We were told that our gun would take around 6 weeks to fix. That was 34 weeks ago! The staff rarely ever answers the phone. We called last week and finally got in touch with someone, and they said they would have it ready on Tuesday, which is today, and one of their regularly scheduled business days. Tried to go pick it up today.... And they are closed. I cannot get anyone on the phone. At this point, it seems as if they have misplaced our property or are simply refusing to give it back. I have known Keith Warner's quality work for over a generation. Some of the projects he has done for me include: custom tailoring competition firearms, restoring sentimental pieces which have been in my family for generations, fixing mistakes I have made when attempting to modify/work on my own pieces, and much more. I have watched Keith build a beautiful set of matching father/son elephant guns from the most basic of components. When he was finished, these pieces looked as they should be mounted above a fireplace in a lodge rather than taken into the field. Beyond his craftsmanship abilities, Mr. Warner is exceedingly knowledgeable in the near entirety of the world of firearms. NFA regulation, ammunition reloading, optics, antique firearms...the list goes on for quite some time. I have moved away from Keith's locale for some time, but will still send him my firearms when they need tender loving care or the diagnostic eye of a true professional. It is easy to call yourself a gunsmith when the majority of what you work on are AR rifle and polymer pistol platforms. Truly being a gunsmith is a completely different matter, though. First let me say this.... Keith came highly recommended by another qualified gunsmith in the area. That should really be the only review necessary. A recommendation from one's competition says all that needs to be said. Now, having said that... my own personal experience ... Keith and Keith's staff were probably the most professional gunsmiths I have encountered in 50 years of shooting and hunting. They were courteous, responsive and knowledgeable. They could have EASILY over charged me but did not. They treated me and my firearms with the same respect they most likely would have expected themselves. I just can't say enough positive things about the experience. It is safe to ignore the silly and petty negative reviews... which are most likely from 'unpleasables' or fake anyway. I'll make this simple, accurate, and as to the point as possible. I think the quality of work is decent but not worth the price and you can find better, I think they are nice guys from my small amount of experience with them. I've heard from multiple people they'll steal parts from guns they are working on, I can't confirm it but that is legitimately alarming on a general level and could say a lot about the character of the owner. But I gotta say the prices are the worst I've ever seen from any store anywhere, I promise you can get the same quality of work for MUCH less elsewhere from certified guys not just from home smiths either. Funny thing is the few times I've mentioned this business in conversation with gun guys without a beat they complain about Keith Warner being an arrogant dude that's prices are insultingly high. I worked with these guys a good while ago paying for a gun to get cerakoted, it was good work and it was before I knew what a fair price was. They ripped me off, then went to them again via messages on social media still trying to give them business and they tried to quote me another rip off price after I learned much more about the market of cerakote I told them what the market was and that they were way way over it. On July 21, 2022, I went to Keith Warner's shop and dropped off my Browning Bar 30-06 to have the trigger/ safety worked on. I was told that it would take about 6 weeks to complete. No price or anything like that was discussed, and to be honest, that was not my concern. Fast forward to 3-14-23, almost 34 weeks later, I have called the shop many times (often with no answer) gone to the shop in person (and they were randomly closed with no warning), and have been told the job was over looked and they would get to it immediately. Every time I went to the shop, my information was taken down and I was told I would get a call back in a few days about the gun, but sadly the call never came. Last Friday, March 10, 2023, I was finally able to get the staff on the phone and told them I would like to pick up the gun on Tuesday (today), which was the next business day they were open. They took all of my information down and said the gun would be available for pick up. To my surprise, on Tuesday (today) the shop is randomly closed and I am unable to get anyone on the phone in order to retrieve my property. I began to research the shop and have found this is an ongoing problem with this business, and have read many stories similar to mine. This is an unfortunate situation, and I just want my property back from this business. I hope the staff can come together and provide some type of customer service in the future. read more

When you have unusual and non typical custom work requested, it's hard to find anyone more knowledgeable than this place. Warner gun shop nailed it. Before I knew about Warner gun shop, I wasted countless hours getting nowhere with other gunsmiths in the MidSouth. What a breath of fresh air. A gunsmith that knows how to do things right the first time. There is a reason this guy is super busy. His work is off the charts. You pay for what you get and I like my arms to be different and perfect with customization. Disregard the couple bad reviews from the people smoking crack on Yelp. They probably bought their gun at a pawn shop or Walmart from the beginning and then needed an expert to fix their gun for free. Trust me, I know what I want and this place exceeded my expectations. Very friendly staff they always have a great selection of unique guns. The only downside are some of the prices are fairly high. Having said that, they have some really awesome AR builds. I'll defiantly continue coming back. read more

