A great breakfast find! Tucked away in a shopping center off SR 312 and a short drive from both Historic St. Augustine and the beaches, Keke's should definitely be part of your morning routine. Big smiles greet you as soon as you walk in the door, and the space itself is quite comfortable, nicely decorated, and spacious, with room to spread out a bit and enjoy your morning coffee. My server Elizabeth was great, making sure my coffee cup was constantly filled, and my order made its way to my table just a few minutes after I ordered. The western omelet (one of my go-tos) was nicely prepared and was served along with a nice thick toasted rye and their version of home fries, a little twist on the classic using sliced red potatoes and onions, nice! The coffee's good, so ask for a cup to go when you get your check. One of the things that's hard to find but that's on Keke's menu are chicken breast omelets, something that'll I'll be checking out on my next visit. They also serve lunch, something more to look forward to on the next trip. All in all, a great start to the day as the sun was coming up over St. Augustine. What can I say, the food this place is so good there's a little bit of a wait to get in. Let me just start by saying the server was very friendly and very helpful and she was always around when needed. The orders were as follows first I ordered the eggs Portabello. This came with two poached eggs portobello mushrooms roasted red peppers and home fries on the side. I also ordered a side of bacon which nobody can really mess up. The eggs were done a little bit medium I like them a little bit runnier but that's OK it did not ruin my meal. The combination of the eggs and portobello mushrooms and roasted peppers were ideal. And of course the hollandaise sauce was the icing on the cake. We also ordered the eggs Florentine which is pretty much similar with the exception that there is spinach and tomatoes in it and not the Portabella mushrooms or roasted peppers. Both were incredible. We also ordered the Italian chicken omelette which came with shredded chicken fire roasted peppers provolone and pesto sauce. Again an awesome omelette. On top of that I ordered a side of the silver dollar pancakes. They were very moist and flavorful. One of my guests ordered the strawberry waffles with a side of sausage egg and home fries. I did not sample this but was told it was very fluffy and the strawberries tasted awesome. Last but not least we also had somebody order the make your own omelette and I think they put onions and peppers in it I'm not sure but I did not sample that either but as you can see it looked wonderful. I kept my eyes and ears peeled from all of the previous negative reviews, expecting a long wait and rude wait staff, but was happily disappointed. We were greeted right away and given a buzzer, and told the wait would only be 20 minutes even though it was prime weekend brunch time. Our waitress arrived promptly and was back in no time with our drinks. Our food came out quickly, too. The portion sizes were huge so I consider the menu fairly priced. My one complaint is two people at our table for the customizable egg scrambler bowls and our orders seem to have overlapped. My buddy got the right toast, right cheese, and right egg cooking method but had spinach (which he didn't ask for). Mine had the right toast, no cheese since I asked for none, and the right egg cooking method but instead of spinach/green pepper/mushrooms it had jalapeño/green pepper/sausage. I am not a spicy food person at all, but didn't want to make my hungry table-mates wait for me while my order was remade, so I sort of just suffered through it and drank a ton of water. Overall: fair prices for huge portions, friendly staff with quick service, but may need to take more organized notes when customers select a "build your own" option. St. Augustine is spoiled with great local breakfast joints so although I won't be seeking this place out again on my own, I wouldn't complain if a friend asked to meet here for food in the future. read more

This place is hopping. I wanted to take my dad out for breakfast and he recommended this new place. We got there at 945 on a Thursday and by 1045 they were on a 15 minute wait. This is definitely a popular place already. I would have to agree that the food was delicious. I did a very basic build your own meal and was very impressed. My favorite had to of been the Red potato home fries. Very well cooked: not over done or oily. My dad really enjoyed his cheese omelette as well. Service was excellent. Our glasses never were empty. We might has had a caffeine overload with the coffee though. Just joking no such thing. Our food came out very well prepared it just took a while. It could have been mainly because we came at a busy time but all the same I felt Like we spent more time waiting then we did eating. One of the worst breakfasts we have ever had. We waited 1 hour for our food. When the food arrived it was ice cold. The toast was not toasted. Potatoes were ice cold. The yolk in my husband eggs Benedict was basically hard boiled. While apologetic and didn't charge us, we waited over 1 hour and left without enjoying a meal because the food was inedible. read more

The first thing you notice upon entering are signs taped to the hostess stand apologizing for pandemic staff and product shortages. The next thing we noticed was how dirty the staffs shirts were. It makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like! And this location still has no continents on the table. Packs of salt and pepper are smashed in with the silverware. I want to give 2.5 stars but I can't. Last day of our vacation and heading home, decided to stop at a place we've never been... Didn't know that we would be waiting for 45 minutes to get our food and only see our waitress 4 times. She came by to say it will be just a few more minutes and walked away. So, I love the food here it's great... my family and I drive over every Sunday for late breakfast. I however am rating this one star review because today Janet told the wait staff to not seat anyone even though they have many open tables !! Why ? Why would that be done ? Their are people standing out the door sitting for 45 minutes and you are making people wait an extra 5 minutes just because ??? This is the owner who is ordering the wait staff to do this. They went in to tell all of us how horrible Janet is. They said she is rude and just mean. We are a group of 5 first cousins who meet once a week for breakfast. We vary the restaurants around town and this week decided to eat at Keke's. Two of us ordered an egg & cheese sandwich. I noticed my sandwich was dry and had no mayonnaise on it. I asked the waitress to bring some. She brought a container that holds approximately an ounce and both of us who ordered the sandwich used that mayonnaise as the sandwich was rather dry without it. When the bill was presented I noticed the price per cup of coffee was the highest our group had ever paid at any of the restaurants we frequent...$3.49 per serving. Additionally, I noticed there was a $.50 charge for the mayonnaise! One person got home fries with their meal and ketchup was provided for that but no "free" condiment for the sandwich. Total bill was the highest we have ever paid in St. Augustine for breakfast though, admittedly, it was good and the server did a good job. read more

I've been to other Keke's before (mostly in the Central Florida area), so regarding food, I knew what I was getting by coming here. And for the most part, I would give Keke's a 3-star rating for food (which, by my standards, is still pretty good). However, for this particular location in St. Augustine (my first time here, by the way), I'm giving this place a 4-star rating, and here's why: I was very impressed by the attention to cleanliness and customer satisfaction that I experienced during my visit. The waiter was (for the most part) courteous (although seemed a bit hurried, often walking away before I could fully finish a request), but he was responsive overall. My kudos (and extra star), however, go to the manager, who I observed making his rounds to various tables, asking, "How is everything?" and the like. From the few conversations I could overhear or could see the exchange, he wasn't just asking in a rote manner; he seemed to take the time to actually listen. And then I observed him arranging the condiments and such on the empty tables where he felt they were out of place. The clincher: he pulled out his iPhone flashlight, inspected the seats and the floors for cleanliness! WOW! That's a level of detail that I never saw in a restaurant! Food-wise (since this is a Yelp review), I ordered the Portobello Panini, which arrived nicely plated, and the cheese was ooey-gooey whenever I took a bite. Although the panini was fine, flavor was a little lacking; I feel that it could have been helped with maybe a base layer of a pesto aioli. I'm not a chef, but I know what I like, and I wished it were part of the sandwich. This is a suggestion that I hope corporate test-kitchens would take into consideration. Overall, no complaints. We arrived at the front desk and I had asked of there was a gluten free menu due to allergies They did not have one and the hostess tried to advise what is GF on the menu. I asked if the omlettes were or if they mixed pancake batter or something else in with the eggs and she did not know. Luckily our waitress was super knowledgeable and advised me that the eggs are cracked fresh and no pancake batter or anything that would have gluten is added.
