stylist was here. As of lately, the vibe has totally changed & it seems greedy & pretentious. I love to support local businesses- but they can't treat locals like they are nothing but a walking dollar sign & expect people to enjoy it. Glad my stylist left. I followed her. I decided to change salons and try Kevin Charles last summer after a couple of incidents at my previous place. I could not be happier with the results. I absolutely love the color of my hair and the fabulous cut he gave to me. Normally, it takes a few times for a new hair stylist to get my blonde hair in the right shade, but Kevin is a genius when it comes to blondes and he knocked it out of the ballpark after the first visit. Not only is he an incredible stylist, but the salon is beautiful and I love his team. They are always very welcoming and professional offering you tea, water or wine when you check in. Becky greets you with a genuine smile and makes you feel like you are part of the family. I highly recommend giving Kevin and his wonderful staff a try if you have not already. My stylist used to work out of this salon and she recently moved. I was "transferred" to another stylist, Eliza. Eliza booked with me to do my hair on October 13 mid September. This interaction was via text. A week before the appointment Eliza called and left a voicemail message and said "she had no idea how this appointment got scheduled" but that she needed to reschedule. She then unilaterally scheduled me for October 25. I wasn't thrilled, but I needed my hair done, so. Then the following morning cancelled that appointment. No more Kevin Charles salon for me. I need a place that will do my hair every 6 weeks. My old stylist there was amazing and reliable, but she moved. read more

At first I was apprehensive to leave a bad review, but the more I talked about my experience with friends I thought it was necessary. I found out about Kevin Charles on a FB group posting, someone saying they are new to town and any suggestions on salons in the area. There were lots of recommendations and responses directly from Kevin's salon, so I thought I would give it a go. I later found out through the grapevine, they have their friends leave these fake messages on FB so they can respond, seems very desperate. I also heard they leave fake yelp reviews to boost their reviews. Went to the salon, which was nice, to wait almost 30 minutes, later I heard Kevin was always late to appointments, so expect a wait! He was rushed, because he was late, the cut and color were terrible and completely overpriced, they charged extra for a blow-dry and were not upfront when I made the appointment. I ended up going to another salon to have my hair fixed. Don't waste your time or money on this salon. They are desperate If they have to leave fake reviews everywhere, I would recommend go somewhere else! read more

A few days ago I had the pleasure of visiting this salon. Let me start by saying that I have never been treated so well at a salon, ever. I've been to many overrated salons in Austin that were damaging my hair or not giving me what I was asking for, and so I decided to make the drive to Lakeway. I am SO glad that I did. The entire staff was professional, super kind, made me feel important, and very talented! Jerome was my stylist. I have slight ptsd when getting my hair done, and for whatever reason I felt trusting towards him from the beginning. Jerome knows what he is doing! He's got 30 years of experience and you can tell. He was very attentive, and delivered exactly what I was asking for. I was delighted to meet Kevin, and Becky and they were equally as wonderful! I came in with dark roots and wanted to go back to being blonde, Kevin was able to lift my roots and give me a perfect sunkissed blonde highlight WITHOUT using bleach!!
