It was an excellent choice. The funeral director, Michael Schassburger was phenomenal and the rest of the staff were very efficient, professional and consoling. On occasion, my mom discussed how she wanted to be put to rest, and I'm proud to say that with the assistance of Michael and his staff, all of her wants were met. My mom was not cremated. There was a wake, morning prayers, church funeral and burial. The wake was peaceful and inviting. My mom loved the music from the 40's, Big Band music, and it played in the background. I loved how the parlor was arranged. When loved ones walked in the mood was comforting and they felt at peace. I heard several of my nieces and nephews comment on how appropriate it was for HER music to be playing. I highly recommend Tews Ryan. I wish I could give them more than five stars because they deserve it.

Both of these times, our dealings were with the same woman. My less than satisfactory experience with my husband's wake and funeral were overseen by a man (I won't even use his name). If I could give Cage Memorial a negative star as a review, I would…read more I want to share my experience with Cage Memorial following my aunt's services, which were held in January 2025. Since the services, I have consistently contacted Cage Memorial--approximately every two months speaking with Bethany, to ask when my aunt's death certificate would be available. The last time I called was in May 2026. I was repeatedly told that the delay was due to the medical examiner's office. On August 26, 2026, I called again and spoke with Roland. I was placed on hold for approximately ten minutes. When he returned, he told me that the death certificate was there. When I asked when it had arrived, his response was, "What difference does it make? It's here now." I found that response extremely dismissive, especially after waiting so long and repeatedly following up. I went to Cage Memorial that same day with my sister to retrieve the death certificate. Unfortunately, the situation became even more upsetting disrespectful, and aggressive. Roland yelled at us, made derogatory comments about our skin color, and continued yelling at us as we left the building. He also stated that he had no empathy for the situation. Losing a loved one is already an incredibly difficult and emotional experience. Families should not have to deal with additional stress, hostility, or disrespect from the funeral home and the owners handling their loved one's arrangements and documents. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Cage Memorial to anyone. I encourage families to research their options carefully, compare prices, and read reviews before choosing a funeral home. The way a family is treated during one of the most difficult times in their lives matters.