I called this shop to ask for a quote on checking the headspace of a rifle. This is a simple procedure that shouldn't take a qualified gunsmith more than 20 minutes to complete. He quoted me $50. This is on the more expensive end of the price range, according to other shops. He also said he could do the job while I waited in the shop. I decided the peace of mind was worth the cost, even though it was expensive to a college student like myself. I brought the gun in, and he told me it would be $60. I reminded him he originally said $50, and he said "yeah we'll go with that." He told me it would be a few days and they'd give me a call. That was on a Monday. The Friday of that week, I called the shop to check on the gun. They said it was "in the back" and the gunsmith must be working on it. Again, they said they would call me when it was done. On the Monday two weeks after I dropped off the gun, I decided that I wasn't going to wait any longer for a service that was already too expensive. I went into the shop to see if they had done the work, with my mind set on taking it home if they hadn't. When they finally found the gun in the storage area, they said they had not done the work. I took it home and am now looking at other options. The only reason why they get a star is because they gave me somewhat useful, albeit dangerous advice: shoot the gun without checking its headspace and see if it deforms a cartridge. I don't mean any ill will toward Mr. Warner or his employees, but they are practicing bad business. Charging a premium price on work that seems to take much longer than guaranteed (according to the other reviews) is a sad thing to see in the gun industry. I hope they see these reviews and make a genuine change, as I can only imagine how they might take advantage of someone who doesn't know much about pricing or length of procedure times. On the recommendation of several friends, I took an AK to Keith Warner Gunsmiths for some much-needed attention. I found Keith and his employees to be friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I brought the gun in on a Thursday and mentioned that it would be helpful if I could get it back ASAP because I had to leave town for work. The work was completed in an impressively brief time and at what I consider to be a very reasonable price. The quality of the work performed on my rifle is first-rate. Fourth and final update and it's unbelievable. Firstly, pick up the phone now and call Lee or Wayne at the number below if you have any gunsmithing work to be done. They performed major surgery to get my rifle back to a functional state and they did it as promised. Now for the criminal part as it pertains to Keith Warner. The invoice I received today from Wayne at Lee Thomas Gunsmith (662-429--3701) shows the list of FIFTEEN (15) separate parts that were missing from the pile of gun parts Keith Warner gave me 976 days days after dropping off my fully functioning rifle at his shop to have a trigger job performed. I just had to stroke a check for over $400 to the new, competent and honest gunsmith to get my gun to a functional state, and it is FAR WORSE OFF than it was when I originally left it with Keith. To be specific, Keith BENT MY RECEIVER when he attempted to remove my barrel. He gave me the WRONG STOCK with someone else's initial ("W" or "M") carved into the bottom of the tang. That wrong stock is in HORRIBLE CONDITION. He had swapped out my bolt cover with someone's broken one. My once-beautiful Browning BAR 30-06 now looks like something Jethro from The Beverly Hillbillies would have used to shoot a pool to see some bubblin' crude. One can only speculate what series of events led Keith Warner to make the series of horrible, criminal decisions he made that led to him parting out my gun to repair others' guns over the past three years, but it suffices to say if he doesn't cooperate with me with a smile and sincere contrition that considerable resources will be spent to bring justice to this scofflaw. read more

This is a very professional establishment and I am so glad that my wife's boss recommended I stop by. They have extensive knowledge of a large variety of weapons and are more than happy to discuss it with you. I went in the other day with the intent of getting some custom work done on a pistol for my wife. They first asked me what was the end result I was looking for and what I wanted to get out of the upgrade. After explaining my intent, they were honest enough to tell me that they could do the work and would be glad to do it, but it would not give me the results I was looking for. He said if I wanted to go ahead and spend that money, he would be glad to take it, but it would be a waste of my money one not worth it to me. He did not try to sell me something else in it's place. It would have been very simple for him to go ahead and just take my money for something that wouldn't work or to try and sell me something else, but instead of just making a quick buck, he was honest about it and he made nothing off of me that day. The one thing he did make, is a loyal customer. I have a lot of work I am going to be getting done in the future and I will be building some things myself. Car salesman at its finest. Not the owner, this is his car sales man at the counter. Didn't bother remembering his name. Brought my pistol in to get cerakote. Car salesman says be ready in two weeks. I call back, says be ready next week, I call back says be ready next week etc. I went up there and asked for my pistol back. Not ready. Completely unassembled and in a zip lock bag. Which I get Bc it's necessary in order to paint it. But when you tell a customer it will be two weeks and finished and then it's not done several weeks after, not good. Car salesman at its finest. I just tell him I'll do it myself. Then, when I go to pay, the guy says he won't charge me for reassembly of my pistol $50.00. Oh I'm supposed to thank you for not charging me a service you did not complete/do???? Hahaha. The cerakote also is a shit job. Two dribble spots on the slide. I didn't even bother arguing Just left. I've been going to Keith Warner for a number of years now. I think it important to get to know your 'smithy' and develop a friendship. While his shop may not be the least expensive for firearms, I have found his knowledge and willingness to share it invaluable. As in any business transaction one must be very clear about expectations and cost before agreeing to buying or having work done. Absolutely rude and unprofessional. Very slow turn-around time, which you are not told up front. One customer we found out waited over 9 months. We didn't. Retrieved pistol left 3 weeks ago, was treated very rudely, took pistol to another reputable establishment, who took less than 5 minutes to take care of issue. He has 4 BBB complaints that he refuses to even acknowledge, much less try to resolve. Not BBB accredited for obvious reasons. Highly recommend everyone use another shop. Let me begin by saying that I rarely post reviews of any service or business, but my experience with Warner Gunsmith should be told. I dropped off a mid-1960s Ithaca 37 for some restoration work in January 2015 and, in fairness, said I was not in a rush. Cost was not discussed, I was willing to pay for a good quality restoration. I made several visits to the store since leaving it and was told repeatedly that "yes, the work was underway; we've searched for a forend, but decided to make it ourselves; that the shopmade forend had broken; that the replacement forend had been found; that the wood stain was being applied to match the stock; that the shotgun was being reassembled", etc. and they would call when it was ready. I never got a call and finally decided to reclaim the shotgun. When I went in on Wednesday (2-14-18), Mr. Warner promised me that the work would be finished that Friday. When I went in the following Tuesday to get it, I was told it was "on the workbench, being reassembled" and they needed another hour. I came back in two hours and they handed me a gun that NONE of the work listed on the receipt had been done - three years and nothing, no explantion, no apology - they just handed it to me. Yes, it is a modestly priced shotgun of the common man, but it has great sentimental value to me. If this was not a worthwhile project, Mr. Warner should not have accepted it and in the interim should have been truthful about the work and returned the shotgun to me years ago. read more
